  • Controversy in Bihar over Baba Bageshwar’s ‘Hindu Rashtra’ statement

Controversy in Bihar over Baba Bageshwar’s ‘Hindu Rashtra’ statement

Patna (IANS) | Religious preacher and Baba Bageshwar Dhirendra Shastri’s statement of ‘Hindu nation’ has created a huge controversy in Bihar. On the first day of his discussion in the state, Shastri advocated making India a Hindu nation. He said, one day a saint told me that I talk about Hindu Rashtra, but how is it possible? I told him that India is already a Hindu Rashtra and soon it will be announced.

This statement has created a big controversy. Leaders of various political parties have reacted sharply to this on Sunday.

RJD’s national spokesperson Mrityunjay Tiwari said, we have apprehensions about Dhirendra Shastri’s visit to Patna that he will talk about creating division in the society in the name of religion. Our guess is proving correct. He has come to Patna to carry out the political agenda of BJP and RSS.

Tiwari said, I want to tell them that this is the land of Bihar, the birth place of Mahatma Buddha and the work place of Mahatma Gandhi. The people of Bihar will not let the self-proclaimed angel run his agenda. Before making a political statement, he should see the results of the Karnataka elections in which Bajrang Bali got angry at the BJP for dragging his name into politics. India is governed by law and constitution. Will he change the constitution to make India a Hindu Rashtra?

JDU spokesperson Abhishek Jha said, this country runs on the constitution made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar in which people of every religion have equal rights. Religion is a matter of belief. It is neither a Hindu nation nor an Islamic nation. We believe in the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb and the possibility of all religions.

Shastri has come to Patna for Hanumant Katha in Naubatpur area.

He is the Peethadhish of Bageshwar Dham located in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh.
