    Empowering Rural Women: Poultry Feed Production Unit commenced in Mingachal RIPA

    Bijapur. Taking a significant step towards achieving financial independence, the women of the Maa Danteshwari women self-help group associated with Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park of village Mingachal, have initiated a poultry feed production unit. With an investment of Rs 5 lakh, the women are delighted to commence their entrepreneurial venture.

    In previous years, as part of the district administration’s initiative, women from various Gram Panchayats and villages in the district are actively engaged in egg production. Currently, they have to purchase poultry feed from the market. Keeping this in view, the concept of establishing a poultry feed production unit by the Women Self-Help Group can prove to be a commendable entrepreneurial decision.

    Smt. Devki Thakur, the President of Maa Danteshwari Self-Help Group, has expressed immense satisfaction with their association in the poultry feed production unit at Mingachal RIPA. This RIPA scheme has played a pivotal role in eradicating poverty and making women self-reliant.  

    During the inauguration of the poultry feed production unit, technical expert veterinary officer Dr Shiv Shankar and NRLM Block Program Manager Rohit Shori were present.

Gauthans have positively impacted the rural economy, and women associated with self-help groups are walking on the path of economic empowerment.
     
    The women belonging to the Siddhi Self-help Group from Patharra village under the Chhuikhadan development block in the Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district have become economically self-reliant. They have earned profits from the purchase of cow dung and the manufacture of Vermicompost. So far, the members of the group have manufactured about 643 quintals of Vermicompost and about 65 quintals of super compost. They have earned a profit of Rs. 2 lakh 50 thousand with the sale of 67 thousand 560 kg of manure.
     
    The women of the group are also engaged in poultry farming in RIPA (Mahatma Gandhi Rural Industrial Park). They are using the earned income for farming and other domestic work. Encouraged by the earnings made by women through poultry farming, other local women are also discovering better livelihood opportunities.

Various livelihood-oriented activities carried out in Gauthans have bought more job opportunities. Rural women are becoming financially independent by finding work close to home. Women are no longer bound to household responsibilities but are contributing to family finances and making their lives easier.
     
    Under the State Government’s Suraji Gaon Yojana, the Gauthans established in villages are now presenting a new picture of development. Various activities conducted in these Gauthans include the collection of cow dung and taking care of the animals. Four years ago, ten women from the Kasturba Self-Help Group decided to work in Gauthan of Sirpur village in Mahasamund district of Saraipali district panchayat. The group now earns lakhs from the sales of cow dung and by making vermicompost. Along with this, income-generating activities such as the cultivation of vegetables and poultry farming are also conducted. A member of the group stated that earlier they were bound to household chores, but after joining the group and working in Gauthan, their self-esteem and confidence have improved, and they are now heading towards self-reliance by working in Gauthan.

Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel virtually distributed appointment letters for the post of assistant teachers to 142 youths belonging to special backward tribes ‘Pahadi Korwa’ and ‘Birhor’ of Jashpur district in a program organized at his residence office here today. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, during the meeting in Bagicha, had announced the appointment of youths belonging to special backward tribes on direct recruitment posts. Following which appointment letters were distributed to 142 youth today.

    It is worth mentioning that even before this, appointments have been given to the candidates of hill Korva tribe in various government departments of Jashpur district on 57 posts according to their eligibility. So far, 708 youths belonging to special backward tribes have been given government jobs in the state. Tribal Development Minister Dr. Prem Sai Singh Tekam, Industry Minister Kawasi Lakhma and Director of Tribal Development Department Mrs. Shammi Abidi were also present on the occasion at the Chief Minister’s residence. Parliamentary Secretary U.D. Minj and MLA Vinay Bhagat joined the program through virtual medium from the venue.

    Addressing these youth through video conference, the Chief Minister said that education is the only medium that brings change in life. Education only paves the way forward. Mr. Baghel said that you people studied under adverse circumstances. May the blessings of your parents also be with you. You have become a teacher, teach the children with all your heart so that the children have a good future. The Chief Minister said that several schemes have been made by the state government for the upliftment and development of special backward tribes.     Chief Minister Baghel said that the tribal society is traditionally a backward society in the race for development. In this society some communities have been left far behind. We know these communities as Special Backward Tribals. Multidimensional efforts are being made by the state government for the upliftment of the special backward tribes of the state. Educated youth of these communities are being given direct appointment in government services according to their eligibility.

