Patna (IANS). One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a massive bomb blast in Bihar’s Bhagalpur district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Tausif (17), a resident of Qureshi Mohalla under Babarganj police station area of the district. A bomb exploded in his house at around 6 pm. His mother Sultana Khatoon and uncle Abdul Mannan were injured in the incident.
Mohammad Abdul Ghani, the father of the deceased, told that he reached his house after hearing the loud sound of the explosion. “I found my wife and my brother badly injured, while my son was under the debris and died,” Ghani said.
After the incident, a team of Bhagalpur Police under the leadership of DSP City Ajay Kumar Chaudhary reached the spot and investigated the incident. The dog and bomb squad were also called to the spot to investigate the incident.
We are probing how and why the bomb was planted inside the house, Chowdhary said. We are looking for more bombs that could have been planted inside the house and debris.
The injured have been admitted to Mayaganj Medical College and Hospital for treatment, he said. His statement is awaited.
This is the second such incident in Bhagalpur. Earlier, two boys were injured in a bomb blast in a village under Madhusudanpur police station area of the district.

1 dead, 17 missing in floods in Nepal
Kathmandu: At least one person died and 17 others went missing in floods triggered by heavy rains in Sankhuwasabha district in eastern Nepal, local police said on Sunday.
Three more people were injured after the Hewa Khola river became swollen on Saturday night under heavy rains, said district police official Birendra Godar.
Among them, 18 people were working for a Hewa Khola hydropower plant under construction, which was submerged in floods and appeared badly damaged, Godar added.
Some houses, two motorable bridges and some livestock animals were also swept away in floods, the police official said, noting that the floods were raging unabated till Sunday morning, making the rescue operation difficult, Xinhua news agency reported.
The annual monsoon season usually starts in Nepal around mid-June, causing loss of lives and property in floods and landslides in the mountainous country.

Speeding car falls into Taladanda canal in Cuttack, 1 dead, 1 critical
One of the two injured persons in the car crash in Taladanda canal of Cuttack has allegedly lost their life.
A huge amount of cash has been recovered from the car, however, the exact amount of the cash recovered from the vehicle is yet to be ascertained.

Cuttack: Two people, including a woman, sustained serious injuries after a car they were travelling fell into the Taladanda canal in Cuttack district of Odisha today. The mishap reportedly took place between Matrubhaban-Nayabazar road.
According to sources, the car skid off the road and plunged into the canal as there was no barricades. Locals were able to pull people out of the car.
The locals rescued a woman and a man in the car and sent them to Cuttack Bada Medical Center. The condition of the man is said to be critical. Both the injured have been shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital.
