    Begusarai. A sudden fire broke out in a mini bus on Thursday near NH 31 located at Kapasya Chowk in Nagar police station area. As soon as the fire broke out, an atmosphere of chaos arose on the spot. People started running here and there to save their lives. A stampede-like situation arose on the spot due to a sudden fire in a moving mini-bus. The passengers sitting in the bus somehow saved their lives by jumping from that bus. At present, the local people have controlled the fire in the bus with the help of the fire department. The bus has been removed from the middle of the road. At present, after this incident, there is an atmosphere of chaos on the spot.

    In relation to the incident, it is said that on Thursday afternoon, a moving minibus suddenly caught fire near NH 31 located at Kapasya Chowk. After the fire broke out, the passengers in the bus somehow managed to jump out of the bus. During this, the front part of the bus started burning in flames. The information of this incident was given to the fire department. The fire brigade personnel who reached the spot have brought the fire under control with the help of the local people. It is not yet clear how the mini bus caught fire. At present, the police of the city police station has reached the spot and started investigating the whole matter. Inspector Arjun Kumar of the city police station present there has told that information was received that suddenly a bus caught fire at Kapasya Chowk.

    Arjun Kumar, the sub-inspector of Nagar police station, is being told to the local media that the mini bus was going from the bus stand to Zeromile with a passenger, when suddenly the bus caught fire. As soon as the fire broke out, a big accident was averted due to the presence of mind of the driver and by stopping the vehicle at the same place, the passenger was taken out of that bus. As soon as the information about this incident was received, the fire was brought under control after a lot of effort by the fire personnel. He told that there is no information about any casualty in this incident. The driver and the helper of the mini bus are absconding from the spot.

    Patna (IANS) | A team of police and excise department, which went to raid a village in Bihar’s Begusarai district, was heckled and attacked by villagers. After this, the police fired several rounds in the air and lathicharged to disperse the crowd. The incident happened on late Sunday night. Villagers got into an altercation with a joint team of Excise and District Police that went for raids at a wedding ceremony.

    The raid was conducted after receiving information that liquor was being served at the function.

    During the raid, Matkor program was happening in Bhagwanpur block. District Police and Excise Department reached the spot in four vehicles and raided. They detained some people.

    After the incident, a large number of villagers gathered on the spot and surrounded the police. As they were surrounded by a large number of villagers, they fired several rounds in the air to escape. The district police also lathicharged the villagers.

    Jitina Kuma, a villager who was present on the spot said, Matkor program was going on in Bhagwanpur block when the joint team came there. He picked up some men during the program and tried to take them away. Many women were also present there. His behavior was not proper. He did not give valid reasons for the arrest which enraged the villagers. The local police fired several rounds in the air. We have recovered several cartridges from the spot.

    When contacted, the local police in Begusarai refused to comment on the matter.
