    The Gurugram police on Thursday arrested an employee of a financial advisory company for allegedly shooting at his co-worker after an argument over a chair in office.

    The accused has been identified as Aman Jangra, a resident of Hisar. “We are questioning the accused. He will be produced in a city court on Friday,” said Dr Kavita, ACP, east.

    Vishal was critically injured after getting a bullet shot in his chest. An FIR was registered.

    Srinagar: The police in Jammu and Kashmir along with security forces have arrested two terrorist associates linked with terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Sumlar area of Bandipora and recovered incriminating materials and two Chinese grenades from their possession, an official said on Saturday.

    “Acting on specific information regarding the movement of terrorist associates, the police along with Army (14RR) and CRPF at a checkpoint intercepted two suspected persons identified as Abrar Ahmad Wani a.k.a Abu Qadir and Danish Pervaiz, both residents of Sumlar in Bandipora,” a police officer said.

    “During checking, two Chinese grenades and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody,” the official said.

    A case has been registered and further investigation initiated.

    The Rohtak police have arrested a city resident whose name floated in a fraud case in Mumbai.

    The arrested suspect was identified as Aditya, who along with his accomplices had allegedly defrauded 12 residents of nearly Rs 8 crore.

    Mohit and 11 others had lodged a complaint in this regard at the Urban Estate police station in Rohtak on August 17, 2022. The complainants had alleged that Rahul, Aditya, Hardeep and Jatin had defrauded them of nearly Rs 8 crore in the name of investment in a stud farm, a dog farm and dry fruits business. They also assured the complainants of giving interest on the money taken from them till the opening of the farms, but did not.

    The police had registered an FIR under Sections 406, 420 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.

    A police team, led by head constable Dinesh, arrested Aditya from Mumbai on March 21 and efforts are being made to arrest the others named in the FIR.

    Fake notes worth Rs 25 lakh have been seized from Ahmedabad. Zone-2 DCP of the city has arrested four people with fake notes. The business of fake notes has once again been caught in the city. The accused used to print fake notes from the printing machine at home. Not only this, the network of printing fake notes was started by the methods shown in the fake web series.

    On the basis of information police seized fake notes

    Even before the circulation of fake notes in the market, four accused have been arrested from Chandkheda area with a huge amount of fake notes. The team of Zone-2 DCP Scord received information that late last night a person named Shailesh Christian was going to pass through Chandkheda area with fake notes in an eco car. On the basis of which, after checking the Eeco car, Shailesh Christian found 20 bundles of fake notes of Rs 500 to Rs 10 lakh from a bag.

    Fear of interstate connection

    During interrogation of the accused Shailesh, he told that with the help of his friend Parang alias Paco Vania and two other friends, he was preparing duplicate notes with color printer machine by renting a house near Dastan Circle. The note turned out to be fake as it was without watermark. Further investigation has been started by seizing duplicate notes of Rs 25 lakh from the four accused.

    Out of the four accused, two accused are residents of other states.

Since two of the accused are from other states, it is also suspected that there is an inter-state link.

    Police seized fake notes and started investigation

On one hand the Chandkheda police has arrested the accused with a huge quantity of fake notes, while on the other hand the Sardar Nagar police has also arrested three accused of making fake notes. Among these accused, Bharat Chavda, a resident of Banaskantha and Ahmedabad, has a criminal history. A total of seven accused have been arrested in the fake currency case and efforts are on to get to the bottom of the investigation.

    Shimla, 21 March. Drug addiction made a boy a monster. He brutally murdered his own father. The accused attacked the father with a liquor bottle, due to which he was badly injured and died shortly after. The young man also made a fatal attack on his grandmother. Due to this she is injured. On the complaint of the grandmother, the police reached the spot and arrested the accused.

