  • Guntur: Cotton farmers felicitated for getting highest yield

    Guntur: Tulasi Seeds chairman Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu felicitated cotton farmers, who achieved highest yield in the production of artificial seeds, here at a programme on Thursday.

    Tulasi Seeds has organised an awareness programme on cotton crop for seed organisers and farmers of Nujiveedu region at Govardhan Gardens in Vadlamanu village of Agiripalli mandal on Thursday. Tulasi Ramachandra Prabhu was the chief guest while Managing Director Tulasi Yogish Chandra and Director Tulasi Krishna Chaitanya were attended as special guests.

    Addressing the farmers, Ramachandra Prabhu said that Tulasi seeds won the trust of the farmers for the past three decades by supplying quality cotton seeds, despite facing several problems. He gave suggestions to young farmers on how to save themselves from getting losses in the context of seed production. Stating that their innovations and experiments are a continuous process, Ramachandra Prabhu assured that they will take all precautions to see that no farmer will incur loss with the seeds supplied by them.

    Later, food was arranged for 400 people.

  • Chandrababu appoints in-charges to constituencies in the state

    Chandrababu Naidu, the national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and former Chief Minister, has started appointing in-charges to constituencies in an effort to strengthen the party for the upcoming 2024 elections and has directed that all in-charges should be among the people.

    As part of the exercise, former Minister Narayana has been appointed as the in-charge of the Nellore City Assembly, while Kotamreddy Srinivas Reddy, the current in-charge of the Nellore Assembly, has been appointed as the state general secretary of the party and reportedly assured of Member of the Legislative Council (MLC) seat in the near future.

    Gompa Krishna, who is aspiring for the S. Kota constituency, is likely to be appointed as a state secretary. Bose, the son of the late MLC Bachula Arjunudu, has been appointed as the Executive Secretary.

    In an interesting move, backward caste leaders have been appointed as in-charges in the Kurnool and Nandyala Parliaments, replacing individuals from OC castes while BT Naidu from the Boya community has been appointed as the in-charge of the Kurnool Parliament, and Mallela Rajshekar Goud has been appointed as the in-charge of the Nandyal Parliament.

    Furthermore, Chandrababu Naidu has decided to appoint Somishetti, who is currently the in-charge of the Kurnool Parliament, as the party state secretary.

    Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan emphasised the need for efficient leaders in politics and expressed the importance of having leaders who are willing to fight for their cause. During a program organised in Bhimavaram, leaders from various parties, including Thota Sudhir from Kakinada, joined Jana Sena. Pawan praised Thota Sudhir for his understanding of laws and mentioned that he has a close relationship with the latter’s family.

    Pawan stressed the importance of everyone’s support to strengthen the party and stated that the Jana Sena should register a victory in Kakinada in the upcoming elections. He also mentioned that the Jana Sena party’s aim is to prevent YSRCP from securing seats in the erstwhile East Godavari district.

    Alleging that the employees are not being paid salaries on time and farmers not getting minimum support prices, Pawan announced that he would visit East Godavari district again on the 4th and 5th of the next month to address these issues.

  • Vidadala Rajini inaugurates conference on cancer, urges people to undergo frequent checkups

    A conference was held at Guntur GGH on Friday, organized by the National Cancer Grid-AP Department, with the aim of providing low-cost treatment for cancer patients through government medical schemes. Inaugurating the program, Minister of Health and Medical Affairs, Vidadala Rajini highlighted the increasing prevalence of cancer, with one in every six people now being affected due to lifestyle changes and opined that the government is taking steps to improve cancer treatment in government hospitals.

    Minister Vidadala Rajini shared that over the past four years, 8.23 lakh cancer cases have been registered in the state, and 2.8 lakh individuals have received treatment under the Aarogyasri scheme. She emphasized that more than Rs. 1700 crores have been allocated for cancer treatment during this period.

    The minister mentioned that cancer treatments are now available in government medical colleges, and she also noted that even in countries like Singapore, cancer remains a significant cause of death. Minister Vidadala Rajini urged people to undergo regular medical check-ups, emphasising that prevention is always better than treatment.

  • ACB Court orders CID to attach the house where TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu stays

    Vijayawada: The ACB court in Vijayawada ordered the CID to attach the Lingamneni Guest House on the banks of river Krishna. This house has been given on lease to former Chief Minister and Leader of opposition in Andhra Pradesh Assembly N Chandrababu Naidu.

    This decision of ACB court comes following a petition filed by CID seeking permission to attach the guest house.

    The CID had issued a notice for attaching the said property in accordance with the provisions of Criminal Law (Amendment) Ordinance of 1944 on the ground that the guesthouse had been reportedly given to the former Chief Minister on a free of cost basis in alleged exchange for certain benefits that accrued to its owner, Lingamaneni Ramesh, and his relatives in the alignment of capital city designs.

    The State Home Department ordered the CID to attach the guesthouse, which is located on the Krishna river banks at Undavalli, on May 12 to prevent its disposal or the creation of any encumbrance.

She was married on March 28, 2019, to Taj Mohammad, resident of Taryapar village of Mahuli police station, Ekhlaq Ahmed. At the time of marriage, her husband Akhlaq had given her Rs 10,786 as dowry.
    His parents gave him a motorcycle, Rs 50,000 in cash, a gold chain and ring and other items.