    The Chief Minister said that to ensure the rights of water-forest-land for the upliftment of tribals, we have implemented the best rules of PESA law. The purchase and processing of 65 types of forest produce at the support price is providing employment and good means of income to the forest dwellers. Arrangements have been made for their purchase by fixing the support price of Kodo-Kutki-Ragi. Input subsidy is also being given for these crops under the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana. The Chief Minister said that these youths have done their studies in very difficult circumstances. Getting appointed as assistant teacher will increase the enthusiasm for studies in these communities.

    Tribal Development Minister Dr. Premsai Singh Tekam while addressing the program said that the state government is running several schemes for the upliftment and development of the tribal community. He asked the youth to educate the coming generation as a teacher and motivate children to study. Parliamentary Secretary Shri U.D. Minj and MLA Shri Vinay Bhagat while addressing the program said that in order to connect the people of Pahadi Korva and Birhor community with the mainstream, the state government has provided appointment letters to 142 youths of these tribes.     Commissioner of Tribal Welfare Department, Smt. Shammi Abidi said that maximum 199 youths belonging to special backward tribes have been given government jobs in Jashpur district. Similarly, jobs have been given to 95 youths of these tribes in Balrampur district and 80 in Kabirdham district. Collector Jashpur Dr. Ravi Mittal said that among the youths of special backward tribes who were given jobs today, 124 passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination, 11 passed graduation and 06 passed post graduation included Pahadi Korwa. Appointment has also been given to 01 candidate of Birhor community. Who has passed Higher Secondary Certificate Examination.

Mr. Brajkishore Ram of village Kalia of Bagicha development block, who was appointed as assistant teacher, told Chief Minister Mr. Baghel that his parents got him educated till graduation by working as agricultural laborers. He was earlier appointed as a guest teacher through the Mineral Trust Fund.

    Mr. Vijay Kumar, a resident of Navrangpur village of Bagicha development block and appointed as Assistant Grade 3, said that he could not complete his engineering studies due to financial constraints, his parents worked as agricultural laborers and under MNREGA to complete his graduation. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched the ‘Chief Minister Chhattisgarhi Parv Samman Nidhi Yojana’ for non-scheduled areas of the state in a virtual program organized at his residence office here today. This scheme has been started on the lines of Mukhyamantri Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi Yojana with the aim of preserving and promoting Teej-festivals, culture and tradition of rural areas. ‘Chief Minister Chhattisgarhi Parv Samman Nidhi Yojana’ will be implemented in 6 thousand 111 gram panchayats of 61 development blocks of community areas of non-scheduled areas of the state. The unit of this scheme will be Gram Panchayat. To celebrate Teej festival, an amount of Rs 10,000 will be given to every gram panchayat in two installments under this scheme.

    On the occasion of the launch of the scheme, the Chief Minister released a total amount of Rs. Along with this, Chief Minister Baghel has given 03 thousand 793 gram panchayats of remaining 14 districts of scheduled areas including Surguja division of scheduled area under ‘Chief Minister Adivasi Parv Samman Nidhi’ as first installment at the rate of 05-05 thousand rupees today. A total amount of Rs 01 crore 89 lakh 65 thousand was also released. With this, this scheme has been implemented in the entire state. It is noteworthy that Chief Minister Mr. Baghel while inaugurating the ‘Chief Minister Adivasi Parab Samman Nidhi Yojana’ at the Bharosa Sammelan held in Bastar on April 13, 1840 gram panchayats of Bastar division will get Rs.     Addressing the program, Chief Minister Baghel said that the work of preserving the culture and traditions of Chhattisgarh is very important in the development of Chhattisgarh.     The Chief Minister said that our folk festivals and our folk culture are connected with nature. Our forefathers have cherished Teej festivals on the basis of their experience. Our Teej-festivals start from Hareli and go on till Holi in Phagun. More festivals are celebrated in Sawan and Bhadon, because this is the time when our farmers and laborers work hard, there is fatigue in the body and there are also economic problems. It is important to organize festivals at this time because everyone gathers together and celebrates festivals so that they can forget the stress.

