    CBFC statement on the issue of ‘Bahattar Hoorain’ Trailer

    New delhi. Central Board for Film Certification has today issued a statement on the issue of trailer of the film Bahattar Hoorain. Terming the media reports it has said that “Misleading reports are being circulated in certain sections of media that a film and its trailer titled “Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)” has been Refused certification by Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).”

    It has further clarified that “contrary to the reports, the film “Bahattar Hoorain (72 Hoorain)” was granted ‘A’ certification and the certificate was issued on 4-10-2019. Now, the trailer of said film is under due process which was applied to CBFC on 19-6-2023 and examined in accordance with the Guidelines issued under Section 5B(2) of the Cinematograph Act, 1952. “

    CBFC has also said that “The applicant was asked for requisite documentary submissions under intimation and upon receipt of the same, certification was granted subject to modifications. A show cause notice communicating the modifications was issued to the applicant/filmmaker on 27-6-2023 and the same is pending for the applicant’s response/compliance.”

    The board has urged that any misleading reports may not be entertained or circulated hereinafter when the matter is under due process.

    “Statistics Day” celebrated on 29th June, 2023

    New delhi. In recognition of the notable contributions made by (late) Professor Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in the field of statistics and economic planning, the Government of India has been celebrating his birth Anniversary, on 29th June, as “Statistics Day”, every year since 2007.

    This year, the main event of the Statistics Day, 2023 was organized at Scope Convention Centre, Scope Complex, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The Chief Guest of the event, Rao Inderjit Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), Ministry of Planning, and Minister of State of Ministry of Corporate Affairs, inaugurated the event and addressed the participants on the occasion. Prof. Rajeeva Laxman Karandikar, Chairman, National Statistical Commission and Dr. G. P. Samanta, Chief Statistician of India & Secretary, MoSPI also addressed the participants. Senior officers of MoSPI, representatives of other Central line Ministries/Departments and States/ UTs Governments, representatives of UN organizations also participated in the event. The event was also live-streamed through social media handles of the Ministry.

    Winners of ‘On the Spot Essay Writing Competition, 2023’ were also felicitated during the event.

    A brief presentation on the theme of Statistics Day, 2023 was made by Dr. Ashutosh Ojha, Deputy Director General, MoSPI. Shombi Sharp, UN Resident Coordinator for India, Dr. Yogesh Suri, Senior Adviser, NITI Aayog and Rajesh Gupta, Director, NITI Aayog also addressed the participants on the theme of Statistics Day, 2023.

    The Sustainable Development Goals-National Indicator Framework, Progress Report, 2023 was released during the event. Along with the report, Data Snapshot on Sustainable Development Goals-National Indicator Framework, 2023 and Sustainable Development Goals- National Indicator Framework, 2023 were also released. There is a provision in the Report to download goal wise data from the website of MoSPI in the Excel file.

    Aadhaar based face authentication transactions cross all time high of 10.6 million in May

    New delhi. Aadhaar based face authentication transactions for service delivery are gaining robust momentum with monthly transactions in May touching an all time high of 10.6 million, since its launch in October 2021.

    This is the second consecutive month to register more than 10 million face authentication transactions. The number of face authentication transactions is on an upward trajectory and the monthly numbers clocked in May is an increase of 38 per cent, compared with such transactions reported in January 2023, indicative of its growing usage.

    The AI/ML based face authentication solution developed in-house by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), is now being used by 47 entities, including state government departments, ministries in the central government and some banks.

    Among many usages, it’s being used for registering beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana; for authentication of beneficiaries in the PM Kisan scheme and for generating digital life certificates at home by pensioners. It’s being used for marking staff attendance at several government departments and for opening bank accounts at a few leading banks via their business correspondents.

    Among several states, the government of Andhra Pradesh is using Aadhaar based face authentication for Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme for fee reimbursement to eligible higher education students and under EBC Nestham scheme for welfare delivery to women from economically backward segments.

    Face authentication provide features like ease of usage, faster authentication and it is preferred as an additional modality to strengthen the authentication success rate along with fingerprint and OTP authentications. It captures live images for authentication. It is safe against any video replay attacks and static photo authentication attempts by anti-social elements.

    Face authentication is also working as a robust alternative and helping senior citizens and all those who have issues with the quality of their fingerprints due to several reasons including manual work or health issues.

    The month of May also saw the UIDAI executing 14.86 million Aadhaar updates following request from residents

    Aadhaar e-KYC service continues to play a key role in the banking and non-banking financial services sectors by providing transparent & improved customer experience and helping in ease of doing business. More than 254 million e-KYC transactions were carried out in May alone.

    By the end May 2023, the cumulative number of Aadhaar e-KYC transactions has gone past 15.2 billion. Continued adoption of e-KYC is significantly reducing customer acquisition cost of entities like financial institutions, telecom service providers among others.

