  • Tension in Gajwel town after clash

    Hyderabad: A clash between two groups triggered tension in Gajwel town of Telangana’s Siddipet district after a man was assaulted for allegedly urinating near a Shivaji statue.

    The man, who was in an inebriated condition, was allegedly paraded naked for his act. The incident led to the clash between groups of different communities, which also left one person injured.

    Police officers pacified the protesters with the assurance that they will take immediate action against those found involved.

    A few organisations also called for a shutdown in Gajwel on Tuesday to protest against the incident and to demand action against the guilty.

    Gajwel Assembly constituency is represented by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao.

    Meanwhile, Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) leader Amjedullah Khan Khalid alleged that the local police were mute spectators to the incident.

    He urged the Director General of Police and Siddipet Commissioner to order an inquiry, while also also demanding security for the minority community.

  • Hyderabad GHMC gets a new Commissioner

    Telangana State Government has transferred GHMC Commissioner Lokesh Kumar and appointed state Finance Secretary D Ronald Rose as the new Commissioner.

    Lokesh Kumar was transferred and appointed as Additional Election Commissioner.

    Another senior IAS official and Excise and Prohibition Commissioner Sarfaraz Ahmad was also transferred and posted as Additional Election Commissioner. Senior IAS official , who is writing for posting, has been appointed as Commissioner to the Excise department.

    Union Minister for Culture and Tourism G Kishan Reddy has been appointed as Telangana BJP state unit President. The incumbent BJP Chief Bandi Sanjay quit the post and likely to be inducted in the union cabinet.

    While coming to Andhra Pradesh Senior BJP leader Purandheshwari has been appointed as Andhra Pradesh BJP unit President.

    Meanwhile, Etela Rajender has been appointed as the Chairman of Telangana Election Management Committee and inducted former AP chief minister Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy in BJP national working group.

    After the meeting of BJP National President Nadda with Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav and Shekawat, several state presidents were finalized. Also, Sunil Jakkad appointed as Punjab BJP president and Babulal Marandi as Jharkhand BJP chief.

    It is understood that the BJP leadership has taken this decision as part of the measures taken to strengthen the party as there are elections soon in many states.

    Earlier in the day, Somu Veerraju announced that he received a call from party president JP Nadda and was asked to resign. It is learned that Somu Veerraju will be given another post.

    The President virtually inaugurated a 30-foot bronze statue and memorial forest dedicated to Alluri Sitaramaraju in Bhimavaram, West Godavari district, from Hyderabad.

    CM Gehlot tweeted, “In order to bring more transparency in competitive examinations in the state, the Chief Secretary has been directed to prepare a better process after discussing with RPSC, DOP, RSSB and other stakeholders.” It has been decided to bring a bill in the upcoming assembly session to make provision of maximum punishment life imprisonment in the law made against paper leak.

    Dhanbad (IANS). Sensation spread after the body of 13-year-old student Aakriti Mona Oraon was found on the side of GT Road in Govindpur police station area of Dhanbad district on Tuesday. The student was a resident of Mandar, Ranchi, who used to live in Dhanbad and study in a coaching center called Super 100.

    The girl’s family members have reached the spot. They are accusing the girl student of murder.

    The police have taken the coaching operator into custody.

    In protest against this incident, the girl’s relatives and local relatives blocked the GT Road for some time, demanding justice.

    Police have seized a note from the student’s pant pocket, in which she has allegedly mentioned her problems regarding exams and studies.

    Mona’s family members say that an attempt has been made to murder her and make it look like a suicide.

    Mona was preparing for admission to Indira Gandhi Residential School, Hazaribagh. In the past, she had failed in the entrance exam twice, due to which she was upset. The incident took place before the entrance exam was to be held in the next few days. The body of the student has been recovered and sent for postmortem. Police say that every aspect is being investigated in the case.

    Sultanpur (IANS). In Marui Krishnadaspur village of Sultanpur district of Uttar Pradesh, assailants shot dead two farmers over old enmity. Superintendent of Police Somen Barma said that the deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Dharmaraj Maurya and 45-year-old Vijay Kumar Rajbhar.

    The incident happened on Monday night when the farmers were working on their agricultural land.

    The injured were taken to the Community Health Center where doctors declared them brought dead.

    The SP said that no arrest has been made in this regard so far.
