Sonia Gandhi will not attend the swearing-in ceremony. According to the source, this information has come to the fore. The same CPM Politburo leader Prakash Karat attacked the Congress for not inviting several chief ministers to the swearing-in ceremony. He said that the Congress party is not taking such a stand, so that the parties of different states can be united. They have not invited the Chief Ministers of Kerala and Telangana because the Congress is going to contest elections considering them as their enemies. Elections are going to be held in Telangana in December.

BRS said that BJP is their main enemy but Congress is ready to fight against BRS and defeat them. He is not talking about BJP. She should realize that she is not the only force fighting the BJP.

Siddaramaiah will take oath as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka on May 20.

After churning for four consecutive days regarding the Chief Minister in Karnataka, the Congress High Command has taken a decision. Siddaramaiah will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka and DK Shivakumar will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has reached a consensus for the formation of the Karnataka government. The swearing-in ceremony will take place on May 20 at 12.30 pm in Bengaluru.
Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting has been called in Bengaluru today (May 18) at 7 pm. Central observers of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) have been asked to reach Bengaluru for the CLP meeting. Earlier on Wednesday, Congress’ Karnataka in-charge Randeep Surjewala had said that the next chief minister will be decided today or tomorrow and a new cabinet will be formed within 72 hours.

On Wednesday, a long series of meetings of the contenders for the Chief Minister’s post with the Congress high command continued in Delhi. Several rounds of discussion took place between Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi. DK Shivkumar was also made to sit in the meeting to make a consensus. Earlier in the day, there were reports of a common agreement between Congress state president DK Shivakumar and senior leader Siddaramaiah regarding the chief minister’s post. It was claimed that preparations for the swearing-in are going on in full swing in Bengaluru. But by evening, the party denied this and was told that it will take 2-3 more time to decide the name of the CM. Now late night news has come that a consensus has been reached on the next Chief Minister.

DK Shivakumar said that I should be given the first term or else I don’t want anything. I will remain silent even in that situation. Along with this, DK Shivkumar had flatly refused for the post of Deputy CM as well.

BRS to hold crucial meeting in backdrop of Karnataka results

HYDERABAD: A crucial meeting of Telangana’s ruling party Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) is scheduled to be held here on Wednesday. To be presided over by party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, the meeting of BRS executive and parliamentary party assumes significance in the wake of Karnataka Assembly election results. KCR, as the Chief Minister is popularly known, is likely to explain to the party leaders why the result of Karnataka elections cannot be repeated in Telangana.

While the defeat of the BJP in Karnataka has brought cheers to the BRS as the saffron party was aggressively projecting itself as the only viable alternative, the Congress s upbeat over its victory and is claiming that the same will be repeated in Telangana. As the BRS is looking to score a hat-trick in Telangana, KCR is likely to explain how the party can overcome anti-incumbency to retain power. BRS working president and KCR’s son K.T. Rama Rao has already stated that Karnataka’s results have no bearing on Telangana.

The Assembly elections in Telangana are scheduled to be held later this year. At Wednesday’s meeting, KCR is also likely to give a roadmap to the party leaders to achieve the target.

The BRS chief is also expected to give direction to the party cadres about participation in state formation day celebrations. The government has already announced big plans to celebrate 10th year of state formation in a grand manner, highlighting the progress made by India’s youngest state.

KCR has decided to organise formation day celebrations for 21 days beginning from June 2. Ministers, MLAs, MLCs, MPs, executive members and chairpersons of corporations will attend the meeting. This will be the second high-level meeting of the BRS in 20 days. The previous general body meeting was held on April 27 to mark the party’s formation day.

Addressing the earlier meeting, KCR exuded confidence that the party will retain power in the state by winning more than 100 seats in the 119-member Assembly. “Coming to power again in Telangana is not a big task. The priority is to win more seats than before,” he had told the party leaders.

Karnataka Chief Minister’s name will be decided tomorrow, meeting will be held at Kharge’s house at 11 am

New Delhi. The results of the Karnataka Assembly elections have been a source of controversy in political circles across the country. Opposition parties have started planning attacks and strategy against the ruling BJP. When the meetings of Maha Vikas Aghadi have started in Maharashtra also, then who will be the Chief Minister in Karnataka? Talks started on this. Though there is a contest between Shivakumar and former chief minister Siddaramaiah for the chief minister’s post, the final decision is said to be taken by party president Mallikarjun Kharge.

There has been talk of a split in the Congress regarding the Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka. In this regard, the talk of Shivkumar adopting a different path has also started gaining momentum in the political corridors, while Shivkumar himself while talking to ANI has clarified his stand regarding the next political step. Not only this, he has also talked about what will be the target of the Congress party for the Lok Sabha elections.
“Lok Sabha elections are our next challenge. We should win at least 18 to 20 seats in the Lok Sabha elections”, said D.K.Shivakumar. As soon as he was asked about his desire for the chief minister’s post, he pointed fingers at the party leaders. The party will take a decision in this regard. Why should I care? If I am eligible, they will give me that responsibility”, he said.
In Karnataka Congress some MLAs support Shivakumar while some MLAs support Siddaramaiah. Will you take a different decision on the strength of the MLAs supporting you? As soon as the question was asked, Shivakumar dismissed the possibility.
I do not want to break any MLA. We are all one. We are over 135 in number. I don’t want to settle anywhere. MLA likes me or not. But I am the state president of the party. I am a responsible person. I want to treat everyone equally. This is the basic ideology of the Congress party. My best wishes to Siddaramaiah.”
I am not a backstabbing person. I’m not even a blackmailer. Those who have such culture should do so. why would I do that? I will not do that. I don’t want to create wrong history. One who is born has to go one day or the other. I do not want to leave any wrong mark”, D.K. Shivkumar also explained this.
