    Khammam: As the election time for the Telangana Legislative Assembly approaches, the political heat is increasing in the State. War of words between BRS, Congress and BJP leaders has intensified in the State.

    On the other hand, the politics of Khammam district in the State is gaining more interest. Former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy who was expelled from BRS is going to join Congress. He has been targeting the Chief minister KCR and BRS party in the recent times. He said that his aim was to oust KCR.

    In this order, posters were put up in Khammam giving a warning to Ponguleti. Posters warned that corpses of Ponguleti’s followers would not left. It warned that there will be dire consequences if inappropriate comments are made on BRS and Minister Puvvada Ajay. These posters were put up by unknown persons. These posters are creating a stir in Khammam. Ponguleti is yet to respond to these poster

    Khammam: Ensure foolproof measures for Group IV tests, officials told

    Khammam: Additional Collector N Madhusudhan on Saturday asked officials to make for conducting the Group-4 examinations preparations in an efficient manner on July 1.

    He along with the Superintendents of Examination Centres and Liaison Officers reviewed the conduct of Group-4 examinations at the IDOC conference hall on Saturday.

    Speaking on the occasion, he said that 163 centres have been set up for the conduct of examinations across the district and 49,781 candidates will write the examinations.

    The exams on July 1 will be conducted from 10 am to 12.30 pm and from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. TSPSC rules and regulations should be strictly followed by everyone. Candidates appearing for the examinations should be thoroughly screened and sent without any electronic gadgets other than cell phones before being allowed to the examination centres, he added.

    He said that mobile phones should not be allowed to the candidates as well as the invigilators. Chief Superintendents and Liaison Officers should act vigilantly.

    He said that a review will be done with liaison officers and chief superintendents in next two days.

    They should visit the pre-assigned examination centres and monitor the facilities and CC cameras there. At the time of giving the question papers and OMR sheets to the candidates, the candidates should be made aware of the bubbling process. It should be informed that any mistake in bubbling will not be considered.

    District Revenue Officer R. Sirisha, Superintendent of Examination Department Madangopal, Satyanarayana, Tehsildars, Chief Superintendents of Examination, Liaison Officers and others attended the meeting.

    Khammam: About 1500 bags of cotton got burnt when an open shed in Khammam cotton market caught fire. Two fire tenders one from Khammam and another from Nelakondapalli rushed to spot and controlled further loss.

    According to information about 2000 bags of cotton of Sri Siva Ganesh Krishna Traders which was kept as stock in open shed in the market premises which was purchased from farmers recently.

    The staff and some Hamalis noticed flames are spreading from open shed and informed to fire tenders who reached spot. Out of 2000 bags the officials noticed about 1500 bags were burnt completely.

    While the trader is claiming loss is Rs one crore but the cotton market officials said the loss was Rs 50 lakhs. The officials have not revealed any information about the cause of fire.

    Khammam: The State government has approved allocation of housing plots to Khammam journalists. On Thursday, the cabinet approved a proposal and allotted 23 acres for journalist dwelling sites at Khammam’s headquarters, informed Minister for Transport Puvvada Ajay Kumar.

    Previously, the government provided five acres for journalist dwelling sites. District Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar requested that the government offer 23 acres to all the qualified journalists in Khammam’s headquarters. Following his request, the government approved 23 acres for journalist housing in the district’s headquarters.

    Journalist leaders expressed their heartfelt gratitude to CM KCR. They praised Minister Ajay for keeping his promises to journalists.

    Khammam: After the arrested of BJP state unit chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar by the police at Karimnagar. The district police alerted and house arrested to a number of party leaders in the erstwhile Khammam district.

    The party district unit chief Galla Satyanarayana and Kisan Morcha state president Kondapalli Sridhar Reddy and other party leaders were arrested by the police.

    The leaders condemned the arrested party chief Bandi Sanjay Kumar. They alleged the BRS government wontedly troubled the party leaders in house arrests. They said the government failed to conduct all examinations including SSC.

    They demanded to make an inquiry with the sitting judge.

    Telangana: Teja chilli hits record price of Rs 25.5K per quintal in Khammam

    Hyderabad: The price of Teja variety chilli reached a record peak of Rs 25,550 per quintal in Khammam on Monday, marking the price as the highest per quintal of chilli fetched in the history of the agriculture market in the district.

    Transport minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar who took part in ‘jenda pata’ (price bidding) said that the Khammam Market would be made a hub for chilli in the international market as it has hit a record price in Telangana.
