    Hyderabad: Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has made elaborate arrangements for the conduct of Group IV services recruitment test on Saturday. It includes multiple verification checks that have been put in place at the examination centre.

    Candidates appearing for the exam will be frisked at the centre’s entrance and their hall tickets scrutinised. This will be followed by cross-verification of the valid photo identity card issued by the government with the candidate and the photo printed on the hall ticket.

    Once inside the examination hall, the candidate’s name and photo on the nominal roll will be cross-verified with details in the government issued photo identity card and their signature on the hall ticket. Finally, at the end of examination in each session, candidates must affix his/her left thumb impression in the nominal roll. The aspirants have to go through this multiple verification process for the both sessions.

    While there are rumours on social media that the TSPSC has done away with the personalised OMR sheet with candidate’s roll number, name and photo printed on it for Group – IV test, officials said since inception the Commission has not used such personalized OMR sheets for its recruitment exams.

    In fact, the premier recruitment agency – union Public Service Commission that selects candidates for IAS, IPS and other all India services does not use such personalized OMR sheets. Candidates appearing for recruitment tests must bubble their credentials on the OMR sheets.

    ‘Women candidates need not remove their traditional ornaments’

    Candidates particularly women appearing for the Group – IV services recruitment test on Saturday need not remove their traditional ornaments including Mangalsutra and toe rings. The TSPSC officials said no instructions have been issued to the centres not allowing the traditional ornaments in the exam venues.

    Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday said 29 of the 81 bodies of victims of the June 2 train accident in Balasore, which were kept in AIIMS Bhubaneswar, have been identified.

    The process of handing over the bodies has started, BMC Mayor Sulochona Das said. “Of the 81 bodies preserved at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, 29 have been identified based on DNA analysis. We have started the process of handing the bodies to their families,” Das said.

    The Mayor said the authorities of Indian Railways and AIIMS Bhubaneswar decided to go for DNA sampling analysis after there were multiple claimants over one body. Das said the State government has made arrangements to send all the bodies to their native places. “Of the 29 identified bodies, five families have already reached AIIMS Bhubaneswar,” she said.

    Of the 29 bodies, one belonged to a family in Odisha while the others were mostly from West Bengal and Bihar. It took around 20 days to receive the DNA report from the central laboratory in Delhi, an official said, adding as many as 88 DNA samples were sent for identification of the 81 bodies. Of the 293 persons killed in the accident involving Chennai-bound Coromandel Express from Shalimar, Bengaluru-Howrah Superfast Express and a stationary goods train, 287 died on the spot while six others succumbed to their injuries in hospitals.

    The accident took place near Bahanaga Bazar station in Balasore district on June 2 evening. While most of the bodies were handed over to their families, 81 could not be identified due to multiple claimants and preserved in four separate containers procured from Paradip Port. The bodies were kept at minus 17 degrees Celsius in the containers, an official said.

    Bhubaneswar: Water level in Hirakud dam registered a significant rise after Chhattisgarh opened all 66 gates of Kalma barrage on Mahanadi river. About 1.18 lakh cusecs water is entering the Mahanadi through Kalma barrage.

    The gates were opened following heavy rainfall (6.06 mm) in the upper catchment of the Mahanadi in the last 24 hours. While 72,000 cusecs water had entered Hirakud dam till 9 am, the water level of the dam was 603.67 feet against full capacity of 630 feet with inflow of 79,262 cusecs and outflow of 29,772 cusecs by 12 noon.

    If heavy rainfall continues in the upper catchment, Hirakud dam may soon release the first flood water of the year, sources said.

    Jalandhar | Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal informed that a total of 2,62,466 eligible families have been covered under the AB-MM Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana in Jalandhar district. These families will be able to avail cashless health services in all 73 empaneled hospitals including 60 private and 13 public sector health establishments.

    While reviewing this scheme, the Deputy Commissioner has directed the officials to make concerted efforts to cover 100% beneficiaries under this scheme so that each beneficiary can take advantage of this health care scheme. He said that each family would be able to avail treatment up to Rs five lakh in all empaneled hospitals.

    The Deputy Commissioner further said that the eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of on-spot enrollment and e-card generation at their nearest Common Service Centers and government healthcare establishments including CHCs, Sub-Divisional Hospitals and District Hospital. He said that for enrollment and e-generation of the card, they will have to carry their Aadhaar card and the beneficiaries should also have PAN card, Ration card or registered construction worker card, Journalist ID (yellow and recognition card), and Kisan ID along with it.     The cabinet minister said that under this scheme, the benefit of Rs 6,000 will be directly transferred to the bank/post office accounts of the beneficiaries. To avail this, forms are filled by Anganwadi workers in all Anganwadi centers of Punjab. To get this benefit every beneficiary should have Aadhaar card and Aadhaar card should be linked to the bank account. The minister further informed that the beneficiaries can submit their applications by registering themselves on the online portal (https://pmmvy.nic.in/) sitting at home. Minister Dr. Baljit Kaur ordered the officers to implement the scheme in a transparent and efficient manner.

Praveen died due to bullet injury. Due to this sad news, a wave of mourning has run in the area. Surat Singh has appealed to the Government of India to help bring the body of his son Praveen Kumar to India.
