    On the basis of secret information, the team of City Crime Branch raided the premises named Moneyplant Hub located on SG Highway and arrested 6 accused. These include Nitin Patel, Maulik Patel, Manish Rajput, Ajay Chaurasia, Vikram Barot and Bharat Bhatt. While Himanshu and Bhadresh Patel are wanted. Police interrogation revealed that these people had not taken any kind of license from the stock exchange. These accused used to work in the stock market illegally and caused financial loss to the Government of India. Since violating SEBI rules is a crime, the police have filed a complaint and are investigating further.

The names of the three people arrested are Amit Galani, Ajay Ladumore and Vivek Makwana. Galani is the principal in-charge of GL Kakadia College of Commerce and Management, while Ladumore and Makwana are students of the college.

    The arrests were made after a complaint was lodged by Kaushik Bhatt, Registrar, Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, and sections 406, 409, 120B, 114, and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 72 of the Information Technology Act were registered against the accused. And an FIR was registered under 72A. The accused have been charged with several offenses including criminal conspiracy and breach of confidentiality.

     Four children became critically ill after consuming pesticide in a farm field in Odisha’s Bhadrak district on Thursday.

    According to sources, the incident occurred while the four children in the age group of one and a half years to 3 years were playing in a farmland in Jhinkiria village under Tihidi block of the district in the morning. They came across a pesticide bottle lying there and all of them drank from the bottle.

    After some time, some villagers found them lying unconscious in the field and informed their parents. Two of the children are brother and sister.

    The villagers rushed the unconscious children to government hospital at Tihidi. Later, they were shifted to the district headquarters hospital (DHH) at Bhadrak.

    The doctors of the DHH said the children were still unconscious and under observation. If their condition does not improve, they would be referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, they added.

    Odisha Govt To Appoint District Officers As Project Directors Of DUDA On Contractual Basis

     In order to ensure effective management of the urban local bodies (ULBs), the Odisha government has decided to appoint district level officers as project director (PD) of District Urban Development Agency (DUDA).

    As per the decision taken by the Housing and Urban Development department, the post of PD, DUDA will be filled up from the pool of superannuated officers from OAS/OFS/OPS/ORS/District Statistical Officer/District Small Savings Officer and any other district level officers.

    The officers would undergo orientation, training and handholding along with a strong PMU and logistics to meet various functional requirements.

    The State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) will engage the services of PDs in the districts where the posts are lying vacant. Their service will be purely contractual for 1 year. The expenditure for the purpose would be met from the capacity building fund available with SUDA.

    The department has taken the decision as it has become increasingly difficult to effectively manage the ULBs across the state in the absence of effective supervision structure at the intermediate level.

    Odisha Govt Replaces Jharsuguda Collector Ahead Of Byelection To Assembly Seat

    Bhubaneswar: One month ahead of the byelection to Jharsuguda Assembly constituency in Odisha, the state government has effected a change in the district collector.

    A notification, issued by the General Administration and Public Grievances department on Thursday, stated that Subarnapur district collector Aboli Sunil Naravane has been appointed as Jharsuguda collector.

    “In exercise of the powers conferred under Section 20 (1) of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973 (Act II of 1974), the state government hereby appoints Aboli Sunil Naravane as the District Magistrate of Jharsuguda,” the notification stated.

    Naravane, a 2015 batch IAS officer, will replace present Jharsuguda collector Saroj Samal.

    It may be noted that the byelection to Jharsuguda Assembly seat will be held on May 10. The bypoll was necessitated following the murder of its BJD MLA and Health minister Naba Kishore Das on January 29.

    Two weeks after kidnap and rescue of a contractor from Bhubaneswar, police have released another contractor from his abductors in Bhadrak district.

    Speaking to media persons on Thursday, Balasore SP Sagarika Nath said Nirabala Kundu, the wife of contractor Sibanand Patra, on Wednesday night filed a complaint at Talsari police station alleging that her husband had been kidnapped from near Chandaneswar.

    She also stated that the kidnappers demanded Rs 40 lakh as ransom to release Patra and she had paid Rs 5 lakh in cash and the rest amount in cheques.

