    Jana Sena Chief Pawan Kalyan has finalized the schedule for the second phase of his Varahi Vijaya Yatra. The yatra will commence from Eluru with a public meeting on the 9th of this month at 5 pm.

    Pawan Kalyan recently had a discussion with Nadendla Manohar, chairman of the political affairs committee, at the party office in Mangalagiri to plan the second phase. He will also meet with party leaders today to discuss the local political situation in various constituencies, including Denduluru, Tadepalligudem, Unguthuru, Tanuku, and Eluru.

    The first phase of Pawan Kalyan’s Varahi Yatra was successful, receiving a tremendous response from the people. Regardless of the location, large numbers of people, Janasena activists, and Pawan’s fans attended the meetings. Throughout the first phase, Pawan criticised the government on public issues and made strong comments about the ruling party leaders.

    However, Pawan Kalyan is now focused on the second phase of the yatra, with preparations underway to start from West Godavari.

No one had ever imagined that Gadwal district would one day get a medical college, but it happened only because of visionary leadership of KCR and Harish Rao’s commitment to boost medical education as well as health services in the rural areas of the state.

On Wednesday, the state government issued orders sanctioning a new government medical college to Jogulamba Gadwala district. Expressing gratitude to the government, a large number of people took part in the rally taken out from Gadwala Old Bus Stand, covering Krishnaveni Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk and Gunda Old Bus Stand.

    Alampur MLA Dr Abraham along with a number of students performed Ksheerabhishekam to the portraits of KCR and Harish Rao. The MLAs danced to Telangana Bathukamma songs along with the students at the old bus stand.

    Khammam: Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar has informed that the distribution of podu patta passbooks will let indigenous tribes to participate in all government programmes and partake of the benefits thereof.

    He was distributing podu pattas to 673 recipients from 13 villages in Raghunathapalem mandal at Raghunathapalem Rythu Vedika in the district on Thursday.

    The minister also noted that that podu cultivators were no owners of expensive land, too, because an acre of land would fetch at least Rs 50 lakh. The beneficiaries in the mandal would receive pattas for 1,707 acres of land worth around Rs 800 crore, he added.

    He reminded the tribal people of how the government was paying attention to their welfare and settled the decades-old issue of podu lands. He said Podu farmers should take advantage of programmes such as Rythu Bandhu. He asked them not to believe in the opposition’s misleading campaign against the government.

    Details on the Buddhist narratives carved on the 1,240 limestone panels that depict the life of Buddha, Jataka Tales, Patrons of Buddhism and contemporary lifestyle of the Buddha’s period were narrated by Buddhist expert consultant, Buddhavanam Project, Dr EShiva Nagi Reddy.

    More than 60 officials of TSIIC led by V Madhusudhan, CEO, TSIIC, visited the Buddhavanam. K Sudhan Reddy, OSD, Buddhavanam Project, and Dr Shyam Sundar Rao, Design In-charge, Buddhavanam Project,accompanied the dignitaries.

    Chennai: A special court to hear cases against MPs/MLAs acquitted Tamil Nadu minister today A case has been registered for grabbing government land for higher education and at Ponmudi of senior DMK leader by forging documents.

    Special court judge G Jayavel acquitted six others, including Ponmudi and Greater Chennai Corporation deputy mayor Magesh Kumar, for lack of material evidence to prove the charges.

    The land grab FIR was registered in 2003 by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) against Ponmudi, her mother-in-law late P Saraswathi, Magesh Kumar and others. They were accused of forcibly occupying 3630 square feet of government land located in Srinagar Colony, Saidapet, forcibly evicting Kannan, who had built a hut on the said land. Later, documents were allegedly fabricated to show that Kannan had sold the land to Saraswathi at a price of Rs. 8 lakhs. Later, Ponmudi had built a house at a cost of Rs. 35 lakhs. The minister was accused of criminal misconduct, abuse of official powers and adopting corrupt and illegal means to grab the land. The special court acquitted Ponmudi in the case after a petition in 2007 Filed by him. However, in 2017 the Madras High Court overturned the order after finding prima facie evidence against him.

    Thiruvananthapuram: The dispute between the state chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) over tax dues will be taken up in the High Court on Thursday. In an affidavit submitted in the court on Tuesday, the DGGI alleged that IMA has not paid taxes of more than Rs 50 crore in the last six years.

    The DGGI questioned IMA’s claim for exemption citing membership fee collection and apartment projects run by IMA as reasons for their probe. The IMA has challenged this claim and filed a writ petition in the High Court to restrain the Central GST from confiscating their properties.

The court issued the order on a plea by the Council of Principals of Colleges in Kerala seeking quashing of the order. The government order directed college principals to constitute a 10-member cell and mandated the constitution of a University Appellate Forum/Tribunal to act as an appellate authority on the orders of the Grievance Redressal Cell.

    New Delhi (IANS). A man wanted in connection with the robbery and murder of an elderly couple in south Delhi’s Amar Colony area in January 2019 was arrested from Patna. A Delhi Police officer gave this information on Wednesday.

    The accused has been identified as Zubair Alam alias Danish. He was absconding for more than two-and-a-half years in the case.

    Alam conspired with his mother to murder the couple on January 18, 2019. They had looted jewelery and cash.

    The official said Alam and his mother Sabina alias Salma were initially arrested on January 27, 2019. Both absconded after being released on bail.

    Special Commissioner of Police (Special Branch) H.G.S. Dhaliwal said that for the last two months there was information that absconding Alam was hiding in Mumbai and surrounding areas.

    A police team was sent to Mumbai to trace the fugitive. But, he could not be caught from there. The persistent efforts of the police team were successful when specific information was received that Alam would come from Mumbai to Patna by train on the night of 3rd July.

    After this, a police team boarded the said train from Prayagraj railway station. The team members then identified the accused while on his way to Patna in a moving train and finally caught him at Patna Junction.

    The official said that after securing bail, Zuber had gone to Mumbai. There had been working in the film and TV industry as a crew member for the past two years with production teams associated with serials like ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’, ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ etc.