    The Chief Minister said that when we preserve and promote Teej festivals, we will also connect with nature. Climate change is a major challenge before us today. In such a situation, the protection of nature becomes even more important. The Chief Minister said that although an amount of Rs 10,000 is being given under the Chhattisgarhi Lok Parab Samman Nidhi, it is not a huge amount, but due to the Chhattisgarhi Teej festivals being organized through the Panchayats, people are following their tradition, our new generation is adopting its tradition. And connect with nature.

    He said that for the last few years only rituals were performed to celebrate the Teej festivals of Chhattisgarh. People were getting separated from these festivals. This is the reason why the state government has started organizing Teej festivals for their protection. Today, Sarpanch of Bhendiya Navagaon of Balod district, Mrs. Arya told that she comes to Chief Minister’s residence every Teej. Earlier Teej festivals of Chhattisgarh were not organized in the Chief Minister’s residence.

    The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarhi Olympics were organized this year with the aim of promoting Chhattisgarhi sports, in which 26 lakh people of different age groups took part. A provision of Rs 25 crore has been kept in the budget for the Chhattisgarhi Olympics. During the meeting, many women shared their experiences and said that they used to participate in sports at their maternal home, they had missed playing at their in-laws’ house.     Addressing the program on this occasion, Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that a lot of work has been done under the leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Baghel for the protection of Chhattisgarh’s identity, culture, food habits, lifestyle and Teej festivals. Appreciating the scheme, Sarpanches said that the culture of Chhattisgarh has been promoted under the leadership of the Chief Minister.     Raipur. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that in view of the heat in more than 10,000 Gauthans of Chhattisgarh, arrangements for fodder, water and shade should be made for the animals. Chief Minister Mr. Bhupesh Baghel has instructed all the collectors of the state and the Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat to visit the Gauthans and make arrangements for green fodder, sheds and water there along with Para. He said that Gothan should be approved in dependent villages of Panchayats as per the demand.

    Chief Minister Mr. Baghel was addressing the online transfer ceremony of Rs. 4 crore 40 lakh to cattle rearing villagers, women groups and Gauthan committees under Godhan Nyaya Yojana in a virtual program organized at his residence office here today. He said that a meeting of the Gothan committees should be held compulsorily for conducting the economic activities in Gothan. The Chief Minister expressed happiness over the fact that more than half of the Gauthans in the state have become self-supporting. Looking at the summer season, he said that the work of filling water from the canals in the ponds should be done at a fast pace, due to which the availability of water will remain and the water level will increase. Agriculture Minister Shri Ravindra Choubey also addressed the program.

    It is noteworthy that 10 thousand 6 hundred and ninety gothans have been approved in 11 thousand panchayats of the state. Out of which more than 10 thousand gothans have been completed. In these Gauthans, 5 thousand 3 hundred 98 Gauthans have become self-supporting, through which assistance of Rs 50 crore 82 lakh has been given to buy cow dung. From April 1 to April 15, a total of 1.30 lakh quintals of cow dung has been purchased in Gauthans. In lieu of which, out of the amount of Rs. 2.59 crores to be transferred to cow dung vendors, Rs. 1.24 crores has been paid by the Agriculture Department and Rs. 1.67 crores by self-supporting Gothans.

    In 49 gothans of the state, units for making paint from cow dung have been approved, out of which 34 units have been established. Paint is being produced in 32 units. 87 thousand 8 hundred 27 liters of paint has been produced from these units and an income of Rs 97.08 lakh has been earned from the sale of 47 thousand 5 hundred 47 liters of paint. Water arrangements have been made in 20.20 lakh quintal para and 7 thousand 8 hundred 59 gothans in 33 districts of the state.

    Under the Godhan Nyay Yojana, about Rs 439 crore 73 lakh has been paid to the beneficiaries in the state so far. Till April 15, 2023, 112.34 lakh quintal cow dung has been procured in Gothans in the state. Rs 224 crore 68 lakh has been paid in lieu of cow dung purchased after the transfer of today’s amount from cow dung vendors. On the other hand, an amount of Rs 192.65 crore has been given to Gauthan committees and women self-help groups after the payment of Rs 1.81 crore made today.
