    Contractor murder in Khordha; 4 accused arrested

    Khordha: Four miscreants involved in the killing of a contractor in Odisha’s Khordha district has been arrested by the Tangi police on Saturday.

    The four accused have been identified as Manoj Parida, Santosh Pradhan, Dilip Kumar Surjit and Gangadhar Subudhi.

    While speaking to the media, Khordha SP, Siddhart Kataria said that the deceased contractor Ramesh Rout was killed as he came to know about the miscreants’ involvement in a dacoity case.

    “All the accused were involved in a robbery incident at Mayurbhanj on June 14. The deceased contractor was present when he learnt about the robbery. A scuffle broke out and the miscreants killed the contractor as the robbery was disclosed before him,” said Khordha SP.

    Notably Ramesh Rout, the deceased contractr of Radhamohanpur of Khordha district was shot dead allegedly by two miscreants on June 18. Rout was returning home when the miscreants intercepted and fired three rounds at him. He died on the spot.

    Following the incident, the Tangi police launched a probe as the exact motive behind the murder was not immediately ascertained. All the four accused have been produced before the court.

    Khordha: In a shocking incident, a contractor was shot dead by two miscreants in Khordha distrct of Odisha. The incident has come to fore from Chandeswar Chowk in Tangi area of the district.

    The deceased has been identified as Ramesh Rout, a resident of Radhamohanpur. He had a construction company in Bangalore and was a contractor. The two accused have been identified as Dilip Kumar Surjit and Bunu Barik.

    According to sources, Ramesh was returning home with his two friends in bike when two miscreants came in motorbike and opened fire on him at National Highway no. 16. The locals spotted the incident, and rushed him to the Tangi Medical Center. However, the doctors declared Ramesh brought dead.

    On being informed, police reached the spot and started to probe into the matter. However, the reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained.

    Khordha: Drug dealer shot dead by miscreants

    Khordha: A drug dealer was shot dead by some miscreants in Khordha on Wednesday night. The incident has come to the fore from Thengahat area of Odisha’s Khordha district.

    The deceased has been identified as Somnath Bhujbal alia Paku, a well-known brown sugar dealer of Khordha.

    According to sources, Somnath was standing near Thengahat to leave for marriage party, when miscreants in a pick-up van shot him. They shot nearly five times and fled from the spot.

    The local rescued him and immediately rushed him to the nearby hospital in Khordha. He was later shifted to Bhubaneswar medical as his condition deteriorated. However, he succumbed to bullet injuries. Somnath had bullet injuries on his back, stomach and shoulder. Earlier, the property of the drug dealer was attached by the police.

    On being informed, police also reached the spot and initiated a probe into the matter.

    Youth killed, brother critical in assault by group of miscreants in Khordha

    Khordha: In an unfortunate incident, a group of miscreants killed a youth and left his elder brother critically injured in Khordha district of Odisha on Sunday. The incident took place in the Sanakumari village under Bolgarh block of Khordha district.

    The deceased youth has been identified as Bipin Rout and his elder brother, who sustained critical injury is Bikram Rout.

    As per reports, at about 10 am in the morning Bikram was attacked with sharp weapons by a group of miscreant near the Goddess Mangala temple of Sanakumari village.

    Following the attack, Bikram’s younger brother Bipin was also attacked. While he tried to run from the spot to save himself the miscreants chased him in broad daylight in the busy roads of the village and caught him near the bridge of Sunakhala road. There the miscreants repeatedly attacked him with sharp weapons and as a result he was killed on the spot.

    The family members and locals rescued the elder brother Bikram and sent him to the hospital. His condition is critical.

    The miscreants fled from the scene after committing the crime.

    It has been suspected that past enmity is the probable reason behind the lethal attack. The deceased, injured as well as the accused miscreants are from Sanakumari village.

    After getting information Bolgarh Police reached the spot and initiated investigation. Further investigation of the case is underway while the culprits are yet to be nabbed.
