Regular flights will start from this year from two new airports in Jharkhand

Ranchi (IANS) | Air services will start from two new airports in Jharkhand this year. These airports are located at Dumka and Bokaro. The process of regular air connectivity has been started at both these airports under the Government of India’s scheme ‘Udaan’ (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik).

Permission has been given to two airlines, Alliance Air and Flyweek, to fly from Bokaro and Dumka airports. KL Aggarwal, Director, Airport Authority of India, Ranchi, said that the work of Bokaro Airport has almost been completed.

The airport at Bokaro has been developed by SAIL, but currently there are no commercial flights from here. Here SAIL has provided all the facilities required for commercial flights. Here ATC tower, runway, fire feet, passenger lobby, main gate and other structures have been completed. There will be a meeting every month to remove the problems coming in the way of flight from Bokaro Airport. The Airport Authority of India’s MoU was renewed in January to start the airline from Bokaro Airport. Since then the process of licensing was started. But, the process was slowed down due to non-cutting of trees. Here the state government has to provide other facilities including security.

Aggarwal told that the air service will start from Dumka also from the year 2023 itself. The Airport Authority of India is making efforts for this. Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has assured that flights will start from here soon. At present, regular flight services are available from Ranchi and Deoghar airports in Jharkhand. With the commencement of services from two new airports, where the air connectivity of Jharkhand will improve, the common people will also be facilitated.

Because of this, it is natural for them to be nostalgic in this building, but the truth is that the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi has been the center of attraction since the British period due to its unmatched architecture, excellent architecture and unique beauty.

Jharkhand may have come into existence as a separate state on 15 November 2000, but the history of the Raj Bhavan in Ranchi is more than 9 decades old. Due to its excellent climate and natural beauty, Ranchi used to be the summer capital of Bihar. During this time this Raj Bhavan was built.

Probably it is one of the few such buildings in the whole country, which is connected by a secret underground tunnel. The marks of two gates leading to this tunnel are present near the Durbar Hall and the Dining Hall of the Raj Bhavan. It is said that no one knows how far the tunnel used to connect to these gates went. The website of Jharkhand Raj Bhavan also mentions these gates and the tunnel connected to them. The Jharkhand Raj Bhavan website states that there are two trap doors in the ground floor of the Raj Bhavan which are connected to underground tunnels and these tunnels lead to a secret place.

According to the Ranchi District Gazetteer, this two-storey building was built during the British rule for about seven lakh rupees. But the most interesting aspect of this building is the tunnel connected to it, of which only traces remain now. There are traces of the first entrance of the tunnel near the Durbar Hall and the second near the Dining Hall. No one knows when these gates were closed permanently. In the British era, tunnels were constructed in important buildings to escape from any calamity.
