Siddu government will fall in three months: KS Eshwarappa

Bengaluru: Political dynamics in Karnataka may witness a transformation akin to the recent developments in Maharashtra, according to former Deputy Chief Minister K.S. Eshwarappa. Addressing a BJP protest at Freedom Park, Eshwarappa predicted that Ajit Pawar-like circumstances could unfold in Karnataka, leading to the downfall of the Siddaramaiah government within three months.

He suggested that Ajit Pawar of Karnataka is waiting for an opportune moment, indirectly saying DCM D K Shiva Kumar implying that the government’s collapse is imminent.

Eshwarappa also criticized Siddaramaiah’s recent change in stance regarding providing Rs 3,000 to unemployed youth. The former DCM argued that it was unfair to impose conditions on delivering the promised funds, suggesting that the BJP would mobilize the state’s youth and fight on a large scale if the government fails to fulfill its promises.

Additionally, public discontent has been growing due to the rising electricity rates. Eshwarappa pointed out that Siddaramaiah did not directly blame the BJP government for the rate hike, raising questions about justice in the matter.

He alleged that Minister Satish Jarakiholi had alleged that the Bhagya Jyoti registration server was hacked, by union government shows the false of government. Eshwarappa emphasized that despite any challenges, the BJP possesses strong leadership and will stand firmly under Prime Minister Modi’s guidance.

He expressed confidence in winning more than 25 seats in MP election , citing the readiness of the party’s leadership, organization, and the favorable sentiment among voters. Although the overall number of seats may be fewer, the percentage of support remains consistent, with the BJP receiving more votes in the recent Lok Sabha elections.

Eshwarappa also commented on the controversial issue of the conversion bill asserting that it would not be reviewed. He even offered to provide free tickets and show a film Kerala story to those interested in understanding the situation better. Moreover, he opposed the reinstatement of a ban on cow slaughter, stating that the people of the state would not tolerate such a measure. Eshwarappa demanded the immediate implementation of five guarantees, emphasizing that the associated funds should be disbursed from the first cabinet itself. Lastly, he metaphorically remarked that while the assembly houses 66 tigers, there are millions of tigers outside, indicating the party’s determination to fight for the people of the state both within and outside the

    legislative chamber.

Gutha targets Rahul, calls him an immature leader

Nalgonda: Reacting on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s criticism of BRS, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy stated it was ridiculous for him to come to Telangana and criticise CM KCR.

BJP came to power only because of the failure of Congress, he said, adding that leaders like Rahul Gandhi have a history of forgetting responsibility and going abroad when the country is in trouble.

Congress must answer why pension schemes are not being implemented in Congress-ruled states, he questioned. He said except power, the Congress party does not care about people’s welfare. Telangana state will be prosperous only under the rule of KCR.

He stated that everything in the Congress party is divided into groups, and the leaders of that party hug each other with knives. He said that everyone knows who is the B team of BJP.

He said that the top leaders of the Congress party never like unity of opposition parties and does not want to oust the BJP. There is no efficient leader in the Congress party. He ruled out the merging of BRS into BJP and added that rumours are politically motivated.

Sandra praised CM KCR for giving land rights to tribals

Khammam: Satthupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah said that Chief Minister solved the podu land problem permanently and gave rights to the tribals farming the forest lands

On Tuesday, he along with district Collector VP Gauthm distributed podu pattas to tribal farmers at Sathupalli.

Speaking on the occasion, he said that they should not help in the destruction of forest. Farmers will get the same benefits as regular farmers with titles.

The government has converted more than 3,900 thandas and gudems into gram panchayats. As much protection as pattadar has in Dharani, they have the same protection. Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bhima, Girivikasam, Sitarama Jalalu and bank loans are all types of benefits will given given to the podu farmers. Electricity has been given to every tribal house, he said.

He said that after giving importance and rights, there is no meaning to the cases of corruption, the CM has removed all cases of corruption.

Belagavi: Tomato prices have skyrocketed across the state, causing common people to suffer. The price of tomatoes and chillies in Belagavi district has also crossed the hundred mark, becoming a burden on consumers’ pockets. On one hand, farmers anxiously await the arrival of monsoon rains. On the other hand, the increased prices of tomatoes and chillies have caused concern among the common people. Despite the first week of July coming to an end, the district is receiving only moderate rainfall, which is not beneficial for agricultural activities.

‘Due to the lack of rain, most farmers are unable to sow their crops, resulting in a decrease in tomato, chilli, and other vegetable yields. Consequently, the prices of tomatoes and green chillies have risen, reaching Rs. 100 per kg. The scarcity of these products in the market has led to the increase in prices. We had trust in the Congress party, hoping for relief’ said a source. A woman consumer Mehboob Tehsildar, demanded that the government reduce the prices of essential items before providing free electricity.

