    Visakhapatnam: A multi-level parking facility was inaugurated at Coast Guard residential area in Visakhapatnam.

    The first-of-its-kind among the defence establishments in Visakhapatnam has a two-floored parking space for 104 vehicles.

    With an area of 28,000-sqft, the parking also has a facility for charging (EVs) at the ground floor.

    The facility, completed in 13 months, was inaugurated in the presence of the Coast Guard Commander, Eastern Seaboard, Additional Director General S Paramesh, among others.

    Haridwar: Yog guru Baba Ramdev organized Sannyas Diksha Mahotsav in Haridwar. On this occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah performed Havan with Baba Ramdev. Amit Shah also inaugurated the newly constructed building of Patanjali University. Shah said he is happy to see that ancient Indian knowledge will derive new energy from the “army” of young sanyasis prepared by Patanjali.

    He said Ramdev’s individual contribution to yoga, Ayurveda and swadeshi was more than an institution could do for them. Shah praised Ramdev’s close aide Acharya Balkrishna for his extensive research work in the field of Ayurveda, saying he had published more than 500 research papers on Ayurveda.

    Shah performed a havan at Patanjali Yogpeeth before beginning his address. Earlier in the day, Shah hailed the central government’s New Education Policy for its emphasis on learning in the mother tongue and universal education based on the teachings of Indian visionaries such as Mahatma Gandhi and Dayanand Saraswati. Addressing the 113th convocation of the Gurukula Kangri here, Shah credited the university (deemed to be) for the revival of vedic education in India and combining it with modern education.

    Shah paid tributes to the university’s founder Swami Shraddhanand saying he set India’s education system free from the stranglehold of the British and revived the country’s vedic education system, all the while emphasising culture and modern education.

    The home minister also addressed a programme at Rishikul to mark the total computerisation of 670 cooperative centres. “It has been done in just 17 months. I heartily congratulate Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Health and Cooperative Minister Dhan Singh Rawat on this achievement,” Shah said. Shah gave the credit for this achievement to the separate cooperative ministry set up under the leadership of the prime minister. Computerisation of cooperative platforms will lead to total transparency and greater fiscal discipline, Shah, who is also the Union cooperative minister, said.

    Karimnagar: District Collector inaugurated an anemia blood test centre for the students of Vageswari College of Pharmacy as part of potion abhiyan at Timmapur mandal in karimnagar on Saturday. Speaking to the students on this occasion, the Collector advised them to develop awareness about the anemia that frustrates you and impairs your concentration along with the daily food intake and their daily habits.

    So far 2,3,0000 people have been tested for anemia in the district and everyone who is facing the problem of anemia has been advised to take more iron and millet food. According to the severity of the problem, the doctor should be consulted and medicines should be used. He asked them to know the problem faced by women due to anemia and educate their family members as well as other women. District Welfare department officer Sabita Kumari, tehsildar Kanakaiah, medical officers, CDPOs and students participated in this programme.

    Advanced Computing-Informatics Laboratory inaugurated at MJCET

    Hyderabad: Muffakham Jah College of Engineering and Technology (MJCET) newly established Advanced Computing and Informatics lab was inaugurated on Monday by Dr Faiyazunnissa, Mohammed Waliullah Chairman and Zafar Javeed Secretary Sultan-ul-uloom Education Society (SUES).

    It was named after the former chairman of SUES, Late Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan, in commemoration of his distinguished services and contributions to the society and institute.

    The newly established centre for advanced computing and informatics was established at the cost of Rs 95 lakhs with the state of art computing facilities and caters to the need for high performance computing requirements.

    Dr Faiyazunnissa, wife of the Late Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan, expressed her gratitude and emotionally appreciated the efforts for taking forward the vision and contributions of the late Khan Lateef Mohammad Khan to the society and the institute.

    Nalgonda: Tata Motors has launched its showroom in Nalgonda to bring its services closer to the people in the town.Tata Motors zonal manager Nitul Sharma attended as the chief guest and inaugurated the showroom. VVC Motors Venkataramana Group managing director VV Rajendra Prasad and Nalgonda managing partner Vikramaditya and Mahbubnagar managing partner Viran Chaudhary participated in the opening programme of Venkataramana Tata Motors.Harrier Red Dark and Tiago Electric vehicles were launched on the occasion.

VVC Motors Venkataramana Group MD Rajendra Prasad said that the newly established showroom in Nalgonda would provide all the services that are offered by the company. The showroom is spread over 50,000 square feet and includes a workshop, too. He assured that timely services with quality and reliability would be provided by the showroom.
