    Despite being jailed, Atiq murder accused active on social media

    Pratapgarh: Lovelesh Tiwari, one of the accused in the murders of gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, is active on the social media despite being lodged in the Pratapgarh jail.

    The Banda police are said to have taken serious cognisance of the contents posted on Tiwari’s social media accounts over the last two weeks.

    The posts are inflammatory and hateful in nature, according to the police.

    One of the accounts with the name “Maharaj Lovelesh Tiwari ChuChu” has been locked.

    SP Banda Abhinandan said the police were trying to look for the person handling Tiwari’s social media accounts.

    “We have started an investigation. This is serious,” he said.

    Human blood stains found in Atiq Ahmed’s office: Forensic report

    Prayagraj: In a shocking development, the forensic examination report has confirmed that the blood stains found in the partially demolished office of gangster Atiq Ahmed in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj district was human blood, police said.

    The report was handed over to the Special Investigation Team late on Wednesday night.

    The blood stains and a blood smeared knife was found inside the office in Chakia on Monday after which the forensic team was called in to take the samples.

    Police sources said that investigations had revealed that the demolished and abandoned building was being frequented by some local drug addicts.

    The police have detained some of the addicts for interrogation and some of them had injuries.

    The development follows days after Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were shot dead by three men while they were being taken for medical examination in Prayagraj by a police team. The two brothers were in police custody and the entire shooting was captured live on camera.

    Prayagraj: Uttar Pradesh Police on Sunday said that shooters who killed mafia turned politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf on Saturday night were posing as Journalists at the spot of the incident.

    “Shooters were posing as journalists. As Atiq reached for a check-up, they were surrounded by other journalists and got close to Atiq and his brother. One was having a camera and was posing as a cameraman. While one was roaming with a mike where it was written NCR News. Third was assisting both,” police sources said.

    “As Atiq reached the hospital, reporters started questioning them after 2 lines, one guy fired on his head from very close and Atiq fell down. Another two guys also threw the camera and mike and started firing,” sources mentioned.

    Days after Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad was killed in an encounter in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi, the mafia-turned-politician and his brother Ashraf Ahmed were killed on Saturday while being taken for a medical in Prayagraj.

    Atiq Ahmed was accused in the 2005 BSP MLA Raju Pal murder case and also in the Umesh Pal murder case which happened in February this year.

    In the aftermath of the incident Uttar Pradesh Government on Sunday imposed Section 144 of CrPC in all the districts.

    In this regard UP Police have mentioned that a total of three arrests have been made.

    Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also appealed to the public to avoid paying attention to the rumours.

    “He also directed the police officials to remain vigilant and maintain law and order in the state,” UP Chief minister’s office statement said.

    UP Government on Sunday also imposed Section 144 in all the districts of Uttar Pradesh.

    Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has announced a three-member judicial commission that will probe the murders of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf in presence of the police and the media on Saturday night.

    The state has been put on high alert and senior officials, led by Principal Secretary, Home, Sanjay Prasad are rushing to Prayagraj to supervise the situation.

    Jhansi: Uttar Pradesh Police in the wee hours of Saturday took the bodies of the mafia turned politician Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and his aide Ghulam to the mortuary in Prayagraj.

    As per the visuals, two ambulances and an Uttar Pradesh police van were seen taking the bodies to the mortuary in Prayagraj.

    Earlier Atiq Ahmed’s son Asad and his aide Ghulam wanted in the Umesh Pal murder case, were killed in an encounter with UP Special Task Force in Jhansi on Thursday, a plan was foiled to help the jailed gangster to escape, Uttar Pradesh Police said.

    State’s Special Director General (Law and Order) Prashant Kumar revealed that teams of civil police and special forces were deployed following the intelligence inputs of a plan by Asad of planning to free his father Atiq Ahmed by attacking a police convoy midway as the gangster turned politician was being brought in Uttar Pradesh for hearing.

    “We had information that to help the accused Atiq and Ashraf escape there could be an attack on the police convoy bringing them back to UP in the case (Umesh Pal murder case). In view of this information, teams of civil police and special forces were deployed,” said Prashant Kumar.

    Revealing further as to how the encounter took place, he said that based on the information, two teams were deployed and Asad was intercepted, while he was on a bike along with his aide Ghulam.

    “Action was taken on the basis of information and at around 12:30 and 1 pm the duo were killed in a retaliatory firing,” Kumar said, adding that the Special Task Force conducted the entire operation.

    Each of them carried a reward of Rupees five lakh. The police said that foreign-made weapons were recovered.
