    Durg. In the 2 crore fraud case in Durg, the police have arrested all the seven accused from Mumbai. Along with this, an amount of around 95 lakh has also been recovered. Police is bringing the accused to the fort. Soon the matter will be disclosed. According to information, on Tuesday, June 27, Durg’s businessman Vineet Gupta was sitting in his office Parakh Complex. During this, five people came and claiming themselves as ED officers started talking about the investigation. During interrogation, the accused picked up a bag containing two crore rupees kept in the office and took the businessman along with them.

    When the car of the accused reached near Somni toll plaza before Rajnandgaon, they dropped the businessman from the car and then fled with the cash. After the incident, the victim Vineet Gupta complained to the Durg police. Taking the matter seriously, SP Shalabh Sinha started the investigation by forming a joint team of Thana Police, Cyber and Crime Police. Police got the location of the accused in Mumbai with technical help. Durg Police with the help of Mumbai Police arrested all the seven accused involved in the cheating incident.

    Bhilai Nagar police station in-charge Rajesh Sahu told that the kidnapping was done for a transaction of Rs 4 lakh. The accused Beni Prasad Deshmukh is an ex-army man. He kidnapped his accomplice Gangdev Prasad from Nehru Nagar in broad daylight. Gangdev Prasad (40 years) told that he lives in Sector-7 Road 31A, Quarter- 5A. He is the manager of Nico Steel Plant in Raipur.

    Accused Beni Prasad was his friend. After doing night duty, he reached Nehru Nagar at 8 am on 29th June. At the same time Beni reached by car and pushed Gangdev into his car and made him sit. Gangdev could not escape, so he tied his hands and legs with electric wire and taped his mouth. After this he took her from Anda towards Balod Road. Police have seized the car, hammer, knife and electric wire from the accused. The accused has also accepted his crime.

At first Pitambar tried to mislead the police, but when strictly questioned, he confessed to his crime. He told that he confessed to theft in Scindia Nagar a year back. The accused told that he used to go out on foot at night. If he finds an empty house on the way, he enters it to steal. When he went to Scindia Nagar’s house too, he entered through the back door. Some people were sleeping inside. After that he crossed the jewelery worth lakhs kept in the cupboard.

    According to the police, the accused has so far committed many thefts. He has also gone to jail for theft. He is being questioned about other thefts. The police seized jewelery worth Rs 4.5 lakh from the accused.

He first called for a list of junkyards across the district. After that, on the instructions of ASP Sanjay Dhruv, 40 different teams were prepared for simultaneous raids according to the police station area of all. None of the teams were told where to raid. All were called to the police control room in the early hours of Sunday. After this the slips containing the names of all the 40 scavengers were put in a box. After this the chit was drawn in the name of the station in-charge. The station in-charge in whose name the scavenger slip came out, was sent to there.

    Although SP Durg had kept this raid confidential, but its information had reached Lalit Kabadi. That’s why he took out the expensive junk from the yard in advance and fled in the night itself. When the police reached Lalit Kabadi’s house, he was not found there. His son is also absconding with him. Durg Superintendent of Police Shalabh Sinha had formed 40 teams to raid the scrap shops in the district. The team consisted of 14 inspectors and more than 100 jawans, including gazetted officers. Durg SP himself monitored this entire action.