    After registering the case, the police started investigation and came to know that Patra was abducted in a red colour car. Two separate teams, one of Cyber police and another from Talsari police station, were formed to trace Patra. While one team went to Mayurbhanj, another headed for Balasore.

    After tracking the mobile phones used by the kidnappers to make the ransom call, the police traced them in a hotel near Balasore railway station. During a raid on Thursday, the police rescued Patra and arrested the kidnapper.

    The kidnapper was identified as another contractor Suman Varun Dey of Balasore. Both contractors were known to each other for a long time, the SP said.

    It may be noted that Commissionerate Police had rescued a contractor from Bhubaneswar on March 20, two days after he was kidnapped from near his house in the city.

    The Seventh India-Japan defence policy dialogue was held in New Delhi on April 5, 2023. It was co-chaired by Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane and Japan’s Vice Minister of Defence for International Affairs Oka Asami. A wide range of issues including service-level exercises and engagements, regional security issues and cooperation in defence equipment and technology were discussed during the meeting.

    Oka Asami also provided policy updates from Japan’s just-released National Security Strategy and National Defence Strategy. The growing cooperation between their agencies thanks to staff meetings and training exercises was appreciated by both countries. They applauded the Indian and Japanese self-defence forces’ conduct of the inaugural fighter drill “Veer Guardian” in Japan in January 2023.

    The defence minister emphasised that both nations should work to strengthen their defence industry partnerships. He also gave an invitation to the Japanese defence industries to look at the investment opportunities in India under the ‘Make In India initiative’. Both parties concurred to broaden their areas of cooperation in the cyber, defence, and new and emerging space sectors.

    Both India and Japan have reiterated their comments towards a strong defence partnership and agreed to find opportunities to further enhance the bilateral cooperation between the two nations. The next defence policy dialogue will take place at mutually suitable times, as both parties agreed. A formalised process for discussing bilateral collaboration and communication between Japan and India is the defence policy dialogue. The “Veer Guardian” exercise took place between the countries in Japan and ended on 26th January 2023.

    In numerous simulated operational scenarios, the drill required both the air forces to execute complicated and comprehensive aerial manoeuvres with meticulous planning and skill. Both air forces provided meticulous planning and deft execution for the drill. In both visual and beyond visual range situations, the IAF and JASDF participated in air combat, intercept, and defence operations.

    India and Japan concurred that the next Defence Policy Dialogue should take place on equally agreeable dates. A formalised process for discussing bilateral military cooperation between Japan and India is the military Policy Dialogue. This enhances the ability to counter common enemy threats like China which is a major threat to both nations and counter the dragon in the South China Sea and the Indo-Pacific region.

    New Delhi: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Thursday issued a notification regarding recruitment for around 1.30 lakh posts of constables in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) with 10 percent reservation for Agniveers.

    The notification reads, “In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 18 of the Central Reserve Police Force Act, 1949 (66 of 1949) and in supersession of the Central Reserve Police Force Group ‘C’ (General Duty/Technical/Tradesmen) Cadre Recruitment Rules, 2010 in so far as they relate to the post of (General Duty Cadre), Constable, except as respects things done or omitted to be done before such supersession, the Central Government hereby makes the following rules regulating the method of recruitment to the post of Constable (General Duty) in Group ‘C’ post, General Duty Cadre in the Central Reserve Police Force.”

    Number of CRPF constable vacancies
    A total of 1,29,929 posts of Constable (General Duty) which includes 4667 posts for women in General Central Service, Group ‘C’, Non-Gazetted, (Non-Ministerial Combatant) have been announced in the notification.

    The upper age limit shall be relaxable upto five years for the candidates of the first batch of Ex-Agniveers. And the upper age limit shall be relaxable upto three years for the candidates of Ex-Agniveers. Ex-Agniveers shall be exempted from Physical Efficiency Test (PET), it reads.

    It further reads that 10 percent of vacancies shall be reserved for Ex-Agniveers for recruitment to the post of Constable
