    Bemetara. A woman died after coming in contact with an electric wire in Bemetara. After the incident, anger was seen among the villagers. The villagers protested by blocking the chakka. Former state cabinet minister Dayaldas Baghel also participated during the protest. The protesters have demanded 50 lakh compensation from the government for the relatives of the deceased.

    Actually, this whole matter is of Padkidih of Bemetara. In Padkidih, a woman died after coming in contact with an electric wire adjacent to the ground. Woman incident: The woman was going to the farm on Friday at 12 noon. That’s why she got scorched after coming in the grip of an electric wire hanging 3 feet below in the field. The woman died on the spot. The name of the deceased is being told as Lakshmi Bai Sahu (26).

    After the incident, the relatives and villagers expressed their displeasure towards the electricity department. The villagers blocked the Nawagarh Bemetara main road in protest. Seeing the incident, Bemetara’s SDM Suruchi Singh, electricity company officials and police officers reached the spot. The dead body has been handed over to the relatives after post mortem.

It is being told that the electric wire in the field was bent, due to which the woman got electrocuted. The accident is of Nawagarh police station area. According to the information received, the electric wire was bent in the field of village Padkidih. The villagers had complained about this to the electricity department.

    But the electricity department did not take any action and the woman who went to work in the field on Friday became a victim of the accident. The villagers did a blockade, while the angry villagers blocked the Bemetara-Navagarh main road. The villagers have demanded a compensation of Rs 50 lakh. Let us tell you that former minister Dayaldas is present at the protest site along with his supporters.

    At the same time, four cattle died after coming under the grip of live wire in Godi village of Korba. Actually, the hunters had laid electric wire in the forest to hunt the animals. Carcasses of four cattle have been recovered near the wire. Presently the forest staff is probing the matter.
