Today TTD will issue Tirumala Darshan Tokens for various services

TTD has given good news to the devotees who are waiting to book tickets for darshan and announced that online quota of Srivani trust donors tickets for the month of June will be released today at 3 PM. Moreover, it has been announced that many tickets related to Srivari Seva will be released on different dates successively.

TTD will release the June month quota for Tirumala Srivari Arjita Seva tickets, which include Kalyanotsavam, Oonjal Seva, Arjita Brahmotsavam and Sahasradipalankara Seva on March 23 at 10 am. Similarly, the online LuckyDip registration process for remaining Arjitaseva tickets for the month of June will start on March 24 at 11 AM. Those who got tickets in LuckyDip have to pay and confirm.

TTD will release the Angapradakshinam Tokens quota for the month of June online on March 24 at 10 am. TTD will release the quota of free special darshan tokens for the month of April at 3 pm on March 24th to enable the elderly, disabled and chronically ill people to visit Tirumala deity.

India has proven its resilience as a trading nation in recent times

Odisha matriculation student commits suicide for not doing well in exams

Jajpur: In a shocking incident, a girl student reportedly committed suicide last night allegedly for not doing well in Odisha’s Jajpur district.

The girl, who is said to be a student of Jajati Keshari High School in the district, committed suicide by hanging herself with a dupatta inside the house.

According to the deceased student’s father, she had already informed the family member about her performance in the matriculation examination, which had begun on March 10 and concluded today.

Her father said that the deceased girl was under mental stress as he had not done well in her last two subjects.

A team of Jajpur Police reached the girl’s house and initiated a probe after sending the body to the hospital for post-mortem.

Ward No. 20 of Surat Municipal Corporation is yet to announce the election for the seat that fell vacant after the death of a BJP corporator ten months ago. Normally bye-elections are to be held in six months for the vacant posts but the government has not yet announced this bye-election. Two and a half years are going to be completed in the next few days when the municipal elections are over, but speculations are rife that this term will end with a fractured board as the election for the vacant post has not been announced. Despite this situation, various speculations are being made due to the silence of the opposition of the municipality.

The Surat Municipal Corporation 2020 elections were held and the first board meeting of the municipality took place on 11 September. 120 corporators were elected from 30 wards in the Surat municipal elections and came to the municipality. Out of which BJP corporator Jayesh Jariwala died on 22 May 2022 in ward number 20. Because of this, there are only three councilors in ward number 20 instead of four. According to the rules of the municipality, when a member resigns or dies, elections have to be held after six months. But ten months have passed for Jayesh Jariwala.

The municipality has written three letters to the government for the election of this ward, due to which it has been calculated that along with the assembly elections, a vacant seat in ward number 20 will also be elected. But despite the assembly elections, the election could not be held on the vacant seat of Ward No. 20. The opposition of the Municipal Corporation is silent on this issue. Ten months after the death of the corporator of Ward No. 20, elections have not been announced since they are not opposing the weakness of the BJP rulers, so it is likely that the remaining two and a half years will pass with a fractured board .

Two accused arrested in the case of robbery of Rs 20 lakh from a businessman

A young businessman of a firm in Jamjodhpur marketing yard of Jamnagar district was going on his bike after withdrawing 20 lakh cash from HDFC Bank on the afternoon of last 14th, when two people riding a bike looted a bag full of cash worth lakhs. In this incident of robbery, the LCB team arrested one person from Surat and Lalpur along with Rs 18,50,000 in cash, bike and mobile phone and is busy nabbing other robbers.

Police has seized the goods from the accused

The government of this state increased the minimum wage of laborers by about 25 percent.

GANDHINAGAR: The Gujarat government on Monday announced in the state Assembly that minimum wages given to skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled labourers have been increased by nearly 25 per cent — up to more than Rs 2,400 per month — a hike coming after a gap of nine years.

