    Maha Sunstroke Tragedy: Amit Shah Condoles Death Of Attendees At Award Event

    Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday expressed grief over the death of some attendees of the Maharashtra Bhushan award event due to sunstroke in Navi Mumbai a day earlier. At least 12 persons have died while two others are battling for life, officials said on Monday.

    The function, held in Kharghar area in Raigad district neighbouring Mumbai, was attended by Shah on Sunday where he conferred the Maharashtra Bhushan award (the highest civilian award of the state government) on social worker Appasaheb Dharmadhikari. “The death of people who attended yesterday’s Maharashtra Bhushan award function has deeply saddened me. I express my condolences to the families of the deceased. I pray for the recovery of those who are currently being treated,” Shah tweeted. Lakhs of people from various parts of Maharashtra attended the award ceremony and sat under the blazing sun in the open ground.

    Mumbai: The ‘Maharashtra Bhushan’ award event in Navi Mumbai on Sunday turned tragic with the death of at least 11 people apparently due to sunstroke as the function, attended by lakhs, was held in an open ground.

    The function held in Kharghar area in Raigad district neighbouring Mumbai was attended by Union home minister Amit Shah who conferred the award on spiritual leader and social reformer Appasaheb Dharmadhikari.

    A police official said a couple of patients are on ventilator support at hospitals in Navi Mumbai and Panvel city and their condition is being monitored.
    “At least 11 deaths apparently due to sunstroke have been confirmed,” the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said in a release on Sunday night.

    The police official said some patients were discharged after recovery, while some remain admitted in hospitals and are under observation.

    Before the CMO release, Shinde had told reporters outside a hospital in Navi Mumbai that at least 50 people were admitted there out of which 24 are still hospitalised while the rest have been discharged after primary treatment. He termed the deaths “very unfortunate”.

    The nearest weather station to the spot of the event recorded a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius.
    Shinde said the kin of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 5 lakh.
    “Medical treatment of the people under treatment due to sunstroke will be free. The state will pay from its coffers for their treatment,” he said.

    Haridwar: Yog guru Baba Ramdev organized Sannyas Diksha Mahotsav in Haridwar. On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah performed Havan with Baba Ramdev. Amit Shah also inaugurated the newly constructed building of Patanjali University. Shah said he is happy to see that ancient Indian knowledge will derive new energy from the “army” of young sanyasis prepared by Patanjali.

    He said Ramdev’s individual contribution to yoga, Ayurveda and swadeshi was more than an institution could do for them. Shah praised Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishna for his extensive research work in the field of Ayurveda, saying he had published more than 500 research papers on Ayurveda.

    Shah performed a havan at Patanjali Yogpeeth before beginning his address. Earlier in the day, Shah hailed the central government’s New Education Policy for its emphasis on learning in the mother tongue and universal education based on the teachings of Indian visionaries such as Mahatma Gandhi and Dayanand Saraswati. Addressing the 113th convocation of the Gurukula Kangri here, Shah credited the university (deemed to be) for the revival of vedic education in India and combining it with modern education.

    Shah paid tributes to the university’s founder Swami Shraddhanand saying he set India’s education system free from the stranglehold of the British and revived the country’s vedic education system, all the while emphasising culture and modern education.

    The home minister also addressed a programme at Rishikul to mark the total computerisation of 670 cooperative centres. “It has been done in just 17 months. I heartily congratulate Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health and Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on this achievement,” Shah said. Shah gave the credit for this achievement to the separate cooperative ministry set up under the leadership of the prime minister. Computerisation of cooperative platforms will lead to total transparency and greater fiscal discipline, Shah, who is also the Union cooperative minister, said.

    HARIDWAR: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Thursday said, “The new education policy has been made streamless and classless, with multiple entries and multiple exits being a special part of it”.

    Shah was speaking as the chief guest at the 113th convocation of Gurukul Kangri University in Haridwar wherein he presented undergraduate degrees to 99 students, postgraduate degrees to 100 students, Ph.D. degrees to 56 students and gold medals to 83 students.

