Nanavati has ordered death penalty and a fine of fifty thousand rupees to the accused under Section 5 and 6 of the POCSO Act. The court had earlier sentenced accused Vijay Popatji Thakor to life imprisonment in two other cases of rape.

    According to the information received, accused Vijay Popatji Thakor had abducted a girl weaving wood near Santej village. The accused made the girl sit on his motorcycle and took her to an isolated place in the field near Nasmed canal on Rancharda-Khatraj road, raped her and fled after injuring her in the private part. After this incident, there was a stir in the whole locality. After the police filed the charge sheet in the court, Additional Judge A.A. The case went on before Nanavati.

Apart from this, in another case, a minor girl was raped and her mobile phone was looted. Both these cases went to court and he was sentenced to life imprisonment.

    Order to give compensation of ten lakh rupees to the victim

    The court ordered a compensation of Rs 10 lakh to the rape victim. Out of which an amount of Rs. 4 lakh has already been paid. In view of the seriousness of the matter and the physical condition of the girl child, an additional payment of Rs 6 lakh has been ordered, taking the total assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the victim. The accused wept as soon as the Kalol court sentenced him to death. Allegations were being leveled against the accused who murdered small girls like flowers after raping them. There was uproar in the campus after the first death sentence in the Kalol court.

    The victim got justice after 525 days

    The accused had raped the girl on November 4, 2021 in Santej, Kalol. The black act of this incident echoed in the entire Gandhinagar district. The rape victim got justice after 525 days. The rape victim was seriously injured and was admitted to the hospital for treatment. Gandhinagar police had borne the expenses of the treatment of the girl who was hanging between life and death. The then police chief of Gandhinagar district as well as range IG and other police personnel showed humanity and bore the cost of the treatment.

    Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Thursday enhanced the financial assistance amount of the Harischandra Sahayata Jojana. Earlier, Rs 2000 was given to the next of the kin of a deceased person for performing last rites of the deceased in rural area. This has been enhanced to Rs. 3000. Similarly, earlier the amount of Harischandra Sahayata was Rs 3000 in the urban areas. It has been enhanced to Rs 4000.

    As per a note released from the Office of the CM on Thursday, it was said that as per the directive of CM Naveen Patnaik, the assistance amount of Harischandra Sahayata Yojana for urban areas has been enhanced to Rs 4000. This amount is also applicable for performing funeral rites at the famous Swargadwara of Puri. Similarly, the said amount was enhanced to Rs 3000 for rural areas.

    It is to be noted that financial assistance is provided to poor people for performing the last rites of their deceased relatives. The fund is given from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

    A revolving fund of Rs 15,000 has been sanctioned for each Grampanchayats for the above-mentioned assistance. Hence, for the Revolving fund of panchayats across the State an amount of Rs 10 crore 19 lakhs and 10 thousand has been sanctioned.

    To monitor this new process either the extension officer of gram panchayat or any other block-level officer will be given charge. To meet the change, the necessary changes have been made in the software and the list of panchayats has been prepared.

    Dhenkanal: Dhenkanal Police on Thursday seized 2 kg 618 gram of Ganja that is worth Rs. 1. 17 lakh. Two persons have been arrested in this connection.

    The accused persons have been identified as Sudhanshu Kumar of Bihar and Sudhakar Das of Bhaliabol village in Dhenkanal.

    As per reports, Dhenkanal Town Police today conducted a raid and seized ganja worth Rs. 1.17 lakh. Police detained the two accused persons and interrogating them in the Police Station.

    Shimla, New Delhi: According to the latest report of the Association for Democratic Reforms, currently 29 out of 30 Chief Ministers are crorepatis. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s name is at the top of this list. At number two is Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, while West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has the least assets, according to the report. According to ADR, Himachal Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu’s total assets are Rs 7.81 crore and he is at number 17 in the list of richest chief ministers of the country. Along with this, he is having a liability of more than Rs 22 lakh. According to the report, a total of four cases are registered against CM Sukhu, out of which only one is of serious crime. ADR and Election Watch came to this conclusion after analyzing the affidavits filed by 30 sitting chief ministers of states and union territories. After analyzing the affidavits of 30 Chief Ministers, ADR found that 29 i.e. 97 percent of the Chief Ministers are crorepatis.