Akshata Desai, a housewife, insists that the government urgently reduce the prices of essential items, considering that tomatoes and chillies now cost Rs. 100. With daily expenses ranging from Rs. 200 to 300, how can we afford to spend on vegetables while managing other household costs? Rich individuals may not be affected by price hikes, but the common people will suffer. Basavaraja Karaguppi, a vegetable trader, states that people are reluctant to purchase vegetables. A tray of tomatoes is being sold for two thousand rupees in wholesale due to limited supply. Large tomatoes cost Rs. 100, while small tomatoes cost Rs. 80. Consequently, sales have decreased.

Prakash Badugola, another vegetable trader, remarks that customers who used to buy one kg are now buying only half a kg, and those who used to buy two kg are now purchasing only one kg. The prices of eggplants, beans, okra, and other vegetable crops have also increased by 20 per cent.

  • Congress accuses BRS, BJP of ‘shadow boxing’

Congress accuses BRS, BJP of ‘shadow boxing’

Warangal: With elections around the corner, the ruling BRS and the BJP opened up a new political drama surrounding the railway coach/wagon project assured to Telangana under the AP Reorganisation Act-2014, Hanumakonda DCC president Naini Rajender Reddy said.

Addressing a press conference along with his Warangal counterpart Errabelli Swarna in Hanumakonda on Tuesday, he held both the BRS and the BJP equally responsible for backtracking on establishing a rail coach factory in Kazipet.

“Hand in glove with each other, the ruling BRS and the BJP were enacting a political shadow-boxing to hoodwink the people in the region. The demand for establishing a rail coach factory in Kazipet dates back to the early 1980s. Even though the then Congress had proposed to set up a coach factory in Kazipet, the unit was given to Punjab at the larger interest of the nation. After the Manmohan Singh government gave green signal in 2009, the State had acquired 54 acres belonging to the endowments department for the coach factory,” Naini said.

The BRS and the BJP which came to power in the State and at the Centre respectively in 2014 never showed interest in commissioning the rail project, he said.

Now, the BJP is trying to catch the attention of the people by stating that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going to lay the foundation stone for the periodical overhauling (POH) and as well as the wagon manufacturing unit on July 8.

On the other hand, the BRS leaders were threatening to launch an agitation, demanding a rail coach factory instead of a wagon manufacturing unit. It’s nothing but a stage-managed drama, Naini alleged.

Errabelli Swarna said that the BRS had never exerted pressure on the Centre, demanding the implementation of bifurcation promises – coach factory, steel plant and tribal university. Former MP Sircilla Rajaiah said thatModi has no moral right to visit Warangal as he had done nothing to the region.

Parkal constituency in-charge Engala Venkatram Reddy alleged irregularities in the allotment of land in the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. He held Parkal MLA Challa Dharma Reddy responsible for the land scam. Wardhannapet constituency in-charge Namindla Srinivas said that

Referring to the remarks of Modi, who said Congress gave birth to a child but killed mother on Telangana formation, Namindla said that it’s difficult to trust the BJP that it could do something for the State.

Senior leaders Bathini Srinivas Rao, Banka Sarala, P Ramakrishna, Mirza Azizulla Beig, K Venkat, B Vikram and G Swapna were among others present.

  • Tension grips State BJP leaders and cadre

Hyderabad: Tension prevailed in the cadre and leaders since Monday morning over the issue of change of State BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar and handing over it to Union Minister G Kishan Reddy.

The State leaders are keenly watching the developments in Delhi as Bandi would be inducted into the Union Cabinet and Kishan Reddy would be the new party chief. While Reddy, who is reluctant, remained in the national capital, Bandi left for Delhi on Monday morning, say party sources, though he was informed that he would be going to Mumbai for religious purposes.

The change of guard has been denied time and again by both Reddy and party national secretary and State party in-charge Tarun Chug; but, differences cropped up within the party between those who have recently joined leaders, like Eatala Rajender, and others, who wanted the party to move forward aggressively against the BRS.

“Eatala has made it clear to the national party leaders that he and several others had joined BJP with the sole objective of defeating Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao-led BRS. Any soft-pedalling of BJP towards BRS would not be acceptable to them,” said a former MP.

Also, the newly joined leaders are insisting that the State party leadership should endear all sections of people and get along with every section to maximise the winning chances of the party in the ensuing assembly elections.

This amounts to pointing fingers at Bandi’s Hindutva rhetoric, and his repeated assertions that he would continue to talk about it.

Against this backdrop, the party’s national leadership is holding talks with senior State leaders on the issue. However, the issue has stuck since it did not get the approval of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been appreciative of Bandi leading the party ever since he was appointed.

It is learnt that a final decision on the thorny issue has been hammered out and placed before Modi for his decision; it is expected to be announced anytime on Monday or Tuesday morning. When contacted the party State in-charge and other BJP MPs continue to remain tightlipped on the issue.

In Hyderabad, former MP and BJP national executive member AP Jithender Reddy who has been playing a crucial role in organising the Praja Sangrama Yatra as well as the party’s by-elections reportedly called for a meeting of BJP leaders, like former MP Vijayashanti, Eatala, and others following the developments in Delhi.

Meanwhile, there is an uneasy calm among the cadre and several district leaders over any change of guard at this time.