    According to the police, 22-year-old Navpreet, who lives in Vikas Nagar, Shimla, killed his 44-year-old father Vijay. The deceased Vijay was earlier posted in the government department and had taken retirement. The wife of the deceased had left the house long back. It is being told that both father and son were drug addicts. On Monday, there was a dispute between father and son over some issue and it turned into a murder case. Asha Bhatia, the mother of the deceased Vijay, has said in her complaint that she lives in Kaithu and came to Vikasnagar to meet her son. When she entered the room, she saw that her son Vijay was lying on the bed and the room was covered in blood. According to the complainant, he asked his grandson Navpreet who was present in the room about this, then he attacked him with a cooker. After this, Asha Bhatia informed the police about the incident.

    Confirming this, SP Shimla Shimla Sanjeev Gandhi told on Tuesday morning that the body has been taken into custody and sent for postmortem. A case of murder has been registered in this matter. Action is being implemented by registering a case against the accused Navpreet under sections 302 and 323 of the IPC. Preliminary investigation has revealed that both father and son were drug addicts. Various aspects of this incident are being thoroughly investigated.

    MUMBAI: Mumbai Police on Monday nabbed suspected bookie Anil Jaisinghani from Gujarat, days after his daughter Aniksha was arrested for allegedly trying to blackmail and bribe the wife of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, an official told PTI.

    A crime branch official confirmed to PTI that Anil Jaisinghani, who has 14 to 15 cases pending against him, was nabbed from Gujarat but refused to divulge details.

    Mumbai Police had on March 16 arrested Aniksha Anil Jaisinghani, a designer, after Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta accused her of offering a bribe for intervening in a criminal case and also threatening her.

    Aniksha has been booked under Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) and Section 385 (extortion) of the IPC and Sections 8 (induce public servant using corrupt means) and 12 (abetment) of the Prevention of Corruption.

    Interestingly, as per the FIR, Amruta wore designer clothes and jewellery offered by Anishka at promotional events and even released a book by her. Both were allegedly in touch since 2015 and Anishka was a frequent visitor to the Fadnavis’ official bungalow. Amruta has alleged that after she blocked Anishka’s number, the latter began to threaten and conspire against her and her husband.

    2 Patwari arrested on charges of corruption

    A unit of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB), Karnal, has arrested two patwaris of the land acquisition branch for allegedly demanding and accepting bribe for releasing the balance payment of the land, which was acquired for a project by the government.

    Giving details, Inspector Sachin said Shiv Kumar, a resident of Jamawari village in Hansi, presently posted in Hisar, and Ashok Kumar, patwari in the land acquisition office Panchkula.

    Shiv Kumar was arrested red-handed while accepting Rs 5 lakh from the complainant on Saturday in Karnal. The deal was finalised for Rs 20 lakh. It was the first instalment.

    During the investigation, the role of Ashok Kumar was also established and some evidence was found against him, after which he was arrested on Sunday, Sachin added. Shiv Kumar was taken on two-day police remand, while Ashok Kumar will be produced in the court on Monday, he added.

    “We have registered a case under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act and 384 of the IPC at the Karnal ACB police station. The investigation is going on to determine the involvement of others in this case,” said Sachin.

    The CBI has arrested a 35-year-old PhD scholar from Thanjavur in Tamil Nadu for allegedly raping children, officials said Saturday.

    The agency had registered a case against the accused for allegedly creating and circulating child sexual abuse material in electronic form, they said.

    The CBI had found child sexual abuse images and videos from the Interpol database. Its further analysis using digital forensic tools gave the location of the incident to Thanjavur district.

    The agency conducted searches on the premises of the accused which led to the recovery of incriminating electronic gadgets, officials said.

    It was alleged that the accused was sexually abusing a child for the last four years whose nude videos and photographs were uploaded on his Google account.

    It was further alleged that the accused forced two minors (a boy and a girl) to perform sexual acts on them as well as on other minors, including a girl, the officials said.

    The accused then clicked the photographs and videos and forced them to bring more girls else he would publish this material on the Internet, the officials alleged.
