Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday virtually participated in the meeting organized under the chairmanship of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding drug trafficking and national security. Governors, Lieutenant Governors and Chief Ministers of various states and union territories were present in the meeting. Expressing gratitude to the Union Home Minister for organizing the meeting on this very important subject, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the Government of India is working strictly against drug trafficking and its fruitful results are also being seen continuously. Are. The state government is also making effective efforts to stop drug trafficking in Uttarakhand and destroy its system. A target has been set to make Uttarakhand drug free by 2025, for this work is being done at every level with a plan.
The Chief Minister said that while on one hand awareness is being increased among the people and especially the youth against drugs, on the other hand strict action is being taken against the criminals involved in drug trafficking. So far this year, ND 586 cases have been registered under PS Act, in which 742 accused have been arrested. A three-tier Anti-Narcotics Task Force has been constituted in the state of Uttarakhand in the year 2022 for drug prevention and effective action in this regard. The State Government has approved the Mental Health Manual in Uttarakhand. De-addiction centers are being made effective in all the districts of the state to prevent drug addiction and to connect drug addicts with the mainstream and for rehabilitation. Counseling and seminars are also being organized specially in the jails of Uttarakhand to make the prisoners free from drugs.
The Chief Minister said that at present four Integrated Rehabilitation Centers for Addicts are operational in the state. Addiction treatment facility is also being operated in the state with the help of AIIMS New Delhi and currently 10 beds are functional in AIIMS Rishikesh. Approval has been given by the Central Government for the operation of ATF in Uttarkashi, Champawat, Almora and Srinagar. He also expressed his gratitude for the cooperation being given by the Central Government to Uttarakhand. The Chief Minister said that anti-drug club committees have been formed in educational institutions operating in every district of the state, in which aware students, parents, teachers and principals of the institution have been included as members. On the occasion of World Anti-Drug Day, the state government administered ‘Anti-Drug E-pledge’ to 01 lakh 25 thousand youth. A proposal has been sent to NCERT by the Government of Uttarakhand to include the subject of drugs in the syllabus from class 06 to class 12. Helpline numbers have also been issued for drug prevention and information regarding it and for any kind of help to the general public and these are also being disseminated.

Narendrajit Singh Bindra met Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami
Uttarakhand. The President of Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust Shri Narendrajit Singh Bindra called on Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at the Secretariat on Tuesday. He requested to send off the first batch of Shri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra starting this year. The first batch of the yatra will leave from Rishikesh on 17 May 2023. He said that the doors of Shri Hemkunt Sahib would open on May 20. Extending good wishes to everyone for a happy journey to Hemkunt Sahib, the Chief Minister said that all necessary arrangements have been made on the route for the Hemkunt Yatra.
President Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib Shri Narendrajit Singh thanked the Chief Minister for the arrangements made by the state government for the convenience of Hemkunt pilgrims. He also informed the Chief Minister about the infrastructure development works done by the government at Yatra Marg Shri Hemkunt Sahib Gobind Dham, Gobind Ghat and other places. He informed that the helipad has been constructed in Gurudwara Shri Hemkunt Sahib last year, which will be completed in the year 2023. Railings have been constructed on the 6 km route from Gobind Dham to Sri Hemkunt Sahib. The places where the width of the turn was less have been improved. The work of a separate route of 500 meters for the yatra is also going on fast. The work of horse halt has also started in Gobind Dham. Sanitation and health facilities have been developed. A temporary parking for passenger vehicles has also been constructed this year by the district administration at Govind Ghat. An X-ray machine and a mobile pathology lab have also been installed by the government in Gobind Pat Gurdwara Hospital. One RO for pure drinking water for passengers.
