Seats for all sitting MLAs, says CM KCR

Hyderabad: Fighting all, Telangana has emerged as one of the rich States of India, as it was predicted while fighting for its Statehood, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said on Wednesday.

Addressing party leaders, he said success was assured when the party could highlight its achievements at all forums. He made it clear all sitting MLAs would get re-nomination in the ensuing elections.
In Telangana, 56.44 lakh acres of land has already been sown in Yasangi. Groundwater levels increased tremendously with Mission Kakatiya. The Mission Kakatiya programme has worked like a mantra. Over 30 lakh borewells in the State have enough water to support crops, while ponds and check dams are overflowing during the dry season.

Though the Centre wanted meters to be installed for agriculture services, the State government did not do so as it sought to stand by the farmers, he added.

Intense heat hits Ranga Reddy district, collector issues safety advisory

Hyderabad: The scorching sun continues to unleash its relentless fury on Ranga Reddy district, with the heatwave intensifying day by day. As the mercury soars to alarming levels, the Ranga Reddy District Collector, Dr. S. Harish, has taken to Twitter to issue a warning and advise residents to stay indoors during peak daytime hours unless absolutely necessary.

With most areas in the district grappling with the heat, Dr. Harish emphasised the importance of taking adequate precautions to avoid heatstroke. In his tweet, he urged people to consume sufficient quantities of water and buttermilk to stay hydrated and minimise the risk of falling victim to the oppressive heat.

“Mercury is soaring day by day in Ranga Reddy district. Do not go out during the hot sun unless it is an emergency. Take proper precautions and consume adequate amounts of water and buttermilk to avoid heatstroke,” he tweeted.

According to recent weather reports, several areas within Ranga Reddy district have experienced exceptionally high temperatures. On Wednesday, Gachibowli registered a scorching 41.3 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Amangal at 41.1 degrees Celsius. Chilkur Mrugavani and Shabad both recorded temperatures of 40.9 degrees Celsius.

Relief from the sweltering conditions seems unlikely in the near future. Meteorologists predict that the district will continue to bear the brunt of the intense heat in the coming days, further exacerbating the heatwave situation.

  • Massive mandate awaits BRS, says CM KCR

Massive mandate awaits BRS, says CM KCR

Hyderabad: A massive mandate is awaiting the Bharat Rashtra Samithi once again in the State and there is no need to entertain any doubts about this, BRS President and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao said here on Wednesday.

Addressing a meeting of the BRS legislative and parliamentary party members, he said the BRS would come to power again in the State.

“No one should have any doubts about this. All surveys are in our favor. We are definitely going to retain 95 and win 105 seats,” he said.

Asking elected representatives and chief functionaries of the party to swing into action to galvanize the cadres to take Telangana’s success story to the people, he said the turnaround achieved by the State in key sectors was being acclaimed all over.

The State had emerged as a role model and created a new landmark in every sector, resulting in a widespread clamour elsewhere for replicating Telangana model, he said, citing the growing demand for the model in the neighbouring Maharashtra.

At the same time, taking serious note of what he called a monotonous approach to the task of reaching out to the people with the State’s own success story, he said the time had come to put the rank and file of the organization at all levels back into action mode.

The 21-day celebrations planned as part of the 10th Formation Day would be the right occasion to speak about the growth and progress of Telangana, he said, adding that everyone should ensure active participation in the celebrations.

The department wise and day wise schedule of the celebrations would be released after finalizing it in the Cabinet meeting on Thursday. Public meetings would be organised in every constituency and every district involving people at the grassroots. Every elected representative should ensure active participation to make the event a grand success.

He pointed out that some of elected representatives were yet to update themselves about the rapid strides made in the development of Telangana despite the humble beginnings the State could make nine years ago.

“Everyone must know what is instrumental for the turnaround achieved by the State. It is the responsibility of everyone to go to the people with the message of development,” he said, adding that if all the MLAs work as desired, everyone would surely get a majority of more than 50,000.

“Huge turnouts for our meetings at Suruapet, Kamareddy or any other place in the State can be understood. But if people are attending BRS meetings the same way in Maharashtra, there must a strong reason. The major attraction is the rich dividends being paid by the Telangana Model of development,” he said, pointing out that a senior IAS officer in Aurangabad had publicly acknowledged the Telangana Model as the only way out for Maharashtra.

However, the party was not highlighting in an adequate manner what it had done so far, he felt, suggesting that Rythu Vedikas were unique venues to highlight Telangana’s success story.

“We have established more gurukuls than any other State in the country. When I was Siddipet MLA, I wanted a residential college established there, but it did not happen. Now we have established 1001 such institutions. This is our glory. This message should reach the people,” he said, adding that no party could win playing the cards of caste and religion.

“We look at all communities with equal attention. That is the secret of our success,” the Chief Minister added.

    CM KCR to BRS leaders:

    • Massive mandate awaits BRS
    • No need for doubts on BRS retaining power
    • Will definitely retain 95 and win 105 seats
    • Elected representatives, chief functionaries asked to galvanize cadre
    • Telangana’s success story should reach the people
    • Warns against complacency among elected representatives
    • Time to get rank and file of party into action mode

Politics aside, praise comes in for ‘Telangana Speed’

Hyderabad: When Taiwanese giant Foxconn Interconnect Technology (FIT) broke the ground for setting up its electronic manufacturing unit at Kongara Kalan on Monday, it was a watershed moment in the history of Telangana.

Since the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State government, FIT broke the ground for its plant in just about two and half months, thus testifying to what Foxconn Chairman Young Liu said about ‘Telangana Speed’.

After industry leaders like Liu, now leaders from different parties are also hailing the State leadership for its pro-active approach and speed.

Aam Aadmi Party Gujarat general secretary and former bureaucrat PVS Sarma was the latest to join the bandwagon of Telangana Speed admirers, when he said ‘political ideologies aside, must admit, have not seen such pace of development and planning in Telangana before’.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao had meticulously changed the perception about the State, he pointed out how investments were pouring into the State.

“Investments are pouring in and people are happy. As of now, seems its BRS again” Sarma tweeted, also observing political parties in Telangana were not able to counter the development agenda of the BRS. BJP was rising but took to communal and divisive politics, going down steeply. Congress is busy in ‘internecine feuds, cannot offer a viable alternative’, he said.

“Overall, credit to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao duo” he tweeted.

Earlier, it was AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi who called the Foxconn development a great achievement by Industries Minister KT Rama Rao, terming it a testament to Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership since 2014 as well.

“A peaceful atmosphere, solid infra, wonderful people and a welcoming culture. Who would not want to invest here?” Owaisi had tweeted.

The other day, union Minister for Agriculture Narendra Singh Tomar said Telangana was at the forefront in the agriculture sector as well, with increased crop production and yield. In the wake of the G20 Summit to be held in Hyderabad from June 15 to 17, he said the Centre and the State governments would work together to showcase India’s importance in the world agriculture sector.

Meanwhile, former CBI Joint Director VV Lakshmi Narayana tweeted “Congratulations to Goa, Telangana & Haryana states for achieving 100% household water connections under the Jal Jeevan Mission.; Punjab, Gujarat , Himachal & Bihar – 90% ; UP has the lowest Coverage – 13.75%; AP is at 18th place with 69.74%…”

Replying to him, Rama Rao said fact was that the BJP-led union government was inspired by Mission Bhagiratha and launched the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Minister also pointed out that the Centre however, had not heeded Niti Aayog’s recommendation for a grant of Rs.19,000 crore to Mission Bhagiratha.
