    CRPF DG reviews operational preparedness for Amarnath Yatra

    Srinagar: CRPF chief Dr. S. L. Thaosen on Sunday visited multiple camp locations at Baltal, Domail, Sarbal, and Neelgrath to review the operational and administrative preparedness of paramilitary force personnel deployed for Amarnath Yatra, a statement said.

    The visit to camps was aimed at assessing the arrangements and preparedness for ensuring an atmosphere of security and confidence for pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage, the CRPF statement said.

    “With the Yatra to commence in a few days, DG, CRPF reviewed the preparedness of the force himself to leave no stone unturned to ensure its successful conduct. This zealous endeavor stands as the CRPF’s resolute commitment in reinforcing the notion that the safety, security and welfare of the pilgrims remains paramount for the force.

    “In addition to assessing operational readiness, DG also reviewed the contingency drills of various eventualities for CRPF’s timely response in face of any unforeseen circumstances.”

    Emphasising on a zero-error policy, every aspect of security planning was scrutinised to mitigate any potential risks and ensure a seamless, secure and pleasant experience for the pilgrims.

    The DG laid special emphasis on disaster management preparedness for any natural calamity that may arise.

    “CRPF’s comprehensive disaster management protocols were reviewed for its swift and timely response to mitigate the impact of any adverse event like that of last year’s cloud burst. This proactive approach would ensure that the SANJY-2023 remains resilient in the face of challenges prioritising safety and well-being of devotees,” the statement added.

    Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir for preparations for Amarnath Yatra

    Srinagar (IANS) | Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. During this, he will preside over a high-level security review meeting regarding the security preparations for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra. According to official sources, the Amarnath Yatra will begin from July 1. It is being told that this meeting will be held on Friday, while the Union Home Minister is going to visit the cave temple the next day.

    On the other hand, Amit Shah will also review the preparations made for the stay and security of the pilgrims on Saturday. Will also visit Baltal base camp.

    Information is being received that during his visit, Home Minister Amit Shah will also meet delegations of political parties and civil society. The delegation will include people from Gujjar, Bakarwalsand and Pahari communities.

    Explain that in view of this VVIP tour, the security forces have been kept on high alert.

    Personnel Fully Geared Up To Ensure Smooth Conduct Of Amarnath Yatra: BSF DIG

    Border Security Force personnel are fully geared up to ensure smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra in Jammu and Kashmir which is scheduled to start on July 1, a senior officer said here on Wednesday.

    Hundreds of BSF personnel participated in a yoga session held at the Octerio Border Outpost here on the occasion of the International Day of Yoga.

    “We want our soldiers to stay healthy and fulfil their duties efficiently. We have included yoga in our daily routine and it helps our soldiers stay stress-free,” said BSF Deputy Inspector General Chiter Pal on the sidelines of the event here.

    About the upcoming Amarnath pilgrimage, the DIG said, “Our biggest challenge is Amarnath Yatra which is starting from July 1. We have made full preparations for that. Our jawans are fully geared up and alert.”

    The annual pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir will continue till August 31. The journey can be undertaken through two routes — the traditional 48-km route through Pahalgam in south Kashmir’s Anantnag and the 14-km shorter but steep Baltal route in the Ganderbal district of central Kashmir.

    Barfani Baba Amarnath Yatra is going to start from 30th June. Where fitness certificate has been made mandatory for pilgrims going on Amarnath pilgrimage. The process of issuing fitness certificate required for going on Amarnath Yatra will be started from Monday at Surat Navi Civil. In which medical fitness certificate will not be given to persons below 13 years and above 75 years of age and pregnant women and persons undergoing bypass surgery or having stents.

    Fitness certificate started in civil for Amarnath Darshan

    Thousands of devotees visit Amarnath Dada every year when the darshan of Barfani Baba of Amarnath begins on June 30. Due to being at a high altitude amidst the snow, necessary guidelines have been given by the government. Under which the government has made it mandatory for the pilgrims going on Amarnath Yatra to take medical fitness certificate from the government hospital. Then the devotees going on Amarnath Yatra from Surat city and district are required to take fitness certificate from Civil Hospital. Due to which fitness certificates will be started from Monday, April 17, at Surat’s Civil Hospital to pilgrims desirous of Amarnath Yatra.

    Thousands of devotees go for darshan from Surat

    Every year thousands of pilgrims from Surat city and surrounding areas visit Amarnath. Last year more than 3000 pilgrims came to Surat New Civil Hospital for medical fitness certificate, this year special arrangement has been made by civil hospital for fitness certificate of pilgrims. Superintendent Dr. Ganesh Govekar said that from Monday, April 17, fitness certificates will be issued at the old trauma center.

    Special arrangements were made to ensure that the devotees do not face any problem.

    It was further said that arrangements have been made for case windows, lab rooms, ECG and medical examination under one roof, so that the devotees do not face any problem. Fitness certificate will be issued from Monday to Friday from 9 am to 12 noon. No fee will be charged. For this, Amarnath Yatris have to bring in person 4 passport size photographs, ID proof (one out of Aadhaar card, PAN card, voting card, driving license) in original and Xerox copy and mandatory health certificate form (two copies) .

    Fitness certificate will be given as per the guidelines of the government

    According to the guidelines of the government, fitness certificates will be given to the devotees. According to which people below 13 years and above 70 years of age as well as pregnant women, people undergoing bypass surgery and stents will not be considered as claimants for Amarnath Yatra Fitness Certificate.
