    Deoghar: Liquor is banned in Bihar. Smugglers are constantly taking advantage of this. In between, if action is taken against the smugglers, illegal liquor is also recovered in large numbers. Daily campaign is conducted against liquor smugglers in Bihar and smugglers are arrested and sent to jail. Still the morale of the smugglers is high. The latest case is of Madhupur station where the team of Commissioner of Railway Safety has seized a large number of Bengal made country liquor and beer from the train. In this campaign, 3 smugglers have been arrested.

    Illegal liquor seized from Howrah Mokama and Mithilanchal train

    On the basis of secret information, the team of Senior Divisional Security Commissioner of Asansol Railway Division conducted a special campaign in all trains stopping at Madhupur station located on Howrah-Delhi main railway route. Meanwhile, 210 bottles of Bengal-made country liquor were seized from the Howrah-Mokama train. 24 cans of beer were recovered from the same Mithilanchal train. Under this campaign, the security commissioner’s team has caught Rahul Kumar and Sonu Kumar, residents of Mokama, while liquor smuggler Santu Kumar, resident of Patna, has been handed over to the RPF. It is expected that this kind of campaign being run by the Railways can curb the smuggling of liquor through the railway route.

    Bhubaneswar: A huge cache of ganja has been seized by the Commissionerate Police from Dhauli on Friday, said reliable reports.

    The Commissionerate Police got a reliable tip-off in this regard and intercepted the vehicle with the ganja, said reports.

    As many as three cannabis dealers have been arrested in this case. Seizure of cars, cash, mobiles have also taken place.

    The police has seized as much as 60 kgs of ganja after raid at various places. The ganja was being transported from Kandhamal district to Puri district via Bhubaneswar the capital city of Odisha.

    A few days ago, a ganja smuggler was caught by the Mancheswar Police Station while driving a truck.

    The ganja was being transported in gunny bags resembling that of Pushpa film style.

    Visakhapatnam : The City Task Force (CTF) officials busted a gang that sells Pentazocine injections in Visakhapatnam.

    The officials took three persons involved in the case into custody.

    The accused were nabbed at Allipuram. The police seized ganja and about 2,000 ampoules of lactate injections and two mobile phones from the accused here on Saturday. The CTF officials handed over the case to II town police.

As per report, a team of police personnel, as per instruction of the Dhakuakhana Subdivisional Police Officer, at first launched an operation at Bakulguri village and seized 2.700 kg ganja and arrested a youth named Nikul Deury. Later, as per inputs from Nikul Deury, the team of police personnel launched another operation at Makarachuk village and seized 22.400 kg ganja from the possession of two women. The women have been identified as Meena Kalita and Nijumoni Baruah who were arrested during the operation. The second operation was launched with the assistance of women police personnel

    Cuttack: In a major success Commissionerate Police in Cuttack of Odisha foiled a robbery bid at a jewellery store and arrested 3 dacoits in this connection on Friday.

    Lalbag Thana Police nabbed the 3 miscreants from a field in the Kafla Bazar area while they were planning to execute the robbery. However, two others managed to flee from the scene. It was informed by Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra.

    The accused persons have been identified as Soumya Ranjan Sahu, Lokanath Nayak and Subrat Behera.

    As per reports, acting on a tip-off from reliable sources, Police personnel from Lalbag Police Station conducted a surprise raid at a field in Kafla Bazar area of Cuttack and nabbed the miscreants.

    Police have seized a country made gun, an air pistol, a live bullet, one bhujali (a sharp weapon) and 2 mobile phones from the possession of the culprits.

    Reportedly, they were planning to commit a robbery at a jewellery store in the Naya Sadak area.

    While Police have launched a manhunt to nab the other culprits, further investigation of the case is underway.

    New Delhi (IANS) | Three persons have been arrested for looting two kg of gold and Rs four lakh in cash at gunpoint from a jewelery shop in the national capital’s Nangloi village. The police gave this information on Friday. Outer Delhi DCP Harendra Kumar Singh said that the accused Paramjit, Nitesh and Abhishek were arrested from Mundka on Thursday. Singh said that about 2.59 grams of gold, Rs 30,000 in cash and guns were recovered from them.

    Singh said ACP Arun Kumar Choudhary and Inspector Praveen Kumar received a tip-off following which a raid was conducted in Mundka area and the accused were arrested.

    The accused Nitesh was also wanted in connection with the murder of a traffic police constable in Shahbad Dairy area. His associates Roshan and Rajat and Shabnam are absconding in this case.

    A source said that the accused had taken a rented house in Laxmi Park. Shabnam went to the jewelery shop several times. He and another did Reiki.

    According to the information, the incident took place on April 4 at around 1.30 pm. Shop owner Virender Verma told IANS that he along with his employees Jai Prakash Soni and Rahul were attending to customers when four masked men barged into the shop and threatened them at gunpoint.

    Virendra Verma further said that he asked me to hand over all the valuables and started picking up the gold ornaments. One of his associates was standing at the entry gate. They took all the gold and went out. Soon after, one of them came inside again and took the bag kept in our locker. I tried to chase them, but they fired while fleeing from the spot.

    The police have registered a case of dacoity and formed several teams. Police said that raids are being conducted to arrest the associates of the absconding accused.

    Cocaine worth Rs 20 crore seized in Mumbai, 3 arrested

    New Delhi (IANS) | The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Wednesday seized 1,970 grams of cocaine in Mumbai and arrested three people, including an African national, in this connection. The official said- Based on the intelligence gathered by the DRI, a passenger who arrived in Mumbai from Addis Ababa was intercepted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on April 4. On checking the luggage of the passenger, 1970 grams of white powder (cocaine) with market value of Rs 20 crore was recovered.

    In order to identify other members of the drug syndicate, the officials laid a trap and nabbed the recipient of the cocaine, the official said. The recipient had come to Mumbai from Hyderabad to get the drugs. This person was to deliver drugs to an African man in Navi Mumbai.

    Efforts were on to identify and nab the African man, who appeared to be a key member of the drug syndicate, the official said. To nab him, a trap was laid in Navi Mumbai and the criminal was successfully nabbed. DRI said that a total of three people have been arrested under the provisions of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is on in the matter.
