    Woman dies after drowning in the pond

    Bastar. A woman has died due to drowning in a pond in the district. It is being told that the woman had gone to bathe in the pond. When she did not return for a long time, her husband and other family members went out to find her. There they found the dead body floating in the water. Information about the matter was given to the police. Divers pulled out the body. Then after the postmortem, the dead body was handed over to the relatives. The matter pertains to Nagarnar police station area of the district.

    According to information, Sukhmati, a resident of Nakti Semra in the district, had gone to bathe in the pond at around 1 pm. Her husband Mehtar had gone to fish farming center located at Dogriguda Kurandi 2, about half a kilometer away from Nag village. He works as a watchman there. On the other hand, when the woman did not return home till evening, the relatives informed the woman’s husband about it. The husband returned home. Then along with other family members he reached near the pond.

    There the woman was searched. A villager of the village saw the dead body of the woman floating in the pond. Whose information was given to everyone. Then the relatives informed the police and a team of jawans and divers reached the spot. Divers fished out the body of the woman. After which the dead body was sent for postmortem. It is being told that the post-mortem of the dead body has been handed over to the relatives. However, the police is trying to find out how the woman drowned in the water.

It is being told that hemp was being smuggled from the Bolero vehicle. The smugglers were bringing the ganja from Odisha by hiding it in three big plastic bags. Bastar police arrested 5 smugglers as soon as they crossed the border on the information of the informer. The matter pertains to Nagarnar police station area of the district. According to information, the police had received information that a large quantity of ganja was to be smuggled through a Bolero vehicle. On the basis of which the soldiers of Nagarnar police station were put on duty at the CG-Odisha border. Vehicles coming from Odisha were being searched. Meanwhile, a Bolero from Odisha was coming towards Jagdalpur. The police stopped the car. 5 people were sitting in the vehicle. On questioning, they revealed their names as Nityanand Namah (35), Tapan Das (40), Chiranjeet Mandal (27), Sampat Nag (37) and Naresh Rai (22). All are residents of Odisha. After which the police searched the vehicle. Three plastic sacks were kept on the rear seat of the vehicle. The soldiers searched the sacks. Out of which 75 kg ganja was recovered. After which the police caught the five accused. On enquiry, everyone told that the ganja was being brought from Odisha. All have been produced in the court and sent to jail.

In the case of ration scam worth crores of rupees, instructions have been issued for recovery after investigation. At a time when arrangements have been made for zero leakage from the beneficiaries of ration shops. Meanwhile, this kind of big ration scam raises question marks. Officials claim that ration is being distributed through online system, but how this ration disappeared in such a situation is also a big question.
