The children were very excited to see the Chief Minister in their midst, Karuna, a student of class VI and Ruchi, a student of class III and Shailesh Pandey, a student of class I of Kendriya Vidyalaya met the Chief Minister. During this, CM Dhami was also elated to see the children, he interacted with the little children and inquired about their well-being and also asked about their studies. During this, the children looked very happy after meeting the CM, they also took the autograph of CM Dhami.

Chief Minister participated in the program of Pushkar Dhami Little Scholars School
Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the program organized at Little Scholars School by lighting the lamp. He said that in the year 1983, the plant on which the foundation of this school was laid by Late Major Shivnath Bhalla, has taken the form of a banyan tree today. He said that Major Shivnath Bhalla, born in a normal family, first served the country as a soldier and then laid the foundation of Little Scholars School to provide education to the children and shape their future. Bhalla ji’s life and efforts full of hard work and struggles is inspirational for all of us. The Chief Minister said that education and Guru have the most important place in our all-round development as a person and in building our excellent society. He said that the meaning of education in our culture is not just limited to acquiring bookish knowledge, it is a journey in which we discover ourselves and our existence, along with this the guru or teacher in our culture is responsible for his work. Not just a profession, teaching for them is a sentiment, a sacred moral duty, that’s why we do not have a professional relationship between teacher and children, but a family relationship and this relationship, this relationship is for life. .
While addressing the students, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that the kind of education and culture a person receives from childhood, not only builds the character of his family but also of the society and the country. He said that dear children, we have to work on our today for how we want our tomorrow. Our present decides how our future will be. He said that today the foundation has been laid in Little Scholars School to build that future, which will become the basis of tomorrow’s excellent Uttarakhand and New India. He said that today a new India is being built under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under which unprecedented works are being done in the country. According to the present time, the new education policy has been kept in front of us by the Prime Minister. He said that the new education policy will give new dimensions to school education and higher education. With this, people of all classes will get opportunities to get education on the basis of equality.
“Skill development” at the school level will enable the youth to work efficiently. Employment-oriented education will be provided through the new education policy, as well as there will be no separate preparation for competitive examinations. Research and research will be encouraged. The new education policy will prove effective in making the country a developed nation. He said that Uttarakhand is the first state in the country which has implemented the National Education Policy-2020 in school education. Odisha: ED attaches more properties worth Rs 250 crore of Rose Valley Group
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached movable and immovable properties worth over Rs 54 crore in connection with a chit fund case against Rose Valley Group of Companies and its promoters under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
The attached properties include insurance policies in the name of Gautam Kundu and his wife, buildings, plots of land in Bengal, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar allegedly acquired by the companies of the Rose Valley Group from funds collected from investors.
The ED initiated an investigation under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against the companies of Rose Valley Group and its chairman, Gautam Kundu, along with other persons.
“The Rose Valley group collected funds from the common gullible public by floating fake and fictitious schemes and defaulted on the re-payments. The ED has already attached and seized properties having a value of Rs 1117.71 crore prior to the instant attachment. The total attachment in this case till date is Rs 1171.71 crore,” the ED said.Gautam Kundu, the promoter/owner/chairman of the Rose Valley Group of Companies, arrested by the ED in March 2015, continues to be in judicial custody.
The financial probe agency had earlier filed two chargesheets in this case against Kundu and other beneficiaries in the scam and secured a successful conviction of Arun Mukherjee, who was sentenced to imprisonment of seven years and fined Rs 2.50 lakh.

1 dead, 4 injured after scorpio rams into truck in Bhadrak
Bhadrak: One person was killed and 4 others sustained critical injuries after their car rammed into a stationary truck near Chatabar at National Highway 16 in Bhadrak district today morning.
Initial investigation suggests that the truck was in stationary mode, when the ill-fated scorpio car enroute Bhubaneswar rammed into the truck from behind on NH-16.
Following which one person was killed on the spot and four others sustained critical injuries. The injured were immediately rescued and admitted to Bhandari Pokhari Community Health Centre (CHC) for medical aid.
The identity of the deceased and injured has not been ascertained yet.
Earlier today, six people sustained critical injuries after a collision between two trucks near Trisulpur chhak under Bhadrak rural police limits.
According to sources, a truck carrying chicks was heading from Bhubaneswar towards Kolkata lost control after the driver got sleepy for a moment and collided with another truck standing in another lane after crossing the divider. At least six people who were in the truck were critically injured due to the accident.
The police has reached the spot and rushed the injured people to the nearby hospital in Bhadrak. All the severe injured people were reportedly residents of West Bengal.

