It will help if Assam CM did not poke his nose into Manipur: Chidambaram

Congress leader P. Chidambaram on Sunday took a dig at Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma over his remarks on Manipur that peace will return in a week and saying it will help if he did not poke his nose in the violence-hit state.

Chidambaram, who is a former Union Home Minister, also said that it would help if Manipur Chief Minister N, Biren Singh resigned as the CM and President’s Rule was imposed in the northeastern state for a few months.

In a tweet, Chidambaram said, “CM, Assam has promised that peace will return to Manipur in a week. It will help if CM, Assam did not poke his nose into Manipur’s conflict and stayed away. It will also help if Biren Singh resigned as CM and President’s Rule was imposed for a few months.”

His remarks came after Sarma on Saturday said the situation in neighbouring northeastern state of Manipur will improve within 7-10 days, with the state and central governments working “silently” to restore peace.

He had hit out at the Congress and alleged that the opposition party was showing its concern when “relative peace has come in the northeastern state”.

Congress leader accuses Defense Minister of lying in Chhattisgarh

Raipur. The Congress has hit out at Union Minister Rajnath Singh’s statement on increasing conversions in Chhattisgarh. Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla accused the Defense Minister of lying and said that conversion took place in Raman Raj. The RSS people do the gimmick of conversion by wearing the robes of priests. He is a Union Minister, why doesn’t he make a law on this by talking to PM Modi?

It is clear that BJP wants conversion to happen in Chhattisgarh. Congress Communications Department President Sushil Anand Shukla said on the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers to Chhattisgarh that Union Ministers are coming to Chhattisgarh to fulfill their political objectives. Small-fat ministers often roam here, but they did not tell how much the people of Chhattisgarh would benefit from the schemes of their department. Even the Lok Sabha MPs do not take advantage of his visit in their respective constituencies. Union Ministers are baking bread by coming here only for politics.

On Dr. Raman Singh’s statement that coming of Rahul Baba will not make any difference in Chhattisgarh, Sushil Anand Shukla said that Raman Singh should see what is his condition here. There has been a change in the life of the people of the state under the Congress rule. BJP does not make any leader stand in front of CM Bhupesh. They are not even making Dr. Raman Singh, who was CM for 15 years, a small face.

  • Modi’s TS tour to revive BJP

Modi’s TS tour to revive BJP

Hyderabad: Aiming to win the ensuing Assembly elections in the state, Telangana BJP is set to intensify its activity from July 8, the day Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be addressing a public meeting in Warangal. Modi will lay foundation stone for Kazipet Wagon Overhauling Centre and address a mammoth public meeting on the day. Modi will also lay foundation stone for the Mega Textile Park in Warangal on the same day. The Telangana government has sanctioned adequate lands to both the centrally-sponsored rail and textile projects for which the Centre would invest more than Rs 1,000 crore.

Soon after receiving information from the PMO about Modi’s visit to Telangana, the BJP state unit is planning to mobilise huge crowds to make PM’s public meeting a grand success.

On the other hand, the BJP high command has also turned its attention to the growing dissension in the party and is likely to call a meeting of state leaders in Delhi to iron out the differences. BJP national president J P Nadda will be visiting Warangal to review the arrangements.

Modi will also hold a brief meeting with a select party leaders to discuss the strategy for the upcoming Assembly elections in Telangana.

It may be mentioned here that state leaders like Dubbaka MLA Raghunandan Rao and AP Jitender Reddy are unhappy for ‘their services are not being used properly’ by the party.

They feel that the high command is giving importance to juniors and the new entrants like Eatala Rajender and Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy while ignoring seniors like them.

Raghunandan Rao wants to be included in the national executive in the rejig of party and government at the Centre which is on cards. He said he has been exposing the omissions and commissions of the BRS government, including the scam in Outer Ring Road project. Stating that he too has threat to his life, the Dubbaka MLA says that the Centre, however, has given ‘Y’ category security only to Bandi Sanjay and Eatala.

Meanwhile, Jitender Reddy released a video, which had gone viral on the social media, in which a buffalo is seen being kicked when it refuses to get into a truck and once inside, the door was shut. He feels that it was the situation in the party now.

Hence, the high command feels that this kind of open dissension was against the BJP culture and hence it needs immediate remedial measures.
