    In a love affair, the miscreant poured acid on the sleeping family, 4 injured

    Motihari (IANS) | A case of acid attack on a sleeping family by a mad miscreant has come to light in East Champaran district of Bihar. It is being said that this crazy married woman executed the incident after getting angry over her refusal to accompany him.

    In this incident, apart from the woman, her husband and two children were badly injured.

    According to the police, Raman Paswan, a resident of Pipra under Chakia police station area, was sleeping with his family on Sunday night. It is alleged that late night the miscreant attacked the sleeping family with acid. Apart from Raman Paswan, his wife Sheela Devi and two small children were badly burnt in the incident.

    Hearing the sound, people gathered around and took the whole family to the local hospital for treatment. After first aid, everyone has been referred to SKMCH Muzaffarpur for better treatment.

    A police officer told that prima facie the matter seems to be of love affair. He told that Mahesh Bhagat, a resident of Sahebganj police station area of Muzaffarpur, was having a love affair with Sheela Devi, a married woman.

    Bhagat wanted to take the married Sheela with him, but Sheela was refusing.

    Chakia station in-charge Dhananjay Kumar has told that the police is probing the whole matter. Since the incident, raids are being conducted to arrest the absconding accused.

    RAJOURI: Two Army personnel were killed and four others were injured in a blast triggered by terrorists during an anti-terror operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri on Friday, officials said.

    “The terrorists triggered an explosive device in retaliation. The Army team has suffered two fatal casualties with injuries to four more soldiers including an officer,” a statement by Northern Command said. Additional teams from the vicinity have been directed to the site of the encounter. The injured personnel have been evacuated to Command Hospital, Udhampur, it further stated.

    Indian Army is conducting relentless intelligence-based operations to flush out a group of terrorists involved in an ambush on an army truck in the Tota Gali area of Bhata Dhurian in the Jammu region, officials stated.

    “On specific information about the presence of terrorists in the Kandi Forest in the Rajouri Sector, a joint operation was launched on May 3, 2023. At about 7:30 am on May 5, 2023, a search team established contact with a group of terrorists well entrenched in a cave. The area is thickly vegetated with rocky and steep cliffs,” the official release stated. As per initial reports, a group of terrorists are trapped in the area. There is a likelihood of casualties in a terrorist group.

    The operation is underway. Further details are being ascertained, officials said. Earlier in the day, an encounter broke out between security forces and terrorists in the Kandi area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri.

    A 21-year-old woman died and four of a family sustained injuries when their car collided with another vehicle in the Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday.

    The victims were returning to their residence in Himachal Pradesh after paying obeisance at Mata Vaishno Devi shrine atop Trikuta hills. They said a traffic police vehicle, coming from the Katra base camp towards Jammu, collided with a car at Moori, injuring all five persons aboard.

    They have been identified as Vivek Kapoor (43), his wife Monika, their relative Shivani (21) and daughters Muktika (20) and Rashita (11). The injured were rushed to the community health centre in Katra where Shivani was declared brought dead, the officials said, adding that after initial treatment, the rest of the injured were referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital, Jammu, for specialised treatment. The police have registered a case and further investigation is on, the officials said.
