Something similar happened in Torva police station area of Bilaspur on Wednesday night. The speeding car hit the divider and overturned. Two people in the car have suffered serious injuries in the accident.

    After the accident at Torva Chowk, the people around informed the Torva police station. After which he was admitted for treatment at District Hospital Bilaspur, where his treatment is going on. Eyewitnesses told that the car was coming at a very high speed and overturned after climbing a foot high divider. He told that such accidents often happen at the place of occurrence, but no initiative is taken in this direction by the responsible people and the Bilaspur traffic department. Because of this, such incidents are continuously coming to the fore.

This work will be done till June 21 and 22, 2023 (02 days). As soon as this work is completed, the punctuality and speed of the trains will increase. Due to this work, the operation of some passenger trains will be affected. Whose details are as follows:-

    Canceled trains:-

    1) Train number 08227/08528 Raipur-Visakhapatnam-Raipur passenger special leaving Raipur and Visakhapatnam on June 22, 2023 will remain cancelled.

    2) Train number 18530 / 18529 Visakhapatnam-Durg-Visakhapatnam Express leaving Durg and Visakhapatnam on June 21, 2023 has been cancelled.

    Late running train :-

    1) Train number 12807 Visakhapatnam-Nizamuddin Express scheduled to leave Visakhapatnam on June 22, 2023 will be delayed by 02 hours 30 minutes.

    2) The Railway Administration expresses regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers and expects cooperation.

    Bilaspur. The High Court has stayed any adverse action against the Deputy Collector posted in the district. The High Court has issued a notice to the Commissioner of Durg and the Collector of Kawardha seeking their response. On May 16, the General Administration Department issued a notice to Deputy Collector Rekha Chandra, posted in Raigad district, asking her to produce a disability certificate issued by the District Medical Board as per the provisions of Section 91 of the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016. He has challenged the notice issued by the General Administration Department in the High Court through Advocates Matin Siddiqui, Diksha Gaurah and Zainab Vanak.

    The petition states that the provisions of Section 91 of the Act are not applicable to the petitioner in this case. He is the Deputy Collector in Raigarh District since the year 2019. He had produced a certificate of 43 per cent disability. A complaint was made to the Chief Minister in August 2019 for obtaining the certificate illegally. After this, a physical examination was conducted at the Divisional Medical Board Rajnandgaon of Durg division. 57 percent disability has been mentioned in the certificate issued by the board. He has also been issued a certificate of Bilateral Moderately Severe Hearing Loss. After proper departmental inquiry into the complaint made against him, a detailed inquiry report had also been given to the commissioner.

    Even after this, the Under Secretary of the General Administration Department has issued a notice questioning the authenticity of the disability certificate. While hearing the matter, Justice PP Sahu’s bench has prohibited any adverse action against the Deputy Collector. Also issued a notice seeking reply.

The police seized gold jewelery worth Rs 3 lakh from the accused and the motorcycle used in the incident. According to the police, all the accused are habitual criminals, against whom many cases of robbery have been registered in different districts. Along with this, he has also gone to jail many times.

He told the police that he was coming to Bilaspur with a ride, when a young man was forced to sit in an auto by another boy at Chhatauna turn.

So, he dropped the youth on the roadside near Gumber Petrol Pump. Police have seized the auto (number CG 10 T 4233) and are questioning the driver.
