    Four killed, nine injured in a collision between a van and a car in Konaseema

    Four dead and nine people were injured in a ghastly road accident after a van collided with a car on Madiki National Highway under Alamuru mandal of the Dr. Br Ambedkar Konaseema district.

    The incident happened while nine members from Chodavaram of Anakapalli district were going to

    Mandapalli of Kothapet mandal in a magic van for darshans. Meanwhile, the car coming from Visakha lost control and collided with the van leaving three persons traveling in the van and one person traveling in the car lost their lives on the spot.

    As many as 9 others injured were shifted to Rajamahendravaram Government Hospital for treatment. The police have registered a case and investigating it further.

    Four killed, 14 injured in bus-truck collision in Shajapur

    SHAJAPUR: Four persons were killed and 14 others received injuries when a speeding private bus collided head-on with a truck near Maksi town in Madhya Pradesh’s Shajapur district on Thursday morning, a police official said.

    The accident took place at around 5 am when the victims were on their way to Ahmedabad from Jalaun district in Uttar Pradesh to attend a marriage function, Maksi police station in-charge Gopal Singh Chouhan said.

    The bus collided with a truck near Donta village in Shajapur, he said. Four persons were killed in the incident.

    The deceased included two women and a minor, the official said. The injured persons were rushed to Ujjain for treatment, he added.

    Heavy rains continue in Karnataka, four dead

    Mandya (IANS) | Heavy rains, lightning and thunderstorm claimed four lives in Karnataka during the last 24 hours. Two people were killed by lightning, while two others died after a tree fell on an autorickshaw.

    A case of death of two people, including a woman, has come to light in Maddur taluk of Mandya district on Friday due to lightning.

    The deceased have been identified as 34-year-old Madhu, a resident of Vaidyanathpura village, and 60-year-old Gauramma, a resident of Shivpura village.

    According to officials, Madhu was standing under a tree to take shelter from heavy rain late on Thursday night when lightning struck. He was returning home after dropping his wife at her parents’ house.

    In another incident, Gouramma collapsed at her house when lightning struck very close to her house. He was immediately rushed to the hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead.

    Pushpa Kulal (45), a resident of Paduru Kuralu, and Krishna (48), a resident of Kalaturu, died on the spot after a huge tree fell on the auto on Thursday night. Driver Sharif narrowly escaped in the incident. The vehicle that came under the tree was completely damaged.

    Officials have attributed the incessant heavy rains as the reason for the tree falling. Heavy rains have thrown life out of gear across the state.

    Firing during birthday party in America, four killed

    Washington (IANS) | At least four people were killed and 28 others injured in a shooting at a birthday party in the US state of Alabama. The officers provided this information. The Alabama law enforcement agency said in a statement on Sunday that the fatal shooting occurred late Saturday night in the city of Dadeville, CNN reported.

    With a population of approximately 3,200 people, Dadeville is a small, rural town approximately 45 miles northeast of the state capital, Montgomery.

    Sergeant Jeremy J. Burkett said. Four people lost their lives in the incident, and many more were injured,

    Burkett was quoted as saying by CNN that some of the people injured during the incident remain in critical condition.

    Burkett said they are trying to gather information about the shooting.

    Among the dead was Philstavius Dowdell, a high school football player. He was the brother of the girl whose birthday was being celebrated. Football team heads Ben Hayes and Keenan Cooper told CNN that Dowdell was set to graduate high school next month and have earned a scholarship to play football at Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.

    There have been 163 incidents of mass shootings in the US in 15 weeks.

    Four migrants riding a bike (HP 12M 0758) were killed when their vehicle collided with a private bus coming from the opposite side near Indo Farm industrial unit at Bhud in the Baddi industrial area around 6.35 am today.

    Confirming the news, Baddi DSP Priyank Gupta said four bike riders, all migrants from Uttar Pradesh who were employed here, were killed when their bike collided with a bus at Bhud village this morning.

    The post-mortem would be conducted tomorrow to ascertain whether they were under the influence of liquor or some intoxicant. The deceased were identified as Bablu (22) and Anuj (29), both from Bareilly, Chander Sen (30) of Badaun and Jeetu (25) of Moradabad.
