Zarina Khatoon, who got married in Taryapar village, has mentioned in her Tahrir that at present she is living in her maternal home in Kadshara village of Harpur-Budhat police station in Gorakhpur district. She was married on March 28, 2019, to Taj Mohammad, resident of Taryapar village of Mahuli police station, Ekhlaq Ahmed. At the time of marriage, her husband Akhlaq had given her Rs 10,786 as dowry.

At the behest of her husband, her father-in-law Taj Mohammad, mother-in-law Saimunn Nisha, brother-in-law Aman and sister-in-law Musarrat were thrashed by abusing them. He informed this to the parents on the phone. On this his father Izhar reached his in-laws house.
The in-laws forced her father to sign a plain paper and drove her and her father out of their house. She along with her father reached Mahuli police station to get justice. The police did not register a case against the culprits. Police Station President Bhagwan Singh said that a case of dowry harassment has been registered against the accused husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law etc. The case is being investigated.
