Opposition leader selected by high command, Yeddyurappa Delhi

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Assembly Opposition Leader selection exercise has reached its final stage. The selection ball for the leader of the opposition has reached the court of the high command and on Sunday evening, a high voltage meeting was scheduled in Delhi. The BJP high command will put a full stop to the curiosity of who will be the leader of the opposition in Delhi. Thus, the BJP high command has issued a summons to former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to come to Delhi. In this backdrop, Yediyurappa travelled from Bangalore to Delhi on Sunday. Speaking to reporters before leaving for Delhi, Yediyurappa said that ‘the national president of the party has asked him to come to Delhi. So I left for Delhi. However, I don’t know what the national president called for. What they will discuss? I did not know what is in their mind, ‘ he clarified. A month and a half after the formation of the new government, the leader of the opposition has not been chosen. There is only one more day left for the legislative session. Therefore, the curiosity of who will sit in the seat of the leader of the opposition has risen. Will former CM Bommai become the Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Assembly? Or there is a possibility that the High Command is going to carry out a surprise experiment today. Even though the race is going on in the saffron party to sit in the position of the opposition leader, keeping in mind the Lok Sabha elections and the future vision of the party, the BJP high command is still searching for an opposition leader. There was a high meeting in Delhi today, and BS Yediyurappa was asked to attend it. Former CM BSY reached Delhi at 2.10 pm. It is said that in the Parliamentary Board meeting to be held in Delhi, the Assembly Opposition Leader and BJP State President post will also be discussed, it is likely that the Opposition Leader name will be made an announcement in today’s meeting itself. Former CM Bommai is expected to be elected as the leader of the opposition. MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal has also contested equally strongly. In the meantime, former Home Minister Araga Gyanendra name has also been heard. It is being said that Bommai himself can become the leader of the opposition . But it has raised curiosity whether the High Command can go ahead with the experiment as per the choice of the candidates at the last moment.

  • Insult to women who prepare mid-day meal in MP: Kamal Nath

Insult to women who prepare mid-day meal in MP: Kamal Nath

Bhopal (IANS). Kamal Nath, president of the Madhya Pradesh unit of the Congress, has accused the BJP government of insulting the women who prepare mid-day meals. At the women’s self-help group conference at Bhel Dussehra ground in the capital, Kamal Nath said that in the 18-year-old Bharatiya Janata Party government in the state, not only injustice, but also humiliation has been done to the women who prepare mid-day meals.

Addressing the women of the self-help group, Kamal Nath said, “I do not want to call you cooks. You cook food and take care of children, in this way you are a social worker and build the future of the state. I listened carefully to you guys. You said that honorarium is not given properly, cylinder is not available and there are other problems. I do not go into detail of everything, but I want to make it clear that once the Congress government is formed, the injustice done to you will be removed and justice will be done to you. I am surprised to know how you have been tolerating this humiliation and injustice for so many years.

He said, “More than one crore youth are unemployed in Madhya Pradesh. The Chief Minister promises to provide employment and jobs, I want to tell him that the contract workers and guest teachers who are already working, you should give them employment, that will be a big deal. My government got only 15 months to work, I and our government introduced policy and intention. Loans of 27 lakh farmers were waived off, 1000 Gaushalas were constructed, 100 units of electricity were given for Rs.100 and other development works were also done.

Kamal Nath said that 22 thousand announcements have been made in the Shivraj Singh Chouhan government in 18 years. Seeing the upcoming elections, Shivraj has become an announcement machine and now this announcement machine has turned into a machine of lies. In the government of 18 years, farmers are upset, youth are upset, women are upset, unemployment is at its peak. There is no limit to corruption. The policy of ‘give money, get work’ is going on in the state. The Shivraj government has imposed a debt of Rs 330,000 crore on the state. This loan is not being used to provide jobs to the unemployed or to increase the honorarium of women, but is being used for contracts and commissions.

  • Nellore saw no development under YSRCP rule, flays Lokesh

TDP national general secretary Nara Lokesh has alleged that Agriculture Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy looted crores of rupees of public money during the last four years.

He said that though three ministers Kakani Govardhan Reddy, P Anilkumar Yadav and Mekapati Goutam Reddy represented Nellore district, the district witnessed no development under the YSRCP rule.

Though the TDP had won only 3 seats in Nellore district in 2014, the previous government had spent crores on development works in the district.

He recalled that Rs 4,500 crore was spent on Nellore city development and Rs 63 crore for Kandaleru lift canal for supplying water to 16,000 acres during 2014.

Addressing a huge public gathering as part of his Yuvagalam Padayatra in Mithukuru mandal in Sarvepalle constituency here on Saturday, Lokesh said the people of Sarvepalle constituency have committed blunder by electing Kakani Goveadhan Reddy as their MLA.

Lokesh said that the Agriculture Minister was an accused in eight cases pertaining to illegal sand mining and transportation, land grabbing, manufacture of illicit liquor and stealing of documents in court. If found guilty, the Minister would go behind bars, he said.

He said that 8 persons including a tahsildar were jailed on charges of illegally occupying 100 acres of government land worth crores of rupees with forged documents. He alleged that they were supported by Govardhan Reddy.

Lokesh criticised former Irrigation Minister Anil Kumar Yadav for failing to keep his promise of completing the multipurpose Polavaram Project by 2020. He said Anil was under frustration now as Chief Minister Jagan had rejected his plea to contest from Nellore city constituency in 2024 Assembly polls.

He pointed out that TDP founder and former Chief Minister N T Rama Rao had provided water for 1 lakh acres in the district through the Telugu Ganga project. When Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy became Agriculture Minister, water was provided to another 1.3 lakh acres under the project.

He urged the people to exercise their franchise in favour of TDP in 2024 elections as it would ensure the district development. TDP politburo member Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy and others were present.
