    Jharkhand. In Khunti, the husband committed suicide after killing his wife. The case pertains to Rowauli village located in Kevda Panchayat under Murhu police station area of Khunti district. In a domestic dispute here, 55-year-old Soma Hassa Purti hacked his wife, 50-year-old Bigan Hapadgada, to death with a shovel. After killing his wife, Soma committed suicide by hanging himself from a jackfruit tree. Villagers told that there used to be frequent disputes between the couple. It is being told that the village of Khunti where this incident took place is situated in a very remote area. Mobile network also does not work in the village, so there was a delay in informing the police. Sensation spread in the village regarding the incident. The Police is investigating.

    It is said that there were frequent quarrels between the couple. At the time of the incident, Hassa Purti had left with his wife to go to his in-laws’ village, Konseya. On the way there was a fight between the two and both returned to the village. But about 100 meters before the village, near his farm, Soma hacked his wife with a spade, killing her on the spot. After the death of his wife, Soma went home and hanged himself on a jackfruit tree with a plastic rope. An hour after the incident, the cousin of the deceased informed the villagers after seeing both the bodies. On Monday morning, after holding a meeting, the villagers informed the police about the incident after finding a mobile network. After this, SI Digambar Pandey of Murhu police station reached the spot along with the armed forces.

    At the same time, the postmortem of both the dead bodies was done and handed over to the relatives. The deceased couple has six daughters and two sons. Three daughters are married. SDPO Amit Kumar told that the case is being investigated by registering an FIR at Murhu police station.

The name of the deceased is Sukalu Kumar age 20 years Korba and Ramvinay Paswan age 35 Aurangabad Bihar resident.

    Maharashtra: 10 dead as truck rams into highway hotel in Dhule

    Ten people were killed and more than 20 injured after a container truck hit four vehicles and then rammed into a hotel on a highway in Maharashtra’s Dhule district on Tuesday, police said.

    The accident took place at around 10.45 am near Palasner village on the Mumbai-Agra highway in Dhule, located more than 300 km from the state capital, a police official said.

    The brakes of the truck failed, following which its driver lost control of the wheels. It hit two motorcycles, a car and another container from the rear side.

    The truck then rammed into a hotel near a bus stop on the highway and overturned, he said.

    “At least 10 people were killed and more than 20 injured,” the official said. The truck was going towards Dhule from Madhya Pradesh.

    However, latest PTI reports suggest at least 15 people have reportedly perished in the accident.

    Kolkata (IANS). The ED has asked actress-turned-politician Sayoni Ghosh to bring documents related to her bank accounts and properties for the second round of questioning on Wednesday in the West Bengal school recruitment case.

    Sources said Ghosh has been asked to bring the documents of the family members as well.

    The ED has not found any direct evidence against Sayoni Ghosh involved in the school recruitment case. The probe agency is probing whether the proceeds of the alleged scam were invested in any business or property by Ghosh or his family members.

    The sources further said that expelled Youth Trinamool Congress leader Kuntal Ghosh is accused of investing the proceeds of the scam in properties and businesses.

    Earlier, the ED had tracked the information of Kuntal Ghosh giving a loan of Rs 40 lakh to Tollywood actor Boney Sengupta to buy a vehicle.

    Sengupta confessed this to the central agency and later returned the money to the ED.

    Sources said that the ED wanted to find out whether Sayoni Ghosh was also involved in such cases.

    On June 30, Sayoni Ghosh was questioned by the ED for 11 hours. According to agency sources, Sayoni Ghosh gave many contradictory answers to the questions.

    SHO Nathulal Meena told that the matter is being investigated and soon the culprits will be arrested.
