Under the Roka Chheka campaign, stray cattle catching teams are roaming around the city with various resources to catch stray cattle. Cattle are being dropped in the Cow Catcher vehicle directly to Gothan.

    Bhilai. Corporation Commissioner Rohit Vyas made an intensive tour of ward areas today regarding cleanliness. During this, the drain was blocked by a hotelier by spreading filth in the drain. The bad waste coming out of his hotel was completely flushed down the drain. The filth and stench was so much that even the residents of the locality were troubled by the stench. Complaints were also received about this. The people passing by the drain were totally repulsed by the stench. It was difficult to stand there even for a while. When Corporation Commissioner Rohit Vyas visited the ward, the residents of the locality also complained about the foul smell. On this, Corporation Commissioner Rohit Vyas instructed the officers to impose fine and also instructed the hotelier not to spread filth. Chhotu hotelier near Pardesi Chowk was fined Rs 50,000 for spreading filth. The corporation also cleaned the drain.

    Similarly, a fine of Rs 10,000 was recovered from the builder who scattered the debris of construction and demolition during the tour of the ward area. The debris was kept on the roadside due to which people were facing problems in movement and the corporation had also received complaints about this. This debris was lying here for a long time due to which the filth was also spreading. The Corporation Commissioner took stock of the drain cleaning in the ward areas and observed the cleaning system at public places. During this, at some places the old materials were collected at one place by the house owners, which were removed by speaking to the house owner. At some places the road had been barricaded, at one place a hut was built and at another place the goods were being sold on the road by a fruit vendor. The officials have been directed to remove the old hut which is of no use and was installed on the road, which was advised to do business at a systematic place. In view of the upcoming monsoon, the commissioner gave instructions to the health officer on the spot for comprehensive cleaning of the drains. He said that the situation of water logging should not be created in the ward areas. An appeal was made during this time to separate wet waste and dry waste. It may be noted that the work is being done by the corporation as per the norms of Swachh Survekshan 2023. Special care is being taken regarding cleanliness in the city.