    Speaking on the occasion, Shah further said that the education policy has been created in such a way because Prime Minister wants the youth to get a platform on which they can stand up and compete at the international level and make the motherland proud”.

    Shah further said, “Gurukul Kangri Sansthan, the foundation of which was laid by Swami Shraddhanand, continues to impart education on the principles of Maharishi Dayanand and as a result of that today this university is becoming a great ‘Vat-vriksh’ and spreading the message of Maharishi Dayanand and our mythological education system to the whole country and the world”.

    “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come up with a new education policy, which imbibes Maharishi Dayanand’s vision of accessible education and Shraddhanand’s message of amalgamation of Vedas and science”, Shah added.

    “Many opportunities have been created for the youth in the country through Start-up India, he said and added that in 2016, there were 724 start-ups in the country, in 2022, this number has increased to more than 70,000. More than 10,000 start-ups were formed during the period of the pandemic and 44 percent of these start-ups are run by women.

    “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to increase the pride of both India and ‘Indianness’ all over the world”, Shah claimed.

    Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said, “Today, under the tireless efforts of Home Minister Amit Shah and under the guidance of the Prime Minister, the whole of India feels internally secure on the one hand, more organized and confident than before”.

    Dehradun (IANS) | Due to partial change in the program of Union Home and Cooperative Minister Amit Shah, Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat instructed the officers to speed up the preparations for the program at UKCDP Directorate Dehradun Auditorium today.

    Giving information, Cooperative Minister Uttarakhand Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that earlier Union Home Minister Amit Shah had a proposed visit on March 31. But due to some reason now he will come to Devbhoomi 1 day earlier i.e. on 30th March. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the computerization work of 600 multipurpose cooperative societies at Nyay Panchayat level in the state of Uttarakhand.

    Due to the change in the programme, the cooperative department of the state has started finalizing the preparations for all the programmes. In view of the Union Minister’s visit to Uttarakhand, Cabinet Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat gave necessary guidelines to the departmental officers regarding preparations related to the launch of the program and various schemes.

    State’s Cooperative Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat told that now on March 30, Union Home Amit Shah is reaching Uttarakhand. During this, he will inaugurate various schemes of the Cooperative Department from Rishikul Maidan, Haridwar. He informed that the work of computerization of multipurpose cooperative societies in 670 Nyaya Panchayats across the state has been successfully completed. Which will be launched online by the Union Minister for Cooperation.

    With the launch of this scheme, farmers across the state will be able to get various facilities under one roof through committees. Along with this, the establishment of Jan Suvidha Kendra and Jan Aushadhi Kendras in 95 MPEX of the state will also be inaugurated by the Chief Guest. Apart from felicitating the progressive farmers who have done excellent work in the field of agriculture and horticulture in the programme, checks will also be distributed to the beneficiaries who have received loans at zero interest rate under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kisan Kalyan Yojana. The department minister said that the chief guest Under the State Integrated Cooperative Development Project, joint cooperative farming operations will also be started in all 95 development blocks.

    During the meeting, Secretary Cooperative Dr. BVRC Purushottam, Registrar Cooperative Alok Pandey, Additional Registrar Ira Upreti, Anand A.D. Shukla, Managing Director UCF Kumari Ravindari Mandrawal, Joint Registrar MP Tripathi, Neeraj Belwal, and other departmental officers were present.

    Minister Dr. Rawat has instructed Joint Registrar MP Tripathi to camp in Haridwar from today itself. So that minute by minute arrangements are operated properly.

    Bidar (IANS) | Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday blamed the Congress and the BRS for ignoring the sacrifices of the martyrs who freed Hyderabad from the Nizam’s rule. Amit Shah made this statement during the inauguration of the Gorta Martyr Memorial and the statue of the country’s first Home Minister late Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at Gorta village in Bidar district of Karnataka. Amati Shah also hoisted the 103 feet high national flag on the occasion.

    Addressing the gathering, Amit Shah recalled that hundreds of people from Gorta were killed by the Nizam’s army for hoisting a small flag. Today we have hoisted a huge flag here.

    Amit Shah hit out at the Congress party for ignoring the sacrifices of hundreds of people who laid down their lives for the liberated areas under the Nizam’s rule after the rest of the country got independence.