Many have been batting for continuation of Bandi; this was conveyed to the national leadership. A top source told to The Hans India, “it is a fact that discussions are on in the party on change of State party chief. Change or no change would be decided before Modi’s public meeting in Warangal,” he added.

  • BRS terms Rahul as ‘Remote Gandhi’ parroting out Cong-scripted speeches

Hyderabad: The BRS leaders held a press conference where they referred to Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader, as the ‘Remote Gandhi.’ They accused him of delivering a scripted speech prepared by Congress party leaders in the State. They even went as far as quipping that his appearance at the Khammam meeting proved his incompetence, labeling him as Pappu.

Legislative Affairs Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy, alongside Minister P Ajay Kumar, MP V Ravi Chandra, MLAs Redya Naik and others addressed the press conference at the BRSLP office. Prashanth Reddy criticised Rahul Gandhi, stating that a national party leader should do thorough research before addressing public gatherings in a State. He expressed his disappointment, saying that after witnessing the promises made by Rahul at the Khammam meeting, he now truly believed that Rahul Gandhi was deserving of the nickname Pappu. Prashanth Reddy accused Rahul of reading a script provided by local ‘sanyasis’ (religious leaders) in the area.

Prashanth Reddy raised questions about the Congress party’s failure to implement schemes that were successfully executed by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, despite the party being in power both in the State and at the Centre. He questioned the absence of initiatives such as RythuBandhu, 24-hour power supply, a Rs 2,000 pension, and Kalyanalakshmi under the Congress government. Regarding Rahul Gandhi’s promise of a Rs 4,000 pension, Prashanth Reddy suggested that before making such commitments in Telangana, Rahul should first implement these schemes in Congress-ruled states like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.

He further questioned why the Congress party had not made similar promises in the state of Karnataka. Prashanth Reddy strongly criticised Rahul Gandhi for labeling KCR (Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao) as a monarch, asserting that the real monarch was Rahul himself. He questioned Rahul’s authority to make promises when there is a Congress party president and a floor leader who should be responsible for such matters. According to Prashanth Reddy, Rahul’s actions reflected a form of real monarchism. Addressing a press conference here along with Lok Sabha leader of the party Nama Nageswara Rao, MPs BB Patil, Ramulu, M Srinivas Reddy, K Prabhakar Reddy and others at Telangana Bhavan, Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao took objection to Rahul Gandhi’s comments that the BRS had supported the farm laws.

“We opposed the Agriculture Bill in the Parliament… We boycotted the government. The Centre withdrew the Agriculture Bill because of the pressure from BRS, but it is ridiculous for a national leader to say that we supported it. I leave Rahul’s comments to his wisdom,” said Keshava Rao. He said that no party was fighting the BJP like the BRS at the national level. BRS would be first among the parties which are coming together against the BJP. He also said that Rahul Gandhi has no qualities to lead an anti-BJP alliance.

  • Hyderabad: Neknampur Lake set to fall prey to encroachers

with officials responsible for its protection failing to take appropriate measures. A cause for concern arises as an unauthorised fence has been erected in close proximity to an open area of the lake.

Residents and social activists have raised concerns regarding the encroachment near Neknampur lake. They question how it is possible for individuals to encroach upon the land when it is clearly stated on the board installed by the Revenue Department that the area belongs to the State government and trespassers will be prosecuted. Despite the presence of the board, it has been observed that the board was removed, and a portion of the land has been unlawfully occupied.

Madhulika Chowdhary, founder of Dhruvansh (a NGO that has been working to protect the lake) and social activist, said, “Since 2019, we have been tirelessly advocating for the preservation of the buffer zone surrounding the lake. Despite our continuous pleas to the officials for action, it was only recently that they installed four boards indicating that the land belongs to the government. Unfortunately, this temporary solution has not deterred encroachment, as the area continues to be unlawfully occupied. To exacerbate the situation, a fence has been erected, negatively impacting the lake. In January, encroachers even began constructing huts in the area. It is important to note that the majority portion of the lake, spanning 108 acres, falls under the jurisdiction of the Manikonda Municipality, while the remaining portion is under the purview of GHMC. This division of responsibility has been exploited by the concerned officials, who conveniently shift blame when complaints are raised.”

The officials not taking effective action despite our complaints. It is disappointing that even when FIRs are filed against encroachers, they don’t seem to have much impact. It’s concerning that officials only seem to act when objections are raised, and the measures taken, like putting up boards or partially demolishing fences, are not enough to solve the problem, It is unfortunate that the administrative system’s inefficiency has overloaded the judiciary, making it harder to find resolutions for smaller issues. It’s important for the administrative system to prioritise the protection of natural resources and promptly address even seemingly minor issues. Citizens like yourself shouldn’t have to go through lengthy battles to secure public land rights, she added.

“Despite the efforts of an NGO to protect the lake, the beauty of the area is being marred by illegal encroachment and the dumping of trash. Numerous complaints have been lodged with the relevant authorities to remove the garbage, as the foul odor has become unbearable. Unfortunately, these pleas have been ignored, and no action has been taken to address the issue,” said Suresh, a local. When Hans India contacted the MRO office, they did not respond.
