    Young man jumped from the third floor, died during treatment

    Durg. The news of a young man jumping from the third floor in the District Hospital Durg at night created a stir. The young man died during treatment. Now the police have started investigating the identity and incident of the youth. Actually, a young man jumped from the third floor of MCH building of District Hospital Durg. People saw him as soon as he fell down and the seriously injured youth was taken to the casualty of the district hospital, where he died late night during treatment.

    The hospital management and the police have started identifying the deceased. What was the motive behind the suicide of the unknown youth, it will be known only after the identification of the youth. However, from the appearance of the young man, he seems to be a drug addict.

    The Lehra police have registered a case against three persons after their friend died of suspected drug overdose and started further investigations. Deceased Gurpreet Singh was found unconscious near a drain in Lehra. He was shifted to a private hospital in Sangrur where he died. His kin alleged that he died of overuse of drugs given by his three friends. TNS

    Gatka included in nat’l games

    Chandigarh: The traditional game of ‘Gatka’ is poised to get a significant boost nationwide as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has officially included the sport in the 37th National Games-2023 scheduled to be held in Goa in October this year.     No clue despite samples

    Nangal: The samples of air and water collected from the premises of Panjab Alkalies and Chemicals Limited and National Fertilisers Limited by the Punjab Pollution Control Board have failed to provide any clue regarding suspected gas leak due to which 30 students of a school were taken to hospital. Ropar DC Dr Preeti Yadav said testing of the samples did not lead to any conclusion. TNS

    Farmers on indefinite protest

    Sangrur: Alleging that the Bhawanigarh police have failed to act against a commission agent who fraudulently got land belonging to Avtar Singh to himself, farmers under the banner of the BKU Ugrahan started an indefinite protest here in front of the Police Lines. Mohit Aggarwal, DSP Bhawanigarh, said the land was registered in the name of Balwinder Singh on the High Court orders and he took its possession with the tehsildar’s help.

    The police have booked a person following the death of a youth allegedly due to overdose of drugs. As per information, the police booked the Sukhpal Singh, alias Sukhu, of Joge Wala village following the complaint lodged by Satnam Singh, the father of the deceased.

    In his complaint, Satnam had alleged that the accused administered drugs to his son due to which he died.

    Youth killed in clash during screening of film ‘Balagam’

    A clash between two groups in Rajaram of Mallial mandal turned fatal for a youngster named Gurram Praveen, who died on the spot late on Sunday night. The incident occurred during a public screening of the Telugu movie ‘Balagam’, where a few allegedly inebriated youngsters got into an argument with each other.

    The argument escalated quickly, and the two groups began attacking each other with iron rods. Gurram Praveen and Venkatesh sustained severe injuries from their rivals’ assault. Sadly, Gurram Praveen passed away on the spot, while Venkatesh was taken to Jagtial hospital for treatment.

    The villagers identified Shivaratri Naresh and Bhagyaraj as the members of the rival group. The Mallial police have registered a case and started the investigation. Gurram Praveen’s body has been sent for postmortem at Jagtial government hospital.
