    CM inaugurated Brahmin Sadan, announces many welfare measures for the community

    Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said Brahmana Samkshema Parishad was established to ensure welfare and development of Brahman community, especially people, who were below poverty line in the community. The Brahmana Samkshema Parishad was set up on February 1, 2017. Since then Rs.100 crore was being allocated annually to implement different welfare and development programmes for Brahmin community in the State, he said after formally inaugurating the Viprahitha Brahmin Sadan at Gopanpally here on Wednesday.

    Telangana is the only State in the country to set up an exclusive Brahmin Sadan. Telangana Government has set a new benchmark in ensuring the welfare of Brahmin community, he said.

    People from the community can perform marriages and other functions for free at the Kalyana mandapam in the Sadan. This apart, there is an auditorium, information centre and Seer’s accommodation centre on the premises, which is spread across nine acres.

    Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister announced that the monthly honorarium of veda or Shasta pandits will be increased from Rs. 2500 to Rs.5000. This apart, the eligibility age for beneficiaries under the scheme would be cut down from 75 to 65 years.

    The Chief Minister said currently the assistance under Doopa Deepa Naivedhyam programme was being extended to 3645 temples in the State and shortly the assistance would be extended to 2796 temples, he said. With this, 6441 temples would be covered under the programme.

    “I will also announce another good news. Under the Doopa Deepa Naivedhyam programme at present Rs.6,000 is being extended for Archakas for maintenance of temples. This will now be increased to Rs.10,000. I hope this news will make you all happy,” Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said, amidst cheers and whistles from the gathering.

    The Chief Minister further said the Rs.2 lakh assistance being extended for operations and maintenance of Veda Patashalas, would now be made an annual grant. The Government has also decided to extend to fee imbursement for students pursuing education in ITMs and IIMs, he said.

    The Chief Minister also assured that Anuvamshika archakas issues would also be discussed in the cabinet and addressed at the earliest.

    All India Brahmin Federation president Dr Pradeep Jyothi hailed Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s move to construct an exclusive Brahmin Sadan.

    “This is first of its kind initiative by a State Government. We also thank the Chief Minister for implementing several welfare and development programmes, especially overseas education scheme for students and entrepreneurs support scheme Brahmin community,” said Pradeep Jyothi.

    In other States, political parties and leaders announce many schemes for Brahmin community during elections but once results were declared, they do not fulfill the assurances. On the contrary, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao acts proactively and was striving for welfare of all communities, he said.

    THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will visit Cuba as part of his foreign tour. He will go to Cuba after his visit to the USA. The foreign tour of the Chief Minister and his team is scheduled from June 8 to 18. It is reported that the Health Minister will accompany the Chief Minister on his trip to Cuba. The state will approach the central government for permission to travel. The Chief Minister had earlier cancelled his scheduled trip to the UAE as he did not get permission from the Centre.
    An eleven-member team, including the Speaker and the Finance Minister, will be part of the Chief Minister’s foreign tour. The group of ministers will participate in the regional conference of the Lok Kerala Sabha in the United States and the discussion with the World Bank. The Chief Minister abandoned the trip to the UAE after the Centre denied permission stating that the Chief Minister’s participation in the investor meeting was not important.

    Speaking to reporters during his campaign at Shivapura village in Chamarajanagar, he said the Congress is blaming the BJP for not treating (former) Lingayat leaders of the party — Jagadish Shettar and Lakshman Savadi — properly, forcing them to quit and join the Congress. “They are making such statements with political interest, but the Lingayats will never believe them.

    If the Congress tries to blackmail Lingayats, it will be taught a lesson. It should stop its ‘use and throw’ technique. What happened to Veerendra Patil, Rajashekhar Murthy, and Nijalingappa,” he questioned. Responding to talks over announcing Somanna as the next chief minister, the Lingayat leader mentioned, “I feel happy to hear that and at the same time sad, as it can increase my enemy-base.”

    Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched ticket sale for the direct flight to Dubai from Bhubaneswar. Patnaik launched the ticket sales at Naveen Niwas today on Utkal Diwas.

    The maiden international flight from Bhubaneswar to Dubai will take off from Biju Patnaik International Airport on the 15th of May.

    “Connectivity is key to development and it has been a focus area of our government,” said the Chief Minister.

    Direct connectivity with Dubai which is one of the biggest aviation hubs will open up a direct gateway to the world. Not only it will provide seamless connectivity but also it will have a huge multiplier effect on investment in Odisha in sectors like IT, manufacturing and tourism. This is the aspiration of New Odisha and I am very happy to open ticket sales for the Dubai Flight”.

    The CM handed over the first eight tickets to Mission Shakti women, sportspersons, tribal leaders, Skilled in Odisha students and artists. They are Sundergarh SDC Chairperson Binay Kumar Toppo, Keonjhar SDC Chairperson Laxmi Nayak, Koraput DLF President Jyotirekha Chetty, sand artist Sudarshan Patnaik, Footballer Anuradha Biswal, Shooter Shriyanka Sadangi, Balaram Rout from Jajpur Govt Polytechnic and Himansu Sahoo from Rourkela Govt ITI.

    While attending Make In Odisha Conclave in Dubai, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had assured the investor community and Odia diaspora that direct flights will commence to ease travel from the Middle East.

    The CM had also given approval to completely fund the flight operations.

    Dubai being one of the biggest travel hubs, commencement of direct flight connectivity will open up new avenues for investment, trade and tourism.

    It will also offer a convenient option for leisure travelers from across the world, looking to visit Odisha.

    Further within 2 weeks of the launch of direct flight to Dubai, international flight operations will commence to Singapore and Bangkok realizing Odisha’s vision to become the gateway to the East. Direct connectivity to aviation hubs like Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok will give a huge boost to connectivity facilitating travel for investor communities, tourists as well as seamless and economic travel options to Odia people working in these regions.

    Indigo Airlines has recently won the bid to operate direct flights to these three important gateways. As per the agreement, Indigo Airlines will operate direct flights from Biju Patnaik International Airport thrice a week. Inaugural ticket prices have been set to begin at ₹10,000 per single side journey and ₹20,000 for round trip. Each flight will have this subsidised tickets on first come first serve basis.

    The CM said a larger delegation from the state will go on first flight to Dubai. He thanked Govt of India especially Union Minister of Civil Aviation Jyotiraditya M. Scindia for providing all facilitation services for the flight operations.

    Minister Tukuni Sahoo was also present. Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian coordinated the program. Principal Secretary Usha Padhee briefed the CM about the flight operation.

    Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao congratulated Nikhat Zareen for winning the gold in the 50 kg category finals of the Women’s World Boxing Championships held at New Delhi.

    She beat two time Asian champion from Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Tam five-zero in the finals of the light weight category.

    A native of Telangana, she won the second gold medal for India in the women’s boxing championship. It was a matter of pride for entire State and the nation, the Chief Minister said.

    He said Telangana government was committed in developing sporting infrastructure in the State and ensuring the welfare of sportspersons.

    4480 Gujaratis registered

    Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Home and State’s Non-Resident Gujarati Division, has said that the event has been organized in Bengaluru, Karnataka on March 26 under the guidance of the state’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. There are 84 different Gujarati organizations and societies in Karnataka. So far 4480 Gujarati brothers and sisters have registered to participate in this program. The program will start at 5 pm, after which a cultural program will be presented by the local non-resident Gujarati youth brothers and sisters and a group discussion has been organized in the afternoon session. In which prominent leaders of Amreli, Ahmedabad and Kutch districts invited from the state of Gujarat will discuss various topics.
