    Raipur. Vicious thief Raja Meghani alias Bharat Meghani, who stole batteries and tires from parked vehicles, has been arrested. According to the information, information was received from the Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit that a person near Narmadapara railway station under Thana Ganj area is looking for a customer in the interest of selling batteries and tires of vehicles. On which Additional Superintendent of Police City/Crime Abhishek Maheshwari, in-charge Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and station in-charge Ganj were directed to verify the information and take necessary action.

    On which, under the direction of senior officers, a joint team of Anti-Crime and Cyber Unit and Thana Ganj Police went to the said place and arrested the person of the character mentioned by the informer. During interrogation, the person told his name to be Raja Meghani alias Bharat Meghani resident of Ganj Raipur. On inquiring about the battery and tire kept with him by the team members and demanding documents, the team members were constantly being misled by him by not presenting any kind of document, on which he was strictly questioned. The battery and tire were told to be stolen from different places in Raipur. On which the accused Raja Meghani alias Bharat Meghani was arrested and 04 pieces of stolen battery, 05 pieces of tires and 09 pieces of insect paana jumla worth about Rs. Ja.F./379 Bhadvi. Action has been taken against the accused after registering the crime. The accused Raja Meghani alias Bharat Meghani is a habitual thief, who has been jailed in different police stations in the past in theft cases.

According to the information received, 11 coaches selling liquor in different police station areas have been arrested and sent to jail. Police said that action has been taken in village Diggi, Dhaurabhatha, Deotarai, Lavanban, Nayaktand Latuwa, Pangaon, Sudheli and village Bamhanmudi. In the same Kochi, 195 pav country spice liquor and 55 liters of Mahua liquor have been seized.

    According to the information, beautification work is going on in the pond near Chodha-Barhamuda road, where 30-year-old Ramprakash Markam, a resident of Chodha’s dependent village Chhindpani, used to drive a tractor. On Monday he was dumping soil from the tractor. After the work was over, the driver Ramprakash was preparing to go home. The tractor was at a very high speed, due to which it overturned uncontrollably.

    Chandrakant Markam, the elder brother of the deceased, told that Ramprakash has a wife and a 3-year-old son. Hardi Bazar police station reached the spot and got the tractor pulled out of the pond through JCB. After great difficulty, the dead body was taken out from under it. Under the ambitious Suraji Gram Yojana of the government, 336 Gothans have been constructed in the rural areas of district Bilaspur. In which drinking water, fodder, shade etc. have been arranged for basic facilities. In which the work of treatment and vaccination of sick animals is done from time to time by the veterinary department. Out of these 336 Gothans, Godhan Nyay Yojana is being operated in 319 Gothans, in which cow dung is being purchased regularly by the registered cattle rearers at the rate fixed by the government at the rate of two rupees per kg. Since the inception of the scheme, 3 lakh 21 thousand 516 quintal cow dung has been purchased and against the purchase of cow dung, Rs 6 crore 39 lakh 76 thousand has been paid to about 8 thousand cattle herders. So far 76 thousand 530 quintal vermi compost, 16 thousand 503 quintal super compost, 393.40 quintal super compost plus have been produced from the purchased cow dung, out of which 58 thousand 413 quintal vermi compost, 15 thousand 698 quintal super compost, 46.30 This has been sold to Quintal Super Compost Plus. Village Gothan committees have earned Rs 3 crore 50 lakh 19 and self-help groups have earned Rs 2 crore 20 lakh 46 from the sale of the said manure.

    In this regard, the Department of Fisheries has allocated a 10 year Patta on rural pond watershed 0.500 to the Ganga Self-Help Group of Duldula development block’s village Sarhapani in 2019-20. 12 members of the group have undertaken pisciculture. The department has also provided the group with four dragnets and fish seeds at 50% subsidy. The group is producing 1500 kg of Rohu, Catla, and Mrigal Carp per year, and their sale is yielding them a yearly profit of Rs. 2 to 3 lakh. The group has been engaged in pisciculture for the last three years, and now the members of the group are enjoying a comfortable life with their families because of their appreciable income. They have expressed their gratitude to the Chhattisgarh Government and district administration.