    Each of these chief ministers has an average of Rs 33.96 crore in assets. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy is the richest. He has assets worth Rs 510.38 crore. On the second number is Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, who has assets worth 163.50 crores. It is followed by Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik with 63.87 crores. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal have assets worth Rs.3 crore each. After this Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan and Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar have assets worth one crore each. West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee has the least assets. Mamta Banerjee has assets worth only 15 lakhs.

    13 out of 30 CMs have serious criminal cases

    Out of 30 Chief Ministers of the country, 13 i.e. 43 percent have criminal cases registered against them under serious sections. It also includes cases like murder, attempt to murder and kidnapping. Serious criminal cases are non-bailable offenses with jail term of more than five years, the report said.

In such a situation, the consumers have been able to get ration in the depots only after about three and a half to four hours.

    Depot holders are also very hurt due to server down, because without server they are unable to give ration. It is being told that even on Tuesday, the server was running intermittently throughout the day. Consumers have urged the state government to allow the depots to give ration through other options as well, so that when the server is down, the ration of the depots can be given by scanning the QR code and card. In such a situation, the consumers will not have to visit the depots again and again. The problem of server down in depots has been seen across the state. On the other hand, Ashok Kavi State President Depot Steering Committee said that there has been a problem of server down in most of the state’s depots. Heated exchanges of consumers with several depot holders have also been reported. The state government should find a permanent solution to the server down, so that the consumers do not have to worry.

    Shimla: A case of cheating in the name of lottery of Baidyanath Ayurveda has come to light from a retired peon from the education department at Saluni in Chamba district of the state. The miscreants have cheated the victim of an amount of Rs 11 lakh 50 thousand in the name of lottery. The complaint of the case has been lodged by the victim in Cyber Police Station Dharamshala. On the other hand, the police have registered a case on the basis of the complaint of the victim and have started further action in the case. According to the information, a resident of Dharmchand, Saloni district Chamba, has lodged a complaint with the police that on September 2022, a register letter was received at his home address, inside which a letter from Baidyanath Ayurveda was found along with a scratch card. On scratching the card, he got a lottery of Rs 14 lakh 99 thousand 999. The complainant told that after scratching the scratch card, he called the helpline number 1993715490 written on that letter, then an unknown person from the front said that your lottery is on.

    Under the guise of thugs, 9000 rupees were deposited in his bank account from Lokmitra Kendra. The complainant told that after that some person called repeatedly on his mobile and kept demanding 15000, 22000, 37000 in this order up to 100000 and he kept pouring money slowly. The victim came under the guise of thugs and deposited an amount of about Rs 11 lakh 50 thousand in the account of the vicious people. The complainant said that the miscreants are still demanding more money from him.     Shimla: Himachal Road Transport Corporation i.e. HRTC will operate Volvo buses from Volvo station only from three depots of the state and Volvo buses will be run on rotation basis. HRTC management is going to operate Volvo from Shimla, Palampur and Kullu only. HRTC officials say that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the better management and maintenance of Volvo. HRTC has issued orders asking all Volvos with staff to be sent to Shimla, Palampur and Kullu. HRTC currently has around 100 Volvo buses, while 11 more Volvo buses are going to be added to the HRTC fleet. There are many depots across the state from where only one or two Volvo buses of HRTC ply. Maintenance staff is not available with HRTC in these depots. For maintenance one has to go to Shimla Kullu or Palampur. In such a situation, HRTC has decided that Volvo will have only three working stations across the state. Buses will be run from here on rotation basis, so that other routes of HRTC are not affected. It is being told that like the Volvo bus plying from Shimla to Sarkaghat will be run from Shimla. First HRTC bus will go on Shimla-Delhi route from here. From there Sarkaghat and from Sarkaghat back to Delhi and then from Delhi to Shimla. Similarly, by making a similar rotation at other places, Volvo will reach its depot.

    Gagan. Anti-Narcotics Force Kullu team arrested a 30-year-old youth with 14 grams of chitta at Salapad, Sundernagar on NH-21 Chandigarh-Manali and started investigation by registering a case against him under the NDPS Act.