GST officials unearths over Rs 15 crore during raid in various places of Odisha
Jajpur: The Goods and Services Tax (GST) department raid unearths over Rs 15 crore during raid at 15 places in Odisha.
According to reports, ten teams of the officials of the Directorate General of GST Intelligence (DGGI) conducted raids in 15 places including Jajpur, Chandikhol and Bhubaneswar yesterday. The officials conducted raid following allegations of evading crores of taxes in the mining operations by the mines owner under the supervision of Directorate General of GST Intelligence Debasish Sahoo.
During the raid, the GST department have seized important documents, according to the sources.
Yesterday, in Bhubaneswar, the GST officials conducted raid at HIG C5, informed the sources. They were examining different documents to know about the tax evasion.
The central officers conducted surprise raid to check the balance sheets and other business documents of the concerned companies as part of the alleged tax evasion investigation.
Earlier, GST officials had carried out multiple raids on the premises linked to a BJD leader in Nayagarh district on April 3. And on March 29, they had also raided a reputed private coaching centre in Bhubaneswar. On March 3, the department also conducted simultaneous raids at four places in Cuttack city of Odisha.

Life imprisonment to woman and 3 sons in 2018 Junagadh murder case
Dharamgarh: The ADJ Judicial court Dharamgarh gave life imprisonment to a woman and his three children for the murder of a contractual peon posted at Atigaon RI office in 2018.
The convicts has been identified as Kuchita Dandsena, mother and Pita Dandasena,Radhu Dandasena and Jadu Dandasena.
While pronouncing the judgement, the court of additional sessions judge Bandana Kar also imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the convicts. If they are not able to pay the fine, then they will serve another one year of imprisonment.
As per the police investigation report, Kuchita along with her sons had killed Chayakanta Dandasena on June 14,2018. He was working as a contractual peon posted at the Atigaon RI office.
All the convicts were excavating a government plot near RI office in Atgaon in the year 2018 to build a house. On learning about the incident, Chayakanta obejected to this and in a fit of rage Kuchita along with his sons attacked and brutally killed him with a sharp weapon.
Later, the Junagarh police launched an investigation and arrested four of them.

A man attempted suicide by slitting his neck
Cuttack: In a tragic incident, a man reportedly attempted to commit suicide by jumping from the roof of his house at Puruna Chakamunda in Narasinghpur of Cuttack district today.
The man has been identified as 55-year-old Madhusudan Jena of Puruna Chakamunda village.
According to reports, Jena had climbed the rooftop, slit his neck with a sharp weapon and was planning to jump with the aim to end his life.
The family members with the help of some locals soon rushed to the spot after noticing Jena and rescued him. Soon, they rushed him to the SCB Medical College and Hospital for treatment. However, his condition is stated to be critical as he has received grievous injuries on his neck.
Though the exact reason that prompted Jena to attempt to end his life is yet to be known, it is suspected that he was under severe mental stress.

Andhra Pradesh to experience above-normal maximum temperatures in May
VISAKHAPATNAM: As per the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Andhra Pradesh is expected to experience above-normal maximum temperatures and normal to below-normal minimum temperatures in May. The coastal areas of AP are likely to experience above-normal heatwave days during this period.
The average rainfall across the country in May is predicted to be normal, ranging 91-109% of the Long Period Average (LPA), which is about 61.4 mm based on data from 1971-2020. However, most parts of AP are expected to receive below-normal rainfall.Due to the prevailing lower tropospheric South Easterly and South Westerly winds over AP and Yanam, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph are also expected to occur at isolated places over North Coastal AP, Yanam, South Coastal AP and Rayalaseema for the next five days.
These predictions are significant for farmers and the general public to take necessary precautions and prepare for the weather conditions in the coming month.
With these weather predictions in mind, the public is advised to take necessary measures to protect themselves from the heat and stay hydrated.

Gujarat government will recruit 7000 posts in police department this year
Under the order of the Supreme Court, the Gujarat High Court had filed a suo moto petition regarding matters related to the police. In which the state government was ordered to present all the information in an affidavit. A detailed affidavit has been filed by the Gujarat government following a stern stand by the Gujarat High Court on a suo moto petition regarding recruitment, vacancies in the police department and other police related matters.
Out of 22 thousand posts, 7 thousand posts will be recruited.
The state government will fill 7000 posts out of 22000 vacancies in the police department this year. Under the order of the Supreme Court, the Gujarat High Court had filed a suo moto petition regarding matters related to the police. In which the state government was ordered to present all the information in an affidavit. In which the State Government has accepted before the High Court that 21.3% of the posts in the State Police Department are vacant.
Recruitment on 73 thousand posts has been completed
The state government has also told that out of total 96,194 posts in Gujarat, recruitment has been completed for 73 thousand posts and total 22000 posts are currently vacant. Apart from this, the state government admitted in the affidavit that out of the total posts of the State Reserve Force, about 4000 posts are also vacant. Then seven thousand of these posts will be recruited in the police department.
On the demand of the petitioner, the High Court had directed the state government
Apart from this, the Gujarat High Court had also given an order on the issue of rally procession and meeting, according to which the state government has accepted before the High Court that proper instructions have been given for the rally procession and meeting as well. During the course of argument, the petitioner demanded that whatever instructions there are should be published in public and on the plea of the petitioner, the High Court directed the state government to publish the information of all these matters in the public.
