    Masked robbers absconded with loot, cash and jewelery at gunpoint

    Amritsar. The incident of loot has come to light early in the morning in Amritsar. According to information, masked robbers looted the owner of Verka booth at Green Avenue at gunpoint and fled from the spot. The entire incident was recorded in the CCTV cameras installed nearby.

    It is clearly visible in the CCTV footage that two robbers who have covered their faces with saffron colored cloth. One of the robbers has a pistol while the other has a sharp weapon. They point a pistol at the Verka booth owner and decamp with gold jewelery and Rs 10,000 in cash. According to the information, this incident has been executed by 3 robbers. Out of which 2 robbers were carrying out the robbery at gun point. While the third robber was sitting on the bike. As soon as the incident of robbery was executed, all three ran away sitting on the bike.

    This incident happened around 5 in the morning. Vehicles carrying the supply of milk from the Verka Milk Plant reached the Verka booth located at Green Avenue Park. Meanwhile, three masked men reached there riding a motorcycle. The information of this incident has been given to the police. Police is investigating the matter after reaching the spot. The police is also examining the CCTV footage. CCTV cameras installed in the area are also being scrutinized so that some information can be found from the movement and motorcycle of the robbers.

    Two gangsters arrested with country made pistol in Amritsar

    CIA staff have arrested two alleged gangsters and recovered a country-made pistol from their possession.

    They were identified as Sahil Gardela and Mangal Singh of Gujjarpura locality here. Besides a .32 bore country-made pistol, the police also confiscated four live bullets from them.

    The police said Gardela belonged to the gang of gangster Simranjit Singh Jujhar while Mangal Singh was brother of another notorious criminal Shama Don. The police said Gardela had three cases of attempt to murder and cases under the Arms Act registered against him while Mangal Singh had a case registered against him under the NDPS Act.

    A case under Sections 25(6), (7), (8), 54 and 59 of the Arms Act was registered against them at the Division C police station here. The accused were produced in a court and brought on police remand for further interrogation.

    A young man was shot at a minor argument in Amritsar

    A minor altercation over a trivial issue led to firing on the 88 ft road falling under the Sadar police station here late last night.

    A youth, identified as Suraj, was injured in the incident. Following initial probe, the police have booked six persons, while no arrest has been made so far.

    Those booked have been identified as Happy Kalyan, Tejinder Nihangi, Harry Anda, Shubham Sharma and their two unidentified accomplices.

    Prince Uppal, brother of the victim, told the police that he used to run a stall of coconut water at Ranjit Avenue. He said he was on his way back home around 10.30 pm yesterday. His brother was following him on another bike. When they reached near the 88 ft road on the Majitha road, the suspects met them near a vacant plot. He said he had a minor altercation with them over a trivial issue.

    He said the suspects started a scuffle with him, while Shubham took out a pistol and fired at him. The bullet hit his brother Suraj in the chest. The accused then fled the spot leaving a scooter behind. He rushed his brother to a private hospital.

    The Sadar police authorities said an investigation was under way to ascertain the reason behind the scuffle. Raids were on to nab the suspects.

    A case has been registered under Sections 307, 148 and 149 of the IPC and Sections 25, 27, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
