Haridwar. Haridwar Police has arrested the accused husband who beat his wife to death in the greed of dowry. The police has challaned the accused. According to the information, on May 29, Raj Singh, a resident of Jamalpur in Kankhal, had filed a dowry case against his son-in-law in Kotwali Ganganahar Roorkee in connection with the murder of his daughter for non-fulfillment of dowry demands. After this, the police team arrested the accused husband Shivam’s son Jasvir resident of village Gangnauli police station Nagal, Saharanpur Uttar Pradesh, resident of Sangam Vihar Subhasnagar district Haridwar from Nasheman Tirahe near railway station. The police has challaned the accused.

Haridwar: Students of Shri Bhagwan Das Adarsh Sanskrit College raised the pride of Uttarakhand in Tirupati
Haridwar: A group of students of Shri Bhagwan Das Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya, Haridwar organized the All India Sanskrit Student Talent Festival 2023 from 19.4.2023 to 22.04.2023 by National Sanskrit University, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Participating students from universities and colleges of the country were present in this festival. The students of Shri Bhagwan Das Adarsh Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya also participated in this Sanskrit function. In which Shastri second year student Dipanshu Herbola got second place in Sanskrit singing competition and silver medal and prize money of three thousand rupees, Shastri second year student Rohan Bahukhandi got second place in 100 meters race and got silver medal and three thousand rupees prize. Rakesh Chandra Pokharia, a third year student of Rashi, Shastri, brought laurels to the Uttarakhand state and the college in Tirupati by winning bronze medal by securing third position in 800 meters race.
The college family welcomed all the victorious students on their return to Haridwar after visiting pilgrimage centers like Tirupati etc. Principal in-charge of the college, Dr. Brajend Kumar Singhdev said that it is a moment of pride that the students of the college have participated and emerged victorious in various all-India competitions organized in far south India. Our effort is always that the student should be ready for all-round development along with the study and teaching of Sanskrit scriptures. The college is striving hard to provide facilities for the development of the students. Registration Of Pilgrims For Kedarnath Yatra Suspended Till Apr 30 In Rishikesh, Haridwar Due To Bad Weather
The registration of pilgrims for the Kedarnath yatra was on Sunday suspended till April 30 in Rishikesh and Haridwar due to rain and snowfall in the upper reaches of the Garhwal Himalayas, officials said. The Kedarnath Dham will be opened to the public on Tuesday.
Additional Commissioner (Administration) of Garhwal Division and Additional Chief Executive Officer of Chardham Yatra Administration Organisation Narendra Singh Kaviriyal said that in view of the bad weather and heavy snowfall, the registration of pilgrims for the Kedarnath yatra has been suspended till April 30 in Rishikesh and Haridwar.
The government will review the weather conditions in the coming days and accordingly take a decision in the interest of the pilgrims, he said. Due to incessant rain and snowfall in the upper reaches of the Garhwal Himalayas, the mercury in the region has dropped significantly and authorities are facing problems in clearing the snow that keeps accumulating on footpaths.An official spokesperson said the state government has urged the pilgrims to check the weather forecast before starting the yatra and to carry enough warm clothes. The government also said that due to the weather, the pilgrims might have to face all sorts of problems during the yatra. However, adequate medical arrangements have been made along all the yatra routes, it said.
It added that it is committed to ensuring smooth, safe and uninterrupted travel for the pilgrims and the arrangements are being regularly monitored at the highest level. The registration of pilgrims for the other three dhams — Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri — is underway. While the shrines of Gangotri and Yamunotri opened on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya on Saturday, the Badrinath Dham will open on April 27. So far, more than 16 lakh people from India and abroad have registered for the Chardham Yatra, according to officials.

Chief Minister Dhami became strict on land jihad, illegal construction will not be tolerated
Haridwar (IANS) | Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Haridwar on Sunday. Here he met Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Awadheshanand. The Chief Minister gave his response on land jihad including Chardham Yatra starting from April 22, construction of Ring Road in Haridwar, construction of Harki Paidi Corridor. During this, once again Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has again given a statement on land jihad. He warned that whoever encroached by making an illegal tomb should be removed soon. At the same time, he talked about not tolerating illegal constructions under any circumstances.
Actually, on Land Jihad, Pushkar Singh Dhami said that for many years, Land Jihad was going on in Devbhoomi under a conspiracy, which will not be tolerated now. He has an appeal to all, who have encroached by making an illegal shrine. He should remove it himself, otherwise the administration will remove it soon. Now illegal construction will not be tolerated at any cost.
Along with this, Chief Minister Dhami said that a different form of Haridwar will be seen in the coming times. To get rid of the jam and to improve the traffic system of Haridwar, the work of Ring Road is going on. Apart from this, to enhance the beauty of Haridwar, the construction work of corridor will start soon in Harki Paidi area. After this, a different form of Haridwar will be seen.
On the other hand, on the Chardham Yatra starting from April 22, CM Dhami said that it is the priority of the government to complete the Chardham Yatra in a safe and orderly manner. For which all preparations are being done by the government. So far, more than 11 lakh devotees have registered for Chardham Yatra 2023. Apart from this, keeping in view the arrangements for the devotees, it has also been decided that those who will book in the hotel. They will automatically be registered for Chardham Yatra. It is the priority of the government to provide darshan of all the dhams in a safe and orderly manner to the devotees who are coming to visit the Chardham Yatra.