    Whether it is AePS for last mile banking, e-KYC for identity verification, Aadhaar enabled DBT for direct fund transfer or authentications, Aadhaar, the foundation of India’s digital public infrastructure and a tool of good governance, is playing a stellar role in improving Ease of Living for residents.

    New delhi. Piyush Goyal has asked the Indian banks to ensure enhanced and affordable credit to MSMEs to achieve the target of 1 trillion dollar merchandise exports. This was stated in a meeting called to discuss the issue of increasing the availability of export credit to the MSME exporters. The meeting was convened by the Department of Commerce in coordination with Export Credit Guarantee Corporation Limited, (ECGC), in New Delhi yesterday. It was attended by the top officials of 21 banks which included State Bank of India, Bank of Baroda, Punjab National Bank, Canara Bank, Union Bank of India, Bank of India and Central Bank of India.

    A presentation on ‘Export Credit and Export Credit Insurance for Banks (ECIB)’ was made by CMD ECGC, M. Senthilnathan. Based on ECGC’s experience under the scheme of enhanced cover, ECGC has now proposed further modifications to make available adequate and affordable credit to a larger section of MSME exporters. The product facilitates the borrower accounts to be treated equivalent to ‘AA’ rated account with reduced cost of export credit to the exporters.

    In the meeting, Piyush Goyal said that the ECGC can examine the extension of the scheme proposed for nine banks, to all the banks, so that the export credit offtake for the MSME Exporters can be increased.

    Bankers suggested that ECGC should adopt claim processing method similar to Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) for which Commerce and Industry Minister advised ECGC to follow a pattern on similar lines to compensate their loss.

    The Minister advised the banks to take advantage of the proposed scheme and extend adequate and affordable export credit to MSME exporters. This would enable the country to achieve its target of USD 1 trillion merchandize exports by 2030. The Minister also advised ECGC to examine 75% claim payment to banks under the ECIB scheme, within 45 days of receiving the claim. It was further informed by the Minister that in the next four months, all the ECGC services would be digitized, so that physical interaction can be minimized.

    Delhi Police constable attacked with surgical blade, two brothers arrested

    New Delhi (IANS). Police have arrested two brothers for allegedly attacking an on-duty Delhi Police Head Constable (HC) with a surgical blade in Mayapuri area. An official provided this information on Wednesday.

    According to the police, Head Constable Vikrant and Constable Harish were patrolling the slums of Rewari Line on Tuesday as part of an operation to nab active criminals.

    The officer said that when the two policemen were conducting a bad character (BC) check, Vikrant was attacked with a surgical blade by Vishal and his brother Krishna. However, Vikrant managed to fend off the attack but sustained an injury on his hand.

    Harish intervenes and they both manage to overpower Vishal and Krishna. A button knife was also recovered from Krishna during the search, the officer said. A case has been registered at Mayapuri police station. Simultaneously, the police arrested both the accused brothers.

    According to the police, Vishal is the BC of the area and Krishna was also involved in an old criminal case.

    New Delhi: The Delhi Police has arrested seven accused in connection with the robbery that took place on the morning of June 24 in Pragati Maidan area of the capital. You will be surprised to know that according to the police, we all have daily dealings with such common people who are involved in this robbery. Among these accused are a delivery boy, a barber, a vegetable seller and a mechanic. All of them together had done Reiki for the first few days and then fixing the day of 24th June, carried out the incident on that day. The CCTV footage of the incident came to the fore two days later, on 26 June.

    As soon as the footage went viral, there was an uproar from the administration to the corridors of power. On one hand, where this incident raised questions on the security system of the posh area, on the other hand, it instilled fear in the minds of the business class. The complaint of the matter reached the LG and seven people were arrested in the police raid which lasted for more than 48 hours. Out of these two suspects were arrested till the night of 26th June only, the information regarding the arrest of the other five accused was received on 27th June.

    Reportedly, the NSA held wide-ranging discussions with General Sultan bin Mohammed Al Nomani, Minister of the Royal Office, and Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, said the Ministry of External Affairs

    The visit by NSA reflects the strong bilateral relationship between India and Oman, the importance of the Sultanate of Oman as a key partner for India in the Gulf and highlights India’s commitment to strengthening its strategic partnership with Oman. The visit provided an opportunity for high level engagements and further cemented the strong bonds of friendship between India and the Sultanate of Oman, reads a note released by MEA.

    New Delhi: A photographer has been held by Delhi Police on Monday for flying Drone near the famous Akshardham Temple at a ‘No Drone Zone’.

    The accused photographer has been identified as Momo Mustafa.

    As per reports, after receiving information regarding a flying Drone near Akshardham Temple, a police team from PS Mandawali reached the spot where one Momo Mustafa (Photographer) was found with one drone.

    She was flying a drone in ‘No Drone Zone’ area without any permission from competent authority.

    A case has been registered u/s 188 IPC at PS Mandawali & further investigation is underway: Delhi Police, ANI tweeted.
