    KCR plants saplings under Green India Challenge

    Hyderabad: On the occasion of World Environment Day, Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao on Monday participated a sapling under the Green India Challenge (GIC) initiative. CM KCR was accompanied by senior BRS party leader and member of Rajya Sabha, K Keshav Rao, Education Minister, P Sabitha Indra Reddy, Rajya Sabha member, J Santosh Kumar along with other party workers.

    Santosh Kuma, who has taken-up the initiative of promoting the Green India Challenge initiative took to social media platform and thanked KCR.

    “The mentor himself obliged to do the honours on the occasion of #WorldEnvironmentDay. Team #GreenIndiaChallenge overwhelmed by the kind gesture of the father of #HarithaHaaram to plant a sapling today as part of #GIC. Nothing could be more happier for me as the creator of #GreenIndiaChallenge movement, as our inspiration behind the initiation himself accepted to plant. Thank you so much Sir KCR garu.”, Santosh Kumar tweeted, marking World Environment Day.

    Narayana Murthy took up the Green India Challenge

    Hyderabad: Film director, actor and producer R Narayana Murthy has said that BRS MP J Santosh Kumar launched Green India Challenge with the inspiration from CM KCR’s brainchild Haritha Haram and taking forward the plantation programme like a movement in the country. He said that people all over the country are participating in this programme and protecting the environment.

    Narayana Murthy said that plantation will help to check climate change and help receive abundant rainfall. Telangana State is flourishing under the leadership of CM KCR. He said that people migrated to other States for livelihoods in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh. Today, people from different States are migrating to Telangana for work. The film director thanked MP Santosh Kumar for giving him opportunity to participate in such a good programme- Green India Challenge. He expressed delight over planting saplings.

    Telangana: Over 3K saplings planted at Medipally under Green India Challenge

    Hyderabad: As part of the Green India Challenge Initiative, Rachakonda Police in association with the Rotary Club of Hyderabad Elite and Neuland Labs, conducted a mega sapling plantation of over 3000 saplings on Saturday at Medipally village.

    Commissioner of Police D.S. Chauhan who was a part of the drive elaborated on the significance of trees in restoring oxygen levels of the environment.

    Lauding chief minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s Haritha Haram initiative for being the inspiration behind the Green India Challenge, the commissioner attributed that MP J. Santosh Kumar’s contribution has enhanced the forest cover in Telangana.

    “Telangana tops in enhancing the forest cover. There is a definite need to promote and make people aware of the significance of planting trees and its overall impact on the environment,” the commissioner said.

    Neuland Labs HR Head P Hemachandra said that their company is happy to be associated with this mega project.

    200 plus volunteers including Neuland Labs employees and students of Aurora College participated in the event.

    The Rotary Club which is the implementation partner of this plantation project has been instrumental in bringing together the stakeholders, a press release said.

    Rotary Club of Hyderabad Elite afforestation project chairman Rtn. Himanshu Guptha and president Rtn. Rohit Agarwal took part in the program.

    The event further saw the participation of commissioner of police V. Satyanarayana, DCP Malkajgiri D Janaki, addl. DCP Admin C. Narmada, addl. DCP CAR Shameer, ACP Malkajgiri Naresh Reddy, SHO Medipally, G. Govardhanagiri, and others.
