He has also shown his commitment through various public forums that on the lines of Himachal Pradesh, agriculture and horticulture should be made a source of employment in the hilly districts of the state. Now in this episode, the state government has taken a big decision regarding the poly house.

    Under this, it has been decided to plan for the cultivation of vegetables and flowers in cluster-based small polyhouses (Naturally Ventilated) in the state. Under the scheme of NABARD, Rs 304 crore has been approved by the state cabinet for the establishment of 17648 polyhouses of 100 square meter size based on cluster, in which 70 percent subsidy will be given to the farmers. Under this, about 01 lakh farmers of the state will get direct/indirect means of self-employment as well as increase in their income, which will improve the social and economic level and migration to hilly areas will also decrease. . Along with this, the production of vegetables will increase by 15 percent and the production of flowers by 25 percent.

    New Delhi (IANS) | With the arrest of a 28-year-old man, the Delhi Police on Wednesday claimed to have busted an interstate drug syndicate and recovered around 52 kg of marijuana stashed in the back seat and a space under the trunk of a car. The accused has been identified as Neeraj Kumar, a resident of Bhojpur in Bihar.

    According to the police, information was received regarding the delivery of a consignment of narcotics (Ganja) and it was also established that the consignment was going in a Toyota Corolla car.

    Special Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) Ravindra Singh Yadav said, through extensive surveillance, the suspect was traced and his route from Odisha to Delhi was chalked out. It was established that he commuted regularly but the registration numbers of the suspected cars could not be established. Through more inputs, the same was closely tracked and it was established that the consignment was bound to reach the area of Bhalswa.

    Accordingly, one team chased the car and another team laid a trap on the service road near Bhalswa Lake and intercepted the suspected Toyota Corolla car.

    The driver of the car has been arrested, said the Special Commissioner of Police. On examination of the car, it was found that the trunk of the car is smaller than its normal size. In addition, there is a hidden space under the rear seat covered with a wooden plate, which was fixed with screws. It was specifically designed for the purpose of concealing prohibited material.

    After removing the wooden plate, around 52 kg of marijuana (ganja) was recovered from the cavity of the car, the officer said.

    During interrogation, it was revealed that Chandan alias Arvind Kumar (purchaser/receiver) had given a Toyota Corolla car to Neeraj and directed him to meet at Phulbani, Odisha.

    Thereafter, Chandan went to Phulbani by train to buy ganja and fix a deal with a supplier, the official said. Neeraj reached Phulbani by road in the above mentioned car and handed over to Chandan.

    The car was loaded with ganja and it was handed over to Neeraj to be supplied at different places in Delhi.

    Chandan also returned to Delhi by train and shared the location on his mobile phone to hand over the same car to accused Neeraj, the officer said. However, Neeraj was caught after reaching Delhi.

This information was given in an official statement here. The ED said that one of the four attached properties is an immovable property located in Coorg district of Karnataka. A provisional order has been issued against Karti under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the statement said. Karti Chidambaram, son of former Union minister and senior Congress leader P Chidambaram, is the sitting MP from Sivagangai Lok Sabha seat in Tamil Nadu and was arrested by both the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and ED in the INX case.
    The case pertains to alleged receipt of illegal funds directly or indirectly from INX Media Pvt Ltd, which was cleared by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) during his father’s tenure as Union Finance Minister in the then United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government. approval was received. A police official said that the minor sustained injuries all over his body and is undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital. This incident took place on Monday morning around 7.30 am.

    Earlier in the month of March in the city, two brothers Anand and Aditya were killed by stray dogs in the forest area near their house.

    Police said, there were several injury marks on his body which appeared to be due to animal bite. It was later learned that there are many stray dogs in the forest area which often attack goats and pigs.

    Paralakhemundi: Nearly two years after the the mysterious death of Paralakhemundi Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) Soumya Ranjan Mohapatra, the SDJM court here has summoned wife Bidya Bharati Panda, DFO Sangram Keshari Behera and cook Manmath Kumbha in connection with the case.

    The three have been asked to appear before the court of the Paralakhemundi SDJM in Odisha’s Gajapati district on April 27.

    Hearing a petition filed by deceased ACF’s father Abhiram Mohapatra, the court directed the three to appear before it. Trial will be held in connection with murder and criminal conspiracy charges against them, sources said.

    After studying the petition, statements recorded and other documents, the court felt that the allegations of murder and criminal conspiracy are worth trial. On this basis, the court issued summons and directed the three to appear before it.

    It may be noted here that on the night of July 11, 2021, ACF Soumya Ranjan had sustained serious burn injuries while his wife was at home. He was admitted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Berhampur with 90 per cent burns. Later, he was shifted to a private hospital in Cuttack where he succumbed to the injuries during treatment on July 13.

    A day after the incident, on the basis of the family members’ allegations, Paralakhemundi police had registered a case of murder against the ACF’s widow Panda, DFO Behera and cook Kumbha under IPC Sections 302 and 120 (b). The case was subsequently probe by the Crime Branch

    On October 8, 2021, Crime Branch gave clean chit to DFO Behera and cook Manmath Kumbh, but booked his wife Bidya Bharati under sections 304-A (causing death by negligence) and 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) of IPC.

    It termed the incident as an ‘accidental death’ making it clear that Sangram Keshari Behera and Manmath Kumbh had no role in it. The Crime Branch reportedly said it found no evidence of relation between the DFO and Bidya Bharati during the probe.

    Giving this information, School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash said that this vacation education programme will be unique and first of its kind in the state. The programme will immensely benefit the students in their career.

    A special syllabus has been prepared for this learning programme, which is scheduled to commence from may 4. The students of a particular class will be split into different groups. The activities of every group will be monitored by a teacher.

    The teacher concerned will discuss with the students and their parents over phone to keep track of the progress made in studies. They will find out whether the students are studying the lessons as per the vacation syllabus specially prepared for the purpose.

    The aim is to keep the students engaged with their studies even during vacation and stop them from wasting their time. The summer vacation will be properly utilised by the students which will benefit them in the long run, sources said.

    Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the twin polls in 2024, the Odisha government on Tuesday appointed IAS officer Saroj Kumar Samal as Information and Public Relations (I&PR) director.

    He will replace Indramani Tripathy, who will now serve as Additional Secretary, ST & SC Development, Minorities & Backward Classes Welfare Department while continuing as Director of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Research and Training Institute (SCSTRTI), a notification released by General Administration Department said.

    The government also declared that the post of I&PR Director is equivalent in status and responsibility to the post of Joint Secretary in IAS cadre of the state.

    Samal and Tripathy, both Odisha Administrative Officers, were promoted to the IAS cadre in 2022.

    Bargarh: In a gruesome incident, three members of a family, including two women, were found dead in a pool of blood inside a house at a village in Bheden area of Odisha’s Bargarh district on Tuesday

    The incident took place at Akhiphuta village under the jurisdiction of Bheden police station in the western Odisha district. The mutilated bodies of a man and his two wives were recovered form the house, sources said. The bodies had deep injury marks.

    After being informed, a team of police personnel rushed to the spot and launched an investigation.

    While the three were suspected to have been murdered by some assailants, police said probe is underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.

    The deceased were identified as Tankadhar Sahu and his two wives – Madhavi and Droupadi. Further details are awaited.
