    Organized food donation in Gorantla village

    Gorantla : On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanthi, homam, special pujas and a massive food donation programme were organised at Sri Prasannanjaneya Swamy temple on the main road of Gorantla village. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Yarramshetty Venugopal, former sarpanch of Gorantla village, and Veda Seeds Executive Director Tulasi Dharmacharan participated as the chief guest. Dharmacharan performed special puja to Lord Hanuman and started the food donation programme.

    Speaking on this occasion, the Veda Seeds ED noted that participating in divine programmes will give relief to the people, who are under a lot of stress nowadays. He urged people to extend financial support to develop the temples in the surrounding areas. Dharmacharan appreciated Yarramshetty Venugopal for striving for the development of temples in Gorantla.

    Y Venugopal said that everyone contributed for the development of Gorantla village. He said that more than 4,000 devotees and villagers participated in this food donation.

    The theme of the conclave is ‘Empowering organisational effectiveness covering people management, high performance, industrial relations and effective future leaders”.

    Mega blood donation camp organized on May Day

    Rangareddy: On the occasion of World Labor Day, a mega blood donation camp was organised by the Labor Welfare Association, which saw a tremendous response from the people. The event was inaugurated by Keshampet MPP Ravinder Yadav and Shadnagar Municipal Chairman Narender. The major attraction of the day was the felicitation of Pinapaka Prabhakar, the Convener of Labor Welfare Association, who has been organising blood donation camps every year on May Day. He was presented with a silver medal of appreciation received from the State Governor.

    The Workers of Two-Wheeler Mechanics Association organised a bike rally from the railway station to MPDO office under the auspices of the Labor Welfare Association.

    Speaking at the event, MPP Ravinder highlighted the importance of May Day and celebrated the achievements of workers, saying that today is a day to honour those who have worked hard to make their lives worthwhile. He also emphasised that under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, all workers will be recognised and acknowledged for their dedication to their jobs and their positive contributions to society.

    Tirupati : SV Medical College celebrated Sports Day on Friday in a grand way. Various sports events were held last week and the certificates and mementoes were presented to the winners and runners on the occasion by Principal Dr PA Chandrasekharan.

    He said that sports provide the much-needed mental happiness and make the participants physically fit. Dr Sunanda Kumar Reddy of Aster Narayanadri Hospitals participated as the chief guest and donated Rs 15 lakh to the college to build a pavilion at the sports ground.

    He expressed happiness over the donation to the college from where he graduated. Vice-Principal Dr Vasundhara Devi, Dr Madhavi Latha, Dr Radha and others took part in the programme.

    The ‘Environmento Fabio Quiz 2.0’ was organised at the school. Students of Class IX from 19 schools of Panchkula, Dera Bassi, Chandigarh and Surajpur competed for the top slots. The winners received a trophy and a certificate. Others got participation certificates.

    Vijayawada (NTR district): Aiming to promote non-violence, peace and brotherhood among people, the Jain International Trade organisation (JITO) will organise Ahimsa Run along with Andhra Pradesh Athletic Association (APAA) at Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium here at 5.30 am on Sunday. The run will be held in three categories – 3k, 5k and 10k. Olympian and President of Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and MP PT Usha will flag off the run along with district administration and public representatives.

    Disclosing the details here on Friday, JITO Vijayawada Branch chairman Ashok Golecha informed that over 2,000 runners would take part in the run and a prize money of Rs 2 lakh would be given away to top three winners in the three categories. He further said that the run is organised across 65 different cities in 22 countries. ”The participants will be given a T-shirt and an electronic timing chip attached to the bib to register the timing. Breakfast will also be arranged for the participants,” he said.

    Ashok said a registration fee of Rs 300, Rs 400 and Rs 500 will be collected for the three categories in which men, women and children (above 12 years) are taking part. There will be a lucky draw as well, he informed. e further stated that the Guinness Book of World Records has issued a certificate certifying that the run is being held with the maximum number of athletes on the same day across the world. PAA secretary Hyma said that the association was offering technical support for the smooth conduct of the event. The event was also held at Guntur and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, he added. JITO secretary Manish Doshi, Ladies wing officials Trapti Jain, Sangeetha Nenawat took part in the press meet.
