Kondagaon. Two trucks collided head-on in Kondagaon district of Chhattisgarh. The accident happened on Raipur-Jagdalpur National Highway 30. In this accident, the driver of one truck died on the spot, while the other is said to be injured. The injured has been referred to the district hospital. The case is of City Kotwali police station area. According to the information, a truck was coming from Raipur towards Jagdalpur on Tuesday. There a truck was going from Jagdalpur towards Raipur. Meanwhile, both the trucks collided head-on near Baniyagaon. It is being told that one of these trucks had become uncontrolled. Which collided with another truck from the front. The accident was so severe that a truck driver got stuck in the steering. However, he could not be removed in time. Due to which he died on the spot. The driver of the other truck was seriously injured. People passing by the road informed the police about the accident. The jawans reached the spot. Who immediately sent the injured to Kondagaon district hospital with the help of people. Where the injured are being treated. At the same time, the body of the deceased has also been sent to the hospital for postmortem. Police say that it is being ascertained where the two drivers are from.

Fatehgarh Sahib: A young man died at the Sirhind railway station after he slipped while boarding a train. The deceased was identified as Navdeep Singh (30) of Gunia Majri village. The Railway Police said Navdeep slipped and fell into the space between the platform and the coach while boarding the Jammu-bound train at around 1.30 today. He was hit by the moving train and died on the spot.
6 of gang supplying drugs arrested
Fatehgarh Sahib: The police claims to have busted inter-state drug supply gang with the arrest of six persons. The police have recovered 1,04,460 Lomotil tablets, a motorcycle and a scooter from their possession. The arrested suspects have been identified as Gurmeet Singh and Surinder, alias Shinder, and Raj Kumar, alias Raju, all from Sirhind, besides Shammi, Akhtar Qureshi, and Mujmil, all residents of Saharanpur (UP). Miscreants stabbed youth to death, injured another in Odisha
BALANGIR: A youth died and another sustained critical injuries after being stabbed by a group of miscreants on the main road near Narasingha temple in Balangir town in the wee hours on Wednesday. The deceased was identified as 26-year-old Saroj Panigrahi of Getsarobarpada and the injured is Prem Sahu (25) of Barapalipada. The incident took place at around 3.30 am, just 200 metres away from Balangir Town police station.
Sources said Saroj and Prem were waiting near Narasingha temple to go home after attending cultural programmes during Sital Sasthi Yatra when a group of youths arrived at the spot and started to hurl expletives at them. The duo resisted and a heated argument broke out between them.
During the squabble, one of the miscreants stabbed Saroj in the chest. Prem tried to come to the rescue of his friend but he too was stabbed. Soon after, the miscreants fled the scene. On being informed by passersby, police reached the spot and rushed the injured duo to Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital.
However, Saroj succumbed to his injuries. Prem was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition.
While family members of Saroj demanded strong action against the culprits, a sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) of Balangir Tofan Bag said the crime has been recorded in the CCTV camera installed in the area.
“A case was registered in this connection and police have formed a special team to nab the miscreants involved in the incident. Raids are being conducted and the culprits will be arrested soon,” the SDPO added. -

Cyclist dies after being hit by school bus

Chandigarh: A Mani Majra resident and his father have been arrested by the Chandigarh Police for abetment to suicide. Victim Vibhuti Sharma (25) had reportedly died by suicide by hanging at her house in Subhash Nagar, Mani Majra, on April 22.