The announcement about the increase in minimum wages, which will become effective after a notification is issued within a fortnight, was made in the Assembly by Gujarat Labour and Employment Minister Balwantsinh Rajput, who said the current payment structure for labourers came into force in the state in 2014.

He said the hike will benefit nearly 2 crore people.

For skilled labourers working in the jurisdiction of municipal corporations, municipalities and urban development authorities in 46 different types of businesses listed in the Minimum Wages Act, 1948, the government has hiked the minimum monthly wage from Rs 9,887.80 to Rs 12,324, a rise of Rs 2,436.20, or 24.63 per cent, he said.

For semi-skilled labourers, the state has hiked the minimum monthly wage from Rs 9,653.80 to Rs 11,986, up Rs 2,332.20, or 24.15 per cent.

For unskilled workers, the monthly wage has been raised from Rs 9,445.80 to Rs 11,752, indicating a rise of 24.41 per cent, said Rajput.

For skilled labourers working outside the jurisdiction of municipal corporations, municipalities and urban development authorities, the state government has increased the minimum monthly wage from Rs 9,653.80 to Rs 12,012, up Rs 2,358.20, or 24.42 per cent, said the minister.

The minimum monthly wage for semi-skilled labourers for this category of workers (outside the jurisdiction of municipal corporations, municipalities and urban development authorities), has been hiked from Rs 9,445.80 to Rs 11,752, while for unskilled labourers, it has been increased from Rs 9,237.80 to Rs 11,466, said Rajput.

“This is for the first time the Gujarat government has given a 25 per cent hike in minimum wages. New wages will come into effect after a notification in this regard is issued within a week or two. The new wage structure will benefit nearly 2 crore people directly and indirectly,” said Rajput.

Moreover, the state government has decided to double the minimum wage given to labourers associated with sugarcane cutting and loading activity.

Their wage has been increased from Rs 238 per tonne to Rs 476 per tonne, said the minister.

The new wage structure has been prepared keeping in mind various parameters such as the number of members in a family, cost of food, clothing, house rent, electricity cost, education and healthcare expenditure, among others, said the minister.

The state government had started the process to review the minimum monthly wage in May last year by issuing a notification inviting suggestions and objections from various stakeholders.

It had also appointed a ‘Gujarat State Minimum Wages Advisory Board’ to analyze these suggestions and objections and make recommendations to the government.

In consultation with the board, the state government has decided to revise the minimum wages, said Rajput.

Action on Amritpal Singh: Punjab Police slaps NSA against five people

CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Police on Monday said it has invoked the stringent National Security Act (NSA) against five people linked to radical preacher Amritpal Singh’s ‘Waris Punjab De’.

Addressing the media here, Punjab Inspector General of Police (Headquarters) Sukhchain Singh Gill further said the preacher was on the run and efforts were on to nab him.

He said six FIRs have so far been registered and 114 people arrested in the crackdown against elements of the Waris Punjab De outfit.

Gill also said that police suspect an “ISI angle” and foreign funding in the matter.

The NSA has been invoked against five people linked to the outfit, he said in response to a question.

The stringent law has been invoked against four detenues — Daljit Singh Kalsi, Bhagwant Singh, Gurmeet Singh and Pradhanmantri’ Bajeke, who have been shifted to the Dibrugarh Central Jail in Assam.

He further said that the NSA has also been invoked against Harjit Singh, who surrendered on Saturday night in Jalandhar.

Harjit Singh, the uncle of Amritpal Singh, will also be taken to Dibrugarh Central Jail, the police said.

In the wake of the action against the radical preacher, Gill said police were taking out flag marches in the state and peace committee meetings were being held in all districts.

There is complete peace in Punjab, he added.

The official also urged people not to lend ears to rumours and fake news, saying strict action will be taken against those found involved in the same.

The police on Saturday launched a major crackdown against Amritpal and members of his outfit ‘Waris Punjab De’.

The elusive preacher, however, gave police the slip and escaped their dragnet when his cavalcade was intercepted in Jalandhar district.
