    Man dies after falling into open sewer in Gurugram

    The body of a man was taken out from an open sewer in the Badshahpur area on Sohna Road here today. After getting information on Thursday, a police team reached the spot, and with the help of JCB machines and fire brigade, pulled out the body from the 10-ft deep sewer after three hours.

    “The body was decomposed and a laptop bag was found with the deceased. Besides the laptop, a mobile and a power bank were found in the bag. As per a document in the bag, the deceased was identified as Dinesh Kumar (30), a resident of Mathura in UP. We have kept the body in a mortuary and are trying to confirm the identify of the deceased,” said SHO Madan Lal of the Badshahpur police station.

    The police received information around 3 pm that foul smell was coming out from an open sewer manhole near Vatika Chowk. When the police team spotted a body inside the sewer, they called a team of the Gurugram MC there.

    “We are trying to contact the family of the deceased. Postmortem will be conducted tomorrow and an FIR will be registered only after identification,” added the SHO.

    Residents said this unfortunate incident had brought to the fore grave negligence on part of the MC and an FIR should be lodged against its officials.

    Gurugram (IANS) | A joint team of Haryana Chief Minister’s Flying Squad and Health Department on Thursday raided an illegally running hospital in Bajgheda village of Gurugram. The hospital ‘Anand’ was being run by four persons. The hospital has 13 beds, an operation theatre, general wards, a private room, a lab, medicines and an emergency room.

    Deputy Superintendent of Police Indrajit Yadav said, the CM Flying Squad had received information that a private hospital was being run illegally in the village. The team raided along with the health department officials.

    The DSP said that Rambir, a resident of Bhind in Madhya Pradesh, Vikas Bhardwaj, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, Nandkishore, a resident of Delhi and Mantu Kumar Pandey, a resident of Jharkhand, were found treating patients in the hospital. They could not present any legal document related to registration and permission to run hospital, lab, operation theater and medical store on demand.

    Electricity theft has also been detected during the raid conducted by the Discom department team in the illegal hospital. Necessary action will be taken against the illegal hospital by the electricity department, he said.

    Following the complaint of CM Flying Squad, an FIR has been registered at Bajgheda police station.

    Two school buses caught fire in Gurugram

    Gurugram (IANS) | Two school buses parked in the premises of a private school caught fire in Gurugram on Wednesday afternoon. According to fire officials, at around 1.15 pm, information was received that a sudden fire broke out in two buses parked in the premises of Euro International School located in Sector-45 of the city.

    However, no children were present inside the buses at the time of the incident. A spark allegedly started the fire in the bus which spread to the other bus as well, he said.

    In no time, both the buses started burning in flames. Four fire engines were sent to the spot to douse the fire.

    A 28-year-old woman was injured after she was hit by a speeding Audi car at DLF Phase 3 here late yesterday night. The driver fled away with his car from the spot.

    Complainant Tanvi Verma of DLF Phase 3 told the police that she was crossing a road on her way to Pink Towns House market when the accident occurred. I fell on the road and soon passersby and shopkeepers gathered. I was rushed to a nearby private hospital. I have suffered injuries on my head, shoulders, arms and legs. I want strict action against the driver,” Verma said.

    Following the complaint, an FIR has been registered against an unidentified person under Sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code at the DLF Phase 3 police station. “We are trying to identify the driver by analysing the footage of CCTV cameras installed in nearby area. The accused will be nabbed soon,” Inspector Rajender Singh, SHO of the DLF Phase 3 police station, said.

    In the city, reporting an average of 150 cases daily, the number of active cases has crossed 1,000. The administration has sounded an alert, asking people not to ignore Covid precautions. Hospitals have been asked to be on high alert and make arrangements for Covid wards. They have also been asked to ensure optimum oxygen supply. A review of oxygen plants has been ordered.

    Gurugram, (IANS) | Ten people, including two spa owners, were arrested on Sunday for allegedly running a sex racket from a spa located in Gurgaon’s Omaxe Mall. Acting on a tip off, a policeman posing as a fake customer visited Blue Stone Spa on Sunday. It was found that the owner of the spa was involved in prostitution.

    A team from Sector 50 police station raided Blue Stone Spa and arrested 10 people, later identified as spa owners Mukesh, Umesh and customers Sagar, Vikrant, Nobo, Yogesh, Mohinder, Prem, Sudhant and Vinod. done.

    During the raid, a woman and a man were found in objectionable positions in a room of the spa centre, a police official said.

    Headquarters ACP Abhilaksh Joshi said that following credible information a police team reached the spot and arrested the criminals red-handed, who were in compromising position. The police have arrested two owners and eight customers, who were involved in the flesh trade.

    The arrested people have been booked under various sections of the Immoral Trafficking Act and an FIR has been registered against them at Sector 50 police station.

    A DLF phase-3 resident has filed a complaint against the operators of an online mobile application for allegedly duping her of over Rs 2 lakh. An FIR has been registered at the cyber east police station.

    Palakk Srivastava said her friend had asked her to invest in an app called “BP PLC” last year and promised high returns. “My friend made me join a WhatsApp group with an admin named Sarah. My mother and I collectively made transactions of around Rs 2.30 lakh to the app through various UPI IDs. On December 15 last year, I requested for a withdrawal of my funds but haven’t received anything as yet. The WhatsApp group had nearly 800 members. Everyone has been asking for their money but the admin is asking them to invest more. Nearly 1,000 persons have been scammed,” said Palakk in her complaint.

    Wanted criminal arrested after encounter

    Gurugram (IANS) | Gurugram police arrested a criminal carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 after an encounter in the early hours of Monday. The arrested person has been identified as Yogendra alias Rinku (36).

    According to the police, he was the main accused involved in the attack on the family of a former sarpanch in Kasan village on November 4, 2021. Four people were killed in the attack, while two were injured.

    The Gurugram police had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.

    After the Kasan incident, the accused were hiding in Jharkhand and Rajasthan.

    With the arrest of the main accused, the police have so far arrested 18 people, including 3 minors, in this case.

    The accused told the police that in November 2021, he along with his attackers fired more than 40 bullets at the Sarpanch’s family.

    Police said Yogendra allegedly committed the crime to avenge the murder of his brother Manoj, who was killed by a member of the victim’s family on the occasion of Holi in 2007.

    Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Preetpal Sangwan said that the accused was involved in eight incidents including murder, attempt to murder, attack on police team and was continuously active in carrying out serious incidents.

    An I-20 car, a country-made pistol, a pistol and three empty shells have been recovered from his possession.

    Fake call center busted in Gurugram, 9 arrested

    Gurugram, (IANS) | A fake call center duping foreign nationals by posing as employees of companies like Amazon, Apple and eBay to provide customer support services was busted in Gurugram and nine people were arrested in this connection. The illegal call center was operating from the basement of a house located in Sushant Lok here. The call center owner Mayank Sharma and his associates Mukesh, Arun, Nikita, Ayushi, Himani, Ritika, Jhanvi Srivastava and Kulwinder Kaur have been arrested. Mayank Sharma is a resident of Kurukshetra.

    Station House Officer Cybercrime Police Station (East) Inspector Jasveer told IANS that based on a tip-off, the police raided the center late on Thursday night. The operator of the said call center failed to produce any valid document from DoT or any other agreement related to their work.

    ACP (Cyber) Priyanshu Dewan said the suspects were produced before a local court on Friday. Police detained three persons including the owner of the call center for further questioning.
