    Kanker. Naxalites have once again created havoc. Naxalites have carried out the incident of arson in vehicles engaged in road construction work around Sitaram under Chhotabetiya police station of Pakhanjur area. Naxalites have set fire to 5 vehicles. It includes 2 Trucks, 1 Poklen, 1 Road Roller, 1 Water Tanker.

    All the vehicles were engaged in the ongoing road construction from Rajamunda to Kopenagunda. Pakhanjur SDOP Ravi Kujur told that “about 5 vehicles have been reported arson”. Being an internal area, not much information is coming out.” However, this is not the first time that Naxalites have carried out the incident of arson. Naxalites set vehicles on fire every day to protest against the road construction work.

    Kanker. A youth died in a road accident on Makadi Singarbhat bypass road in the city. An unknown vehicle hit a young man riding a scooty. Due to which the young man died on the spot. The deceased youth was returning from Makadi Dhaba after attending a wedding ceremony at the city’s community hall. Then an unknown vehicle hit him. The police have done the postmortem of the dead body and handed it over to the family members.

    In a road accident at Makadi Singarbhat road under construction of National Highway 30, a youth resident of Subhash Ward of the city died after being hit by an unknown vehicle. Ankit Sahu, a 19-year-old youth resident of Subhashward, had gone to attend a marriage function organized at the old community hall in Manjhapara. After returning from the marriage ceremony, the young man along with his friends went to Imlipara Housing Board Colony via the bypass route after having dinner at Makadi Dhaba. Meanwhile, he stopped at the bridge on the road to smoke with his friends. Meanwhile, Ankit took his friend Sagar’s scooty and went towards the bypass road, saying that he would be coming in a while.

    Kotwali police station in-charge Sharad Dubey told that a scooty rider died due to the collision of an unknown vehicle on the bypass road. Due to lack of CCTV in the road, the vehicle which hit the scooty rider could not be identified. Investigation is being done by establishing a marriage. After postmortem, the dead body has been handed over to the relatives.