    Shah accused the Congress, due to vote bank politics, the Congress never paid respect to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the Hyderabad liberation struggle.

    Shah did not even spare the ruling BRS party in Telangana. Shah said that the Telangana government has been continuously refraining from celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day, but the BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been celebrating it in Telangana since last year.

    Promising to build a grand memorial with an outlay of Rs 50 crore if the BJP is voted back to power in Karnataka, Shah said Hyderabad Liberation Day next year would be celebrated at Gorta.

    The event was attended by former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa and Telangana BJP chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar, among others.

    Bengaluru (IANS) | Declaring war on drugs, Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the fight against drugs would be successful only when it is taken to the people. Addressing a regional convention of southern states titled ‘Drugs smuggling and national security’ here, Shah said, “Our sea routes should not be allowed to be used for transportation of narcotics. The Navy and the police of some states will have to intervene.

    The Home Minister said that many ships traveling between Pakistan and Iran are often loaded with narcotics, which are supplied from Sri Lanka to the US. This has to be stopped, Shah insisted, otherwise we cannot stop drugs from entering India.

    Shah said, “We cannot take this matter lightly. If the drug, whoever is selling it, is not destroyed, it will be sold here. Our aim is to weaken drug peddlers anywhere in the world.” Should be.” The Home Minister also said that he was pained that the provisions of the NDPS Act were not being fully utilized by the states.

    He said, I appeal to all the states and concerned departments to unite in the campaign against drugs, other intoxicants, culprits and addiction. Timely response is the need of the hour. Shah said that though tackling the drug menace is the primary responsibility of the Home Ministry, other departments like revenue, social welfare, education and culture should join hands with the health department to eliminate this menace.

    Shah also warned the states to be careful about seized drugs as the Home Ministry is getting information that drugs are being stolen from police custody at some places. On the occasion, Shah gave the go-ahead to destroy 9,298 kg of seized drugs worth Rs 1,235 crore.

    New Delhi, (IANS) | Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday inaugurated Maa Sharda Devi Temple in Kupwara through video conferencing. Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha was also present on the occasion. Shah said on the occasion that with the establishment of peace after the abrogation of Article 370 with the efforts of PM Modi, the Valley and Jammu are once again returning to their old traditions, civilization and Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb.

    Amit Shah started his address by wishing the countrymen for the new year. He said that today on the occasion of New Year, the newly constructed temple of Maa Sharda has been opened for the devotees and this is an auspicious sign for the devotees from all over India. He said that today the inauguration of Maa Sharda’s temple is the beginning of a new era.

    The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that the architecture and construction of this temple has been done according to mythological scriptures under the aegis of Sharda Peeth. The idol of Sharda Maa, donated by the Sringeri Math, has been brought here on a journey since January 24 till it was installed here today. He said that the reconstruction of Maa Sharda’s temple in Kupwara is a necessary and important step towards the discovery of Sharda-civilization and promotion of Sharda-script.

    Amit Shah said that once upon a time Sharda Peeth was considered the center of knowledge in the Indian subcontinent, scholars from all over the country used to come here in search of scriptures and spiritual knowledge. He said that Sharda script is the original script of our Kashmir, which has also been named on the basis of mother’s name. This is one of the Mahashakti Peethas and according to beliefs, the right hand of Maa Sati fell here.

    The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that Sharda Peeth has been a historical center of India’s cultural, religious and educational heritage, Modi government will move in the direction of opening Sharda Peeth for devotees like Kartarpur Corridor. Shah said that in line with the commitment of social and economic transformation, the Modi government has taken initiatives in all areas of Jammu and Kashmir, including the revival of culture. Under this, systematic restoration and repair work is going on at 123 identified places, which include many temples and Sufi places. He said that in the first phase, 35 places were being renovated at a cost of Rs 65 crore.

    Amit Shah said that the zeal with which Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha has worked to implement all the flagship schemes of Prime Minister Modi is praiseworthy. He said that Manoj Sinha has played a huge role in bringing industrial investment in Jammu and Kashmir.
