As soon as the information is received, the SDRF team is reaching the spot to help the passengers. A devotee who came from Noida to Kedarnath on Chardham Yatra lost his way at Garud Chatti. As soon as the information was received, the team of Uttarakhand SDRF rescued the devotee by becoming ‘angel’. After which the SDRF team took the passenger to the main road.
On the other hand, as soon as the weather turns bad, the passengers are being stopped at the halts by the administration. Passengers are being sent for onward journey after the weather clears. Many times the pilgrims go astray on the Chardham Yatra route. Chamoli: Terrestrial inspection of Chardham Yatra route done by DM and SP
Today, on 25.04.23 District Magistrate Chamoli Himanshu Khurana and Superintendent of Police Chamoli Pramendra Dobal visited the Chardham Yatra road and reviewed the travel and security arrangements. During this, on-the-spot inspection of construction works of basic facilities (toilets, water, medical, ATMs, rest houses etc.) collected on the yatra route was done.
After taking stock of the main halts and accident-prone/sensitive places on the yatra route, the concerned departments were directed to rectify the arrangements there. District Magistrate Chamoli and Superintendent of Police Chamoli inspected the tourist police outposts, duty points, passenger registration centers etc. on the Chardham route and reviewed the accommodation and other arrangements of the employees there.
During the inspection, appropriate guidelines were given by the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police to all the departments and agencies related to the yatra regarding smooth, safe and uninterrupted yatra. During this, Deputy Superintendent of Police Karnprayag Amit Saini and officers were present.

Ski Mountaineering Association is collaborating with the state of Uttarakhand in this marathon. Apart from Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra, Delhi, the Indian Army, ITBP, NDRF, Uttarakhand Police, SDRF and the Garhwal Scout Battalion of the Army have definitely given the message that Joshimath is safe. 02-day special training being given to Home Guard and PRD jawans for Chardham Yatra
Thana Srinagar and Devprayag area are the main stops of the Chardham Yatra. The Yatra of Badrinath Kedarnath is operated from Devprayag-Srinagar only. Because of which the responsibilities of the police force posted here increase even more. In view of which, in view of the safe completion of the upcoming Chardham Yatra-2023, the police personnel appointed in the yatra, before being posted on the yatra route, under 02-day special training at Mahila Thana Srinagar, under disaster rescue, behavior of police with tourists, Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Information about first aid, information about traffic rules and route diversion in case of disaster is being given.
The said 02-day training was inaugurated by Senior Superintendent of Police Shweta Choubey on 10.04.2023. Police personnel were directed by Madam to treat tourists and general public like friendly police, to provide all possible help and protection to them, to be in a state of preparedness in case of disaster. Similarly, on 11.04.2023, training will be given to police personnel under the training programme.
