    9 shot at in ‘targeted incident’ in San Francisco

    San Francisco:  At least nine people were shot at in San Francisco’s Mission District area in what authorities have termed as a “targeted and isolated incident”.

    Addressing a news conference early Saturday, San Francisco Police Department Officer Eve Laokwansathitaya said that the victims are expected to survive the Friday night shooting, which took place while “some sort of block party” was underway, CNN reported.

    At least five of the victims were hospitalized, according to Santiago Lerma, a legislative aide to a San Francisco Board of Supervisors member.

    One of the five wounded is undergoing surgery, while four people were treated for minor injuries, Lerma told CNN affiliate KPIX.

    San Francisco Police Department officers were called to the Mission District around 9 p.m. on Friday night.

    “When officers arrived on scene they located multiple victims suffering from gunshot wounds,” CNN quoted the police as saying in a statement.

    “Officers summoned medics to the scene to treat and transport the victims to local area hospitals.”

    The Mission District, popularly known as The Mission, is a large and diverse neighbourhood often known for its historic architecture in the east-central portion of San Francisco.

    Jagdalpur. An unknown person threw acid on the bride and groom during the wedding ceremony at Amabal in the district. A dozen people including the bride and groom were injured in the incident. The injured have been taken to Bhanpuri Civil Hospital for treatment. On the other hand, on getting information about the incident, the Narayanpur MLA has reached the hospital to know the condition of the injured. Where he has instructed the doctors to provide better treatment. According to the information, the wedding ceremony was going on in Amabal village near Bhanpuri. Meanwhile, suddenly the light went off. As soon as the light turned on, an unknown person threw acid on the bride and groom. Not only the bride and groom but other people standing around also came in the grip of this acid. Immediately after the attack, there was an outcry on the spot and people in a hurry saw the injured in the light of mobile phones.

    The injured were taken to Primary Health Center Bhanpuri for treatment in the vehicle of the local MLA present on the spot. A total of 12 people, including 7 women of the village, were injured in acid burn. All have minor injuries. After first aid, the police has also started inquiry on the spot. According to the information received from the police, after the incident, all the people are in a state of shock and at present, the search for the accused will be started.

    While playing from the first floor in Surat, a two-year-old boy suffered a serious head injury after falling. The child was taken to the hospital where he died after some time of treatment. There has been a commotion in the Lodhi family living in Mahadev Society in Palsana area of Surat.

    Shankar Lodhi, originally from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, works in a loom factory in Surat. Here he lives with wife Rajni Devi and two-year-old son Mayank. Shankar’s wife Rajni Devi was cooking in the kitchen while son Mayank was playing in the gallery on the first floor of the house.

    Meanwhile, the boy Mayank suddenly fell down from the gallery while playing. He had a serious head injury. After the incident, people around ran and the child was immediately taken to Surat Civil Hospital in 108, where the child died after some time of treatment.

    The family is deeply shocked by the death of a son. On getting information about the incident, Palsana police have registered a case of accidental death and started further action. This incident is like a red light for parents. When the mother cooked at home and the father went to work, it was difficult to leave the child alone to play. When the lonely child fell from the first floor, there was no one to save him, hence this accident happened. This phenomenon shows that parents need to pay more attention to the care of children.
