    3 killed in building collapse in Jamnagar

    Jamnagar | Three people, including a woman and a four-year-old child, were killed when a three-storey residential building collapsed in Gujarat’s Jamnagar city on Friday evening. The officers provided this information.

    Locals claimed that the building, which was about 30 years old and dilapidated in Sadhna Colony, was constructed by the Gujarat Housing Board. Dr Deepak Tiwari, medical superintendent of Guru Gobind Singh Government Hospital, said three of the eight people, who were rescued by local people and fire brigade personnel, succumbed to their injuries, while the others are undergoing treatment.

    According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Jaipal Swadia (35), Mittal Swadia (35) and Shivraj (4). Dr. Tiwari said that two men and three women are among the injured.

    Local residents claimed that eight to ten people could be trapped under the debris prompting the administration to launch a search and rescue operation. Corporation Commissioner DN Modi, senior officials of the Municipal Corporation and local MLA Divyesh Akbari reached the spot. Abkari said, “There are 12 flats in each block of this colony. There, Rahul encountered 20-year-old Mohammad Zaid, a resident of the same street, and had a fight with him, during which Zaid stabbed Rahul in the lower abdomen, the officer said. Sonu also suffered injuries on his hand. The investigation so far has revealed that there was some ego clash between the two. Zaid works as a carpenter with his father, while Rahul’s father sells candy. Zaid, who is absconding, has been booked under IPC sections 307 (attempt to murder) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) at Dayalpur police station, the official said. At the same time, Rahul is currently admitted in the ICU ward of GTB Hospital.     New Delhi | The government is going to implement the rule of ‘time of day’ (ToD) for fixing electricity rates. With this, electricity consumers across the country will be able to save up to 20 percent on their electricity bills by managing electricity consumption during solar hours (day time). Under the TOD rule, different rates of electricity will be applicable for different times of the day. With the implementation of this system, customers will be able to avoid doing high electricity consumption tasks like washing clothes and cooking during peak hours.

    Under the new system, consumers will be able to reduce their electricity bills by doing tasks like washing clothes or cooking food during normal working hours. The TOD fee regime will be applicable from April 1, 2024 for commercial and industrial consumers with a demand of 10 kW and above. This rule will be applicable from April 1, 2025 for all other consumers except agriculture. However, for consumers with smart meters, the TOD system will be applicable only when they get such meters installed.

    The Ministry of Power said in a statement on Friday, “The Government of India has made two changes in the existing electricity tariff system by amending the Electricity (Consumer Rights) Rules, 2020. These changes pertain to introduction of Time of Day (TOD) tariff system and rationalization of provisions relating to smart meters.” Accordingly, instead of being charged for electricity at the same rate throughout the day, the price paid by the user for electricity will vary at different times of the day.

    According to the statement, under the new tariff system, the rate of electricity in solar hours (eight hours fixed by the State Electricity Regulatory Commission) will be 10 to 20 percent less than the normal rate, while it will be 10 to 20 percent during peak hours. We have to work on the concept of ‘UP for UP, UP for India, UP for Global’. To bring transparency in the system, we have to use maximum technology. Any type of pendency will not be tolerated at all. UP has a base of 96 lakh units of MSMEs. To create a one trillion dollar economy, there is a need to plan on a large scale regarding this.

    The CM said that on the lines of birth-death registration, registration of all types of construction work must be done. We should have the data of every construction work being done in cities and villages. Also take care of safety in construction works to be registered. If there is an accident during or after the construction works, then there should be a system of insurance to compensate for it. Construction work should be done only on barren and infertile land. Cultivable land should not be affected. The department should make full use of its resources to increase the income.

    Yogi said that according to the vision of the PM, UP is the first state where the GDP of the districts has also been released. Publish the GDP of the districts along with the data of income-expenditure from various resources. This data should also be sent to various universities for study. Lakhs of people are associated with the tourism industry in the state. There has been a growth of more than 24% in this sector. Make an accurate assessment of the tourists coming to the state. The trade show should be organized on a large scale on the lines of the UP Global Investors Summit.

Where a painful road accident took place on Saturday morning when a speeding car of car riders returning to Bulandshahr after attending a wedding in Etah district rammed into a truck running in front.     Seeing the accident happening, passers-by and local people running on the road rushed to the spot and informed the police about the accident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and all the five people trapped inside the car were taken out. After this all the injured were taken to the hospital. Where doctors declared two youths dead. So the same three injured were referred to the Medical College. Where the condition of all the three people is also said to be worrying. Police took both the dead bodies in possession and sent the dead bodies for postmortem.
